Really!? Could it be any worse???? 11/17/2010

What a joke this place is... I mean really. OK, you don't put cabbage in the in Colcannon potatoes, (which is what make this traditional Irish dish), fine. You serve frozen vegetables, cheap store bought bread and call it warm fresh rolls. Shoot you serve frozen everything. \r \r I love traditional Irish food..... But let me tell you this wasn't it. Nothing was fresh, half of the menu was unavailable, the BBQ sauce taste like ketchup and sugar and the manager sat at the end of the bar smoking cigarettes while we waited 45 minutes for an appetizer of wings. That tasted as if they'd gone sour and I couldn't finish. \r more

Corned beef and cabbage - with no cabbage 8/19/2010

My out of town family members and I went there last weekend and I am afraid I made a huge mistake! The fact that they were pretty empty should have been a warning, but I thought my brother-in-law (who is from Dublin!) would get a kick. It took over an hour to get our food - the soup was cold, the gravy on the Chicken Fitzgerald was canned, as were the mixed vegtables. But the kicker was my Corned Beef and Cabbage that came out with NO CABBAGE! I wanted to send it back, but my husband kept telling me ""It's in the potatoes"". I ate them all and found not a shred of cabbage. Go for the beer and the music, but eat somewhere else! more

Stepping off 2nd into Ireland 10/27/2009

How they didn't win Best Place To Make You Feel You're Not In Nashville is a mystery to me. Its always a treat to duck in on a Friday or Saturday Night to catch their live music, which is always a crowd pleaser. The darts in the back or upstairs makes a nice complement too, if the bar is full. Pros: Atmosphere, Irish music, darts Cons: downtown parking more

Great beer, food and music. 7/8/2008

My husband and I are regulars at Mulligans. The music is great and the guys do a great job of getting the crowd involved and into it. Our glasses are never empty and the food rocks ( esp. the Scottish Eggs). The music starts at 9:30. If you prefer quiet time while you eat come in before then. Recommed Mulligan's to everyone. Pros: Great music, Great food, Lots of fun Cons: parking more

Great music! 3/13/2008

This is such a great place to go sit and drink a few beers with your friends and sing along with the live music. The waitstaff is great, they remember you when you are a repeat customer and they always offer great recommendations. If you are unsure what to eat or drink, go ahead and ask your server...they are never wrong. Pros: Staff, music, beer Cons: Parking more

Fun and Friendly! 1/11/2008

This is one of my fave places when I visit Nashville. The staff is always friendly, the food is hot and good. We like to sit by the window. This is great also if you are on a budget. I would higly recommend! more

A brill evening 9/21/2006

I had a wonderful evening at Mulligans!!! The service was superb, the food was ok for American food.....salt on the chips!!????....you folks call them ""french fries""...we Brits call them ""chips"". One day you Yanks will realise that salt on everything really isn't good for you!! The music was brilliant but sadly Yanks dont know the words to the songs so there was no singing along. In the UK and Ireland this would have been the high point..........all singing along together!! Most Yanks have never even heard of Manchester so ""Dirty Old Town"" was lost on the audience......just as much as ""Leaving of Liverpool"" was and what this song means to so many Irish American descendants.\r \r The band played my request for the ""Londonderry Air"".......""Danny Boy"" to many... but the Yanks in the audience didnt have to respect to listen to the words of this wonderful song.\r \r A great place to eat and listen to and singalong with lovely music. ""Wild Rover"" is a classic Irish song................. I hope its played again when I visit next........ Im in Nashville sometime within the next two weeks.\r \r I'll definitely be going back to Mulligans........... I hope the band know the tune and words to ""Paddy McGintys Goat"" this time!!!\r \r Tom Crichton\r \r p.s. The beer was as good as you can expect a pint of Guinness to be.............Awesome, wherever it's served!! more

Disappointment 9/17/2006

My husband I went out trying to find a new place to try and came across Mulligan's Pub. We walked in and got seated right away on a Saturday night but no one ever came over to our table we waited about 15 min and then left. I was quit disappointed because we had never been to a pub before. I seriously doubt we will ever go back there again I hear the one at Opryland Hotel is excellent!!! more

St. Patrick's Day 3/17/2006

This was my first time to Mulligans, so I'm not going to write a big review; St. Patrick's isn't your typical day. They handed out hats, necklaces, t-shirts and all sorts of freebies throughout the night. Somehow, they were out of oxygen for the taps when we got there, so they only had two types of beer to start with. Hostess was great. Waitress was a little frazzled. We had a couple of beers while we waited to be seated for dinner. Had to wait outside for a little while as they were at capacity, but it was all in good fun. I think they ran out of real buscuits - more like ""steak and rolls"". Lots of smoke in the house, as is typical of a bar. more

Nice place to go... 9/27/2005

Yes, last night was my birthday, and like last year, i go to the same spot. Mulligan's. Lauren was the bartender and it seems she is always in full effect. My glass was never empty and the service and food was excellent (I had the Spud Soup). Lauren, if you're watching, you are one of the best bartenders out there... Pros: Guinness, Food, Ambient more

A Great Irish Pub! 3/31/2005

I ordered the fish & chips in hopes that it wouldn't be overcooked as another reviewer mentioned. Not only was it not overcooked but it was awesome! Loved the fries so much I didn't use Ketcup. Service was excellent and considering I sat at the bar, where service is usually lacking, I would rate my bartender Lauren a 10 on service. Not once was my glass empty and food was out in a snap. I also tried the cheesecake - Guuuuud :-) I saw someone get Scottish eggs and they look good too. Ambieance was what made this place though. The band, albeit new, got everyone into it and really made my night. Go around 9pm that way you'll be done with your meal around the time the band starts. If you want quiet, go before 9pm. Pros: Ambiance, Food, Service Cons: Live music too late more

Mulligan's is FANTASTIC 1/22/2005

We visited Mulligan's on 1/21/05. We had a WONDERFUL time. The music was excellent. The crowd was very involved. The service was great and the prices reasonable. The food wasn't too good. The fish and chips was very over-cooked but don't let that stop you. Have dinner somewhere else and go to Mulligan's for a cozy atmosphere, good Irish music and lots of fun!!!! I give it a 10!!! Pros: Music, Service, Value more

Great Fun 1/6/2005

I love the music and atmosphere at Mulligans. Very friendly and everyone sings along with the band. Great beers on tap too. This became one of my favorite bars, and will make sure I visit each time I'm in town. Pros: Irish Music, Friendly people, Cold Beer more

Great place! 10/10/2003

GREAT service, the staff will remember you (they had our favorite table already reserved for my girlfriend and myself because they remembered us coming in the previous weeks!), wonderful food, and the best band I've ever heard in town. (Sportin' Paddy). Try Mulligan's if you've got any desire to have a wonderful time out! (Friday and Saturday nights get LOUD and FUN, so if you're looking for a ""romantic"" evening like another reviewer, skip it and go to F. Scott's or something. Pros: Food, Band, Service Cons: Parking (downtown), pub-crawlers more

You'll really like Mulligan's Pub 2/28/2003

Over the years, my friends and I have spent a number of evenings at this great place. The music is a lot of fun (be sure to ask the band to play the 'Alligator' song) and also a lot of fun to drink a beer or two to. Things can get a little loud later in the evening, but I imaging the place is a mirror image of what would probably take place inside an Ireland pub. It's easy to get caught up in things and think you're in the land of the Shamrocks! Pros: Great drinking music, Excellent staff, Good prices more

Nice but NOISY! 11/25/2002

We're not old, but Mulligan's was just too loud for us. The crowd is ecclectic and cool. The atmosphere is fun and inviting. The beer is crisp and cold. The only thing about this place that was not just what we wanted, was the volume. Even for a bar on a friday night, it was really loud. Sitting right next to my wife and I could barely hear her. Not exactly the kind of romantic atmosphere we wanted. Pros: Cold Beer, Good Music Cons: WAY Too Loud, Crowded more
