Editorial review from Citysearch 10/16/2013

Looking for a Dermatologist... KEEP LOOKING! \r \r I am EXTREMELY disappointed with every aspect of my visit to North Carolina Dermatology Associates! From spending 45 mins filling out all the on-line paperwork just to arrive at the office, and have to fill out the paperwork again - to finally getting past the waiting room just for the nurse to ask all the SAME questions yet AGAIN!! COMPLETE WASTE OF MY TIME!! \r \r I arrived 10 minutes prior to my appointment, but still had the displeasure to waiting another 90 mins before I actually saw Dr Patel. It felt like, and the staff acted like, it was an inconvenience for me to be there having them work. When I finally ended up seeing Dr Patel, he was very condescending, and his bedside manner needs A LOT of improvement! \r \r Following up to get the results of a test preformed I encountered one of the RUDEST people I've had the displeasure of talking to! Not once - BUT THREE TIMES - did I have to ask the same question as the individual couldn't finish a conversation with me and carried on a completely different conversation with someone else while we were on the phone. Talking over me and then had to ask me to repeat myself THREE TIMES before she then transferred my call to another phone where I ended up leaving a message.\r \r Overall, I'm very disappointed with Dr Patel, and his staff! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you continue your search for another Dermatologist as North Carolina Dermatology Associates ranks up there with one of the MOST unprofessional places I've ever been too! more

Dr Patel is EXCELLENT for taking years off face w.o downtime 8/4/2011

I am 48 years old but when age cme up I had people assume / say I must be in my early 50s. I was devastated...I will get there soon enough. I went to multiple plastic surgeons and dermatologists and was told to have everything from facelift to fat injections, all kinds of suggestions that I either could not afford the price or downtime. I went to Dr. Patel who has trained with the very best and am extremely pleased....I swear he took 5 years off my face with no bruising, no downtime. He really cares and is not just a great doctor but an artist. I give him my highest recommendation. it is hard to see yourself age, and Dr Patel has made it easier. more

Great Dermatologist!!!! 6/30/2011

After trying several other dermotologists in the Triangle for my daughter's acne (which didn't improve), I thought I'd try a Duke trained physician and see if there was any difference. Dr. Patel tried several treatments (as I would expect) before starting my daughter on Isotretinoin (Accutane), which has worked a miracle on her face, back, and shoulders. She is so clear now! He also expertly removed several moles, and even helped us with some unrelated health issues that we needed advice on. He is a treasure and his office and staff are very professional. So glad I found him that I had to let others know what they are missing. more

Wonderful experience 3/11/2011

I feel very fortunate to be Dr. Patel's patient at North Carolina Dermatology Associates. He was recommended to me by a friend. His office is new and his staff is friendly and professional. For the most part, I have gone to him for botox and fillers, and I have always been very pleased with the results. His credentials are impeccable and his friendly manner puts you at ease. In the past I have been to other dermatologists for cosmetic treatments, and I find Dr. Patel to be one of the best. I would highly recommend him. In addition I have recommended him to other friends (both men and women) who have visited him for non-cosmetic medical care like the removal of precancerous moles, etc. Everyone was very pleased with his care and most have visited his office more than once, and they all thanked me for recommending him. I feel very fortunate to have found such a wonderful dermatologist and I am happy to recommend NCDA. more

Bad Experience 2/8/2011

I did not like my experience with this doctor's office. The best thing that I can say is that the office was new and very nice looking. There were no other patients when I showed up for my appointment. I had an issue right away with the front office staff over my insurance. I provided my insurance prior to my appointment but they didn't call to verify my benefits until I showed up. There was some issue so I had to pay up front and then get reimbursed from my insurance later. I had a decent wait time considering the office was empty. The office girls were a bit unprofessional as they stood at a window near the front desk chatting and giggling. Dr. Patel seems like an okay guy but has very poor bedside manner. He was a little disconnected, if that makes sense. He wanted to do some treatment at that appointment, but I opted to wait because of the insurance issue and not wanting to pay up front. When I changed dermatologists later, I found out that the treatment he wanted to do was a more invasive treatment that might have left scarring (on my face no less) and that there was an easier (and cheaper) route to try. I would not recommend this office, but I love my dermatologist in Chapel Hill, Dr. Kenneth Becker. He spent much more time in the room with me and answered all of my questions about what I thought was possibly skin cancer (but turned out not to be, thank god). more

Not such a great experience 1/7/2011

I think the offices are very nice and there is not a long wait period. I also think Dr. Patel takes his time with his patients. BUT I don't think he has his patients interests at heart. I am disappointed he told me after the botox I would be completely line free. He also didn't do such a great job on the restalyn and when I went back to him two weeks later (because it deflated on one side) he wasn't willing to fix it at no charge. I had an appt for a chemical peel scheduled the following week and told me to still come in and AFTER it was done... we would talk some more. No thank you. I was planning to go to him for a lot of services too. :( more

Excellent visit, great physician, staff and office! 1/7/2010

I recently made an appointment at North Carolina Dermatology Associates based on a recommendation from a friend. I'm so grateful I found this dermatologist. They were able to get me in for a mole check within a few days! The doctor was extremely thorough, very friendly and attentive. He really took time to answer all my questions. He clearly cares about his patients. The office is beautiful and the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. I'm thrilled I found a dermatologist in Raleigh who's so knowledgeable and caring. I'd definitely recommend NC Dermatology Associates to anyone who's looking for a dermatologist in the Raleigh / Durham area. more
