Awesome Preschool 12/1/2011

This is our first year doing preschool or a Coop really. It's great fun and my daughter LOVES going to school. She's only 17 months but I can see it's starting to help with her social skills already. The teacher and the class are really a lot of fun! more

Happy Child, Happy Parents 5/28/2011

In contrast to the last review, we have been exceptionally happy with this co-op and how our child has grown. Our personal parenting style meshes well with the school's style of promoting creativity and providing a supportive learning environment for both parents and children. If you are looking for a rote learning style (ABC/123) that skimps on creative and social skills, you might search for another community. If you are looking for a community to supoort you and your kids, this is the year to join NCCP. True, the school is undergoing some transition this year (hence the 4 stars in place of 5), but we have a new volunteer board and a refreshed outlook on what this school can be to the wider community as well as how it should function as a community! more

Great School 5/26/2011

Very good environment for kids and parents. It is a Co-Op so parent involvement is required but that is one of it's strengths. For some the co-op model and the philosophy at the school is not a good fit. We recently have had some unhappy parents with the model of NCCP but they are leaving, so good luck to them elsewhere. more

It's a shame 5/18/2011

This preschool used to be one of the best ones in the area, but its new leadership and teaching is completely subpar, and I can no longer recommend it to anyone. It's really a shame. The school currently does not have the enrollment or support to last in to the 2011/2012 school year so I would be wary of registering a child and then losing the opportunity to get a spot elsewhere. more

Wonderful early-childhood experience! 9/6/2006

The co-op preschool experience is a wonderful way to get a head start on being involved in your children’s activities. North City Co-Op is parent run, which is what makes it so great! My two girls and I attend the evening class (18 mos.-3 years) which is very convenient for my family. There is also a morning playgroup for younger babies/toddlers, and classes for the slightly older children as well. If you are looking for a playgroup for your younger toddler, or a fun daytime activity for your pre-school age children, I highly recommend checking it out! more

Always Learning 4/16/2006

North City Cooperative Preschool is the only Coop in the area with an evening class: Night Owls for 18 months to 3 y.o. It's great for workers who want to be in the class with their kids. NCCP is a parent lab - Parents learn new ways to help their kids grow, then practice what they've learned in the classroom - with other parents and kids. more

Fun for my girls and Mom too! 4/14/2006

I joined a in 2002 for my oldest daughter, and ended up staying as much for myself as for my girls. The girls love going to preschool, love their teacher, and have had many fun social experiences, art, science and field trips. And the community friendships and parenting info makes parenting fun for me, too. more
