The bouncers looked at me head to toe before acknowledging me.They were more concerned with the women, and power trips. inside, I thought there might be potential. it was the lack of music I know that caught my ear. The smoke was SO THICK in there that I walked into a wall . "VIP" area? just a bunch of people standing around . DJ played music that had too much dead space, and I didnt know a single song. at 230 we started hearing some really good music being played . I heard it was a different DJ from NYC. FIRE THE DJ AND GET THIS NEW GUY IN THERE! the last 30 minutes or so of the night was the best because of this guy. Come with an attitude because that is what you will be met with. Well I've been to the Office a couple times and dont plan on going again. The cost to get in is ridiculous compared to the actual offering of the club. $10 to get into a place where you still have to pay above average prices for beers and get drenched by the shoddy AC system while you dance is hardly exciting. I wonder if I should feel bad for the people that actually pay the VIP membership to sit in the unsecluded VIP area. I mean I've just walked into it and sat down without having to pay? I think the limo thats always parked outside it is a prop too. Cant imagine anyone actually wanting to cruise to this terrible club in one. But alas I feel its just a trendy place for those that "think they have it all" but dont. more

The office is so played up that when you go there all you get is disappointment. Filled with an arrogant staff Office is trying to be the Studio 54 of NC. I came from NY to visit college friends and had the worst time. Music is totally out dated, the drinks are weak and expensive, the vip room for members is something to laugh about, and people actullay pay for a membership. I see where they tried to make the interior look like something outta Miami or Ny but it didnt work. This is not a cool or fun place to go dancing with friends. Raleigh needs more clubs like the Office. Some of us are young and successful and we'd like to have a place in town where dressing up is actually ENCOURAGED. Saturdays are off the hook at the Office. I'll take the Office over the numerous glorified sports bars that seem so popular with the white cap wearing college kids. (Tip: If you serve wings, you're not a hip nightspot). more

I also was at the office for New Years and this guy did not know what he was talking about. I went to four bars that night and The Office was the best by far. I did not notice the "heavy" police presence although I did see the same two I see every time I go. The atmosphere was great as usual and the women are all top shelf. Anyone who didn't have a good time there New Years should have stayed home and watched Dick Clark. The Office is the best overall club in the Triangle. Maybe this guy was the one in the gutter? Is upscale? I'd be fascinated to know what criteria was used to define The Office as "upscale", "swanky" and "dressed for success". Attending on New Year's Eve I felt like I was transported back into any other sleazy bar in Bayone, NJ. Trashy dress and even trashier behavior ruled the night here at this "member only" establishment. The oh-so-important "VIP section" (VIP membership: $300) was nothing more than a small area elevated by three steps. At $100/step I truly pitied these foolish souls who actually felt "important". The "chic, modern" interior included broken padded bench seating with the customary unidentifiable stains and cigarette burn holes. What really pulled the night together though, at this "swanky" joint was the guy laying passed out in the gutter outside the front door. The heavy police presence that I found odd at the beginning of the night made perfect sense by the end. Pros: good martini, pleasant bartenders Cons: see review more

The Office is nothing more than a see and be seen yuppiehole for rich punks who try to outdress each other and can only talk about their dad's money. I went to The Office one night for girl's night out-I was so disappaointed! This place bills itself as being upscale and classy-if this is so, why were there guys in T-shirts and jeans?? Hardly upscale...or classy. I've been to classier places in smaller towns than Raleigh-this place is a joke How can a place with a linoleum floor be considered upscale?? Drinks were too expensive; the "classy" atmosphere was a joke; and why on earth would I go somewhere where nasty guys can gind all up on me? more

My friends and I went to the office last saturday night and had the best time. We were on the techno side most of the night in the VIP room. The place was packed but the nice girl bartender was really fast. We also saw the cast of the Sopranos in the VIP room. Tony's nephew Christopher was really nice and looked just like a mobster. They only problem was the line outside and parking, but if you can early its not so bad. Pros: Lots of Fun, Good Looking People, Fast Bartenders Cons: Parking, Front Door Line more

I don;t really know what all these peopl with negative reviews expect.. The staff was great when I went, and crowded. As for Fridays, I don't know of any club in town that's bus on Friday, with Raleigh being the hip, party town that it is?!?! yea, right.. The Office rocks... go see for yourself..But, as for any club, they have their nights... I was a little hesitant about going to The Office after reading one of the more recent reviews. But the friends I was out with last Saturday wanted to go. We had so much fun. They have changed alot of stuff. The dancing polls on the hip-hop side were a great idea. I also noticed alot of the old staff was still there along with new ones. I don't agree with the last review. I used to go to the Office alot last year and stopped going because of the people that were working there and their attitudes. I recently went back and will keep on going. Things have change alot since last year. The attitudes are gone. Dress code has relaxed and the atmosphere is alot better. Just check it out and see for yourself. Pros: girls, girls, girls more

Raleigh Native who finally migrated to this scene. Good place to meet people, relax, drink strong (yet $$ LIT's) mixed drinks, and dance if that's your thing. Crowd is older than college-age crowds at C. Village or Old Bar. Mid-twenties to mid- thirties people who want to kick it. Great bar on Saturday Night with a mix of crowd (mostly good/some riff-raff grabbing girls). Bouncers are respectful if you are, waitresses & bartenders prompt and courteous, almost smoke-free. Cranks up at midnight and pumps til 3AM. They should lower music in Lounge so one can refuge to get his game on w/o yelling. I'll head back. My friends and I went this Saturday and it was so much fun. We got there around midnight and all the people were starting to get there. There were seven of us girls and when we first walked around I couldn't believe how many nice looking people there were. This place was definitely NOT one of those sketchy clubs. This club seems to be growing in popularity. After being open for a few years the place seems to have re-invented itself. They are packed thursday - saturday. Usually Raleigh stops going.
