My 2 Chihuahua's LOVE this place! Tonya & Jody spoil them with love and attention. They are so wonderful and are always accommodating with my schedule. we have been coming here for about 2 years and will continue to use them! My dogs don't need the prettiest and most expensive place out there...they need the place they get the best care and attention! I swear my dogs think they are going to summer camp when we drive up the driveway! more

Music City Kennels is under new Management and after reading these past post I can't imagine why anyone would work at a kennel if their first priority wasn't for the care and safety of the animals. Yes the building is old, but the care and concern given to my pet is why I return to this facility. The staff is always cheerful and kind and gentle. more

DONT DO IT!!!!! 3/13/2011

From a previous employee I will honestly say I would never board my dog there even if thats the last boarding place that has room.I was looking to board my dogs and I ran into this place.The place has to still be falling into pieces.From the inside to the runs where your dogs sleep.I bet its not flee sprayed like its suppose too.No heat in the runs just space heaters.Blankets still have to be crappy.Towels shouldnt be used as beds especially just a towel.I piled the towels up to make a good bed.Most of the time the toys dont get labled but its not hard to ask if they can write the last name on the toy.Then the owner isnt on site or the state.You will never see or talk to her.I promise you.If they can fix the place to where you can have a welcome feeling not a blah I dont think this a good idea feeling.Tell them to put up new fences not old ghetto rigged fences.Clean runs.They get scrubbed and sprayed out and a change of water.But it prob still looks horrible.Employees who would look forward to working not the employee that puts that fake smile on cause they know exactly what Im saying.Wondering if they gonna get paid on time not 2-4 days after pay day.All I can say to whoever wants to board here.DONT DO IT!!! more

Pet Returned Home with Serious Illness After Boarding 6/16/2010

After researching the CitySearch reviews, I wanted to give Music City Kennel the benefit of the doubt. It has a convenient location for our family and the receptionist was helpful. However, after our last visit, we will NEVER return. I took our 9 year old dog in for her annual physical, where she received a clean bill of health. She then stayed at Music City for over a week. When we picked up our dog, she was wet, smelled badly and was lethargic. Realizing that a bath and TLC were not enough, we took her to the vet the next morning. Our dog had advanced staff, yeast and multiple bacteria infections in both ears. We continue to incur vetrinary bills to fix a problem our dog had not ever had before staying at Music City Kennels. More importantly, our dog was in excruciating pain until we could get the infection somewhat controlled. In an attempt to give Music City another chance, we called and explained the circumstances and were met with combativeness and the promise of a phone call from the owner, which we are still waiting for. MY dogs have been to MCK many times over the last few years. The have always come home happy and healthy. I have left toys, blankets, and pillows with them and have always gotten the items back. more

Music City Kennels- New Mgt 8/7/2008

Just have to say here and I'm a current employee of the kennel. My apologies to these FEW previous customers. Management was in a shambles for a few months and things did get hectic and crazy. And I have to say this, there are always going to be a few people who are not happy, no matter what you do. And if you have never worked in the customer service field of any kind, don't be so quick to judge. You don't know what that employee might have had to deal with that day. I'm not taking up for the person whoever it might've been, but I think I know, and that person, who at the time was the manager, is no longer there. And yes, there are notes all over the place stating, that if you bring toys, especially during the holiday season, we can not guarantee that you will get them all back. That being simply with the number of dogs around holiday and peak times, the toys and everything are pulled out of the kennels each and every morning so they can be cleaned and pressure washed. If all the toys are not labeled, and most of the time they are not, it IS next to impossible to keep up with all of them. We advise all customers that if they are going to bring toys, to make sure it's something that is not of much monetary value and that it's something that you will not have a problem with if you don't get it back. \r Anyone can say what they want but MCK has been around for over 20 yrs and has had some of the most loyal customers of any kennel out there today. We have regular customers and many newer ones that trust us with their babies and I can say, they are well taken care of. Same owner, but new mgt and one employee has been there for the past 3 yrs and her sheer dedication to the kennel goes without saying. If you ever have any questions or concerns, feel free to call them. And if any employee, which there are only 3 at this time, give you any kind of prob, please feel more than welcome to report it to the new management and it will be dealt with. :) more

Horrible Customer Service/Horrible Treatment 1/28/2008

I needed a last minute kennel for my dog while I went on a last minute trip to Florida. So I chose Music City Kennels being as it was close and my dog would only be staying over 3 nights. Before I chose this place I asked ""Do you have Sunday pick up?"" I was told ""Yes, either between 8-10 or 5-6."" Great I thought...my roommate can pick her up Sunday at 8am so I won't get charged another full day. I dropped her off on Thursday at 5:30 (the latest they take dogs in) and gave them a blanket and stuffed animal and asked if she'd be let outside again tonight, knowing they closed at 6. He said she had about another hour of ""free time."" Whatever that means...\r \r My roommate calls me in Florida on Sunday morning at 9am saying that they she got her and the place is horrible. She forgot she left my blanket there and had to go back for it. When she arrived, she was told ""Oh I'm glad you came back, we undercharged you"" ($60 is what they had her write my one check I gave her). So they charged her anther $20 for Sunday even though she picked her up when they opened and they didn't do a damn thing for my dog. Not to mention they told her I'd have to come back for the blanket because she soiled it and they had to launder it. They had written down that she'd becoming back on Monday, so my dog probably slept in filth the three nights she was at the Kennel. My dog came home and drank a whole bowl full of water, so I'm assuming she was not properly cared for. \r \r I called back from Florida...she said there's a sign up stating they charge full days on Holiday and Sunday pick-up regardless of what time you pick them up. Would have been nice to know over the phone since I dropped my dog off as I was leaving. They had no customer service, I was told it was the owners policy. So I asked to talk to the owner and she said she'd tell me to talk to the woman I was already talking to! So I went in...and the woman there said she only worked part time there and could not help me. more

Music City Kennels - RUDE EMPLOYEE 12/27/2006

One employee was picking up the ringing phone and slamming the phone down on customers calling in. Was not customer oriented at all and could care less if I got all of my dogs belongings back. At one point took her arm across the counter and just let everything fly into the wall across the room because she lost her temper. She kept saying I would have to come back and get the rest of my dogs belongings because she did not know where they were. When I said no, she got angrier and angrier. She kept telling me how someone quit that mornng and she was not supposed to be there and she did not feel good and her knee hurt which had nothing to do with assisting customers. She also mentioned how 100 customers bring their dogs in and want them to keep track of their belongings (as if it were an impossibility). This seems to be what the business of having a kennel and boarding dogs would be. I would NOT recommend them. My dog came home with a sore on her lip and very timid. I am fearful of animal abuse since this woman had such a bad temper. I also had to wait until she located the blanket that I brought in for my dog. All she did was complain how they clean blankets in the morning (as if I should know that) and she did not know where it was. I sat there until she brought it out but she refused to go look for my dogs toys. I didn't quite understand why the toys ever left the cage which is where I put them when I dropped her off. Pros: Convenient to where I live. Cons: Thumbs down. Employees with bad tempers. more

Solid Family Business and Good Value 4/27/2006

when I board my dogs I want a safe environment. I don't care about the lobby or items for sale--I just want to know my dogs are well taken care of by qualified staff, not hourly high school kids. Cage-free sounds wonderful until you hear real-life horror stories about small dogs being killed by larger dogs. MCK is an old-fashioned kennel without all the frills of the newer kennels. The rates are reasonable and the hours are decent. The facility is old, but clean. I trust them completely with my two babies--and that is saying a lot. Pros: employees, hours, affordable more
