Pretty bad. 3/16/2009

This is quite easily the worst of the Nit Nois. The Mee-Grob was not made properly. It was sopping wet in some red sauce and contained a few, foul-smelling shrimp. We ordered a spicy beef dish but had to send it back because it smelled like an industrial chemical. I ordered the #5 Hangover Cure and it looked like the hangover precursor: a pile of v0mit on two lettuce leaves. Overall I was disgusted and will not be going back. Pros: Easy parking. Many tea refills. Cons: Taste of food. Poor service after sending back food. more

Worst Thai food I've ever had 8/18/2008

It's rare I have such a bad meal that I want people to know about it. I had take out from NitNoi for the first time this evening and it was the worst Thai food I've EVER had. There were red flags as soon as I walked in. Not a smile on anyone's face. They probabley knew they were about to serve me bad food. How can peanut sauce not taste like peanuts? Pros: good part of town Cons: nothing more

Worst Service Ever 9/14/2007

Bad Service. Very bad, if you are not a Caucasian the ""b*"" there do not treat you good, they act like you are eating free food! No one even came to check back. Very race oriented. Will not recommend anyone to go there, burn your money. The food is disgusting. Shame on them. Cons: Bad Service, bad food more

Worst Lunch Experience EVER 6/12/2007

Where to start? We went early to avoid the lunch crowd. A nice waitress came by to take our order, but we weren't ready. A few min. later, another came by to take our order, but we told her we had already been helped. A third waitress then came by and took our order. Cons: Food, service (the reasons to go to a restaurant) more

Best Pad Thai EVER! 6/8/2007

First of all, the reviews about service are absolutely silly. The service is FINE- I think they are always very nice and the food always comes out fast and fresh. What do you people want, a song and dance before you are seated? A personal conversation about your life and family? It is non expensive delicious food and you should be lucky to live in Houston only for the fact that this is the only city with nit noi. I have been eating here for years and to date, it has the absolute best pad thai I have had anywhere, and I order it at almost every thai restaurant I visit. I always order chicken pad thai- try it if you have gone and never had it. Also, the crispy spring rolls are fabulous, along with the peanut sauce! My other favorite is the shrimp wonton soup- yes, they have tails so prepare yourself- but quite being lazy and just pull them off. To me this shows freshness and the soup is delicious. Try it. Nit Noi is one of my favorite restaurants ever. Go if you have the chance. But sorry if they don't kiss your hands and feet before you are seated. Pros: great food, low cost Cons: atmosphere is just okay more

THIS PLACE WAS A JOKE 3/3/2007

I ordered putt thai with chicken and shrimp. the shrimp still had the tails on them!!! AND the whole dish smelled like fish. I have had pad thai at other places with chicken and shrimp. You obviously NEEED to take the tails off then cook it!! my pasta had pieces of shrimp tail in it!! i was picking it out of my mouth!!! No to mention that we stood at the door for 20 minutes waiting to be seated, just to be sat by the waitress who kept passing up back and forth. I shall never ever return here thank you! Pros: location Cons: food, service, everything more

bland bland bland 1/25/2007

I expected much more than what I received upon walking in the restaurant. The place had just opened for dinner it was quiet, the atmosphere was very nice the service was good but the food was not. I ordered chicken with cashews in a chili pepper sauce and was hoping for something with a little kick, but unfortunately, it tasted more like vegetable soup than actual Thai food. To be honest, there wasn't really much flavor to it at all. On the bright side, the portions were very large(enough for two meals) but who wants to eat bad Thai food twice? Pros: Nice atmosphere, good tea Cons: bland food more

Never again . . . 1/9/2007

The ambience was nice, if not a bit kitschy. We walked in expecting a good experience, but no one greeted us, so after a few minutes we sat ourselves. After 10 minutes of sitting, someone finally took our order. The spring rolls were filled with nothing but cabbage, which was dissapointing. We ordered the ginger fried rice w/chicken and the coconut curry. The food was hot, but that's about the only positive thing I can say about it. Presentation was great, but I have never tasted (or not tasted) food so bland. This restaurant definitely does not cater to people who like good service or food with authentic flavoring. Pros: ESPN at the Bar Cons: Everything else more

Not worth it 9/19/2006

I agree with the other reviews... the food is pretty good, but the service makes for a poor dining experience. I will say that the hot soup was very good, the spring rolls huge, and the entree's were all delicious... however there are too many choices around Houston to eat here. The waiters are very brash with customers... I would never go here on a date. When I asked what the Nit Noi sauce was the waiter just told me ""It's brown!"" A busboy slammed into me whilst I was sitting down. When I looked up to see what just happened he shot me a death stare. Pros: Food's not terrible Cons: Overpriced for a place with that kind of service more

No thanks 7/29/2006

After receiving waters, we waited 15 minutes for the waitress to take our orders. Finally our beef w/ peppers arrived. The beef looked like taco meat and the waitress refused to bring us more than a thimble of soy sauce at a time. Service and food quality was pretty poor. Pros: Affordable, not very crowded Cons: Poor service, poor food quality more

I have never had such a terrible experience! 6/1/2005

waited in an empty restaurant for 15 minutes to have a drink order taken.. The hostess took our food order - ordered eggless dish - as I have an allergy. The waiter brought out one dish - only to make us wait ten minutes or so for the second one - which included egg! the waiter left before i could tell him. waited more. The hostess finally walked by and i asked for the waiter... I finally sent the dish back and resigned myself to eating the other dish. pieces of chicken - not tofu - showed up in the vegetarian dish! After waiting MUCH longer - a check was brought - including a charge for extra tofu - what??? Once we paid - our bill was returned to us and we were told that we hadn't left enough of a tip. A GREAT was to end a terrible meal! more

Fabulous Food 4/28/2005

My wife and I got take out from Nit Noi in Woodway for the 1st time the other night and it was outstanding. I don't know much about Thai Cuisine but the food was so good and everything we ordered was delicious! We had the thai Sausage, seafood soup, and the pad thai were fantastic! Pros: Great Value, Inexpensive, Plentiful Portions more

where's the service? 11/30/2004

Let me just sum up the type of service you get here: -got seated and waited about 15 minutes until somebody took our order -the waitress that took our order runs to our table, whips out her paper and pen, and yells ""OK!"" - no greeting, no ""what would you like to order?"" - just a loud ""OK""....what is that?? -got two dishes - 1st one came out in 10 minutes, and waited 20 minutes for the second dish to come out. -service got a little better towards the end when people started leaving The food is okay but service needs a huge improvement for me to come back again. Pros: ok food, parking more

Super Surly 8/21/2003

Nit Noi on Woodway has the surliest staff in Houston. From the hostess who barked, ""How many!"" to our waiter who said a total of ""Yeah, you ready?"", there was not a single greeting, smile, or other show of hospitality. All in all, they seemed angry that people were in their restaurant. The food was OK, but you'd do better going to Thai Pepper or Paddy Thai, where you'll receive delicious food AND a smile. Cons: rude, surly staff more

Fabulous! Yummy! 10/5/2002

My family and I have enjoyed eating at Nit Noi since the Woodway location opened about 5 years ago. My personal favorite dish is SHuuu SHee Seashell by the seashore and Thai chili Beef. The aromas of Thai herbs always capture my good appetite. The waitstaff are responsive, friendly, and attentive. Sometime when they are busy, the service is slow but it is understandable. I realize that they always do the best they can. I don't understand the persons who commented about bad service here. I don;t know what they expect from a restaurant where the food are inexpensive and the tips are paid by percentage. You cant compare service here with Tony's (if you have been there) because the prices are too different. more

Nit Not! 8/29/2002

Would I ever go back to Nit Noi? Not unless I wanted to overpay for average Thai fare served by a terrible waitstaff. There are much better thai places (down the street) nearby that offer similar quality food at a better price. My date and I ordered the chicken with peanut sauce and were charged extra for extra rice and sauce. As far as our waiter, I've seen more emotion out of a robot. This guy was totally going through the motions. Anyway, I would suggest that you take a look around the village area for better alternatives. Pros: good peanut sauce, nice decor, village location Cons: waitstaff, overpriced, smaller portions more
