Over the last several months I've been looking for a new tattoo artist. A good friend of mine knew this and very adamantly suggested I go to 'his guy', Ben Dixon, owner and artist at Lone Wolf. I have been jacked around by other well known artists in the area who are talented but we just didn't really get along. Ben has been nothing but wonderful thus far and I have absolutely no intentions of going elsewhere for anymore of the work I plan on having done. (which is a significant amount) The artistry is phenomenal and the rest of the guys are super chill and very friendly. I can't imagine why anyone who goes to these guys for some work will have nothing other than a Class A experience. Call me bias but frankly, they've given me reason to be that way. Not to mention that Lone Wolf has been voted #1 for the last 12+ years in the Nashville Scene's ""best of"" annual issue. Good luck beating that. more

I thought this place was one of the best in nashville?? I went with a friend to watch her get tattooed and was going to make an appointment/consultation for myself. The artist was condescending and rude, talked down to us the entire time. I was shocked at the treatment we received. Maybe it used to be great, but not anymore. Needless to say I will be going somewhere else for my tattoo. more

I have been going here for almost 16 years and once upon a time they were the best around. Now they are absolutely crappy. The service is horrible!! Would rather down to Mississippi and waste money on gas than bother with the jerks that work at Lone Wolf. Ben what the heck happened to your shops? more

Probably my worst tattoo experience so far. I went in to get a pretty simple tattoo, mostly line work and some lettering. The artist I spoke with was nice enough, but clearly lukewarm about the design. OK, no problem, I don't think the artist has to dig the design to provide their services. When I returned for my appointment the problems mounted. This part can only be this big, the placement won't work, the lettering options are limited, etc. Beyond the stoic, nice dude veneer this guy was being really condescending and treating me like a moron. This would have been my eighth tattoo. I could have pointed to examples on my body of things done smaller and in more detail than he was claiming was possible. *Worst Part* I had my fiancee with me. After we decided to leave she told me that every time I wasn't paying attention this guy was leering at her and giving her a ""can you believe this guy"" expression. Nice. When we got home we ""sharpied"" the design onto my arm to see if his placement concerns were valid. Totally bogus. Avoid this place. You can do better. more

I've been to four different tattoo shops all around and Lone Wolf is by far my favorite! TIM is such a great artist!! I came in, told him exactly what I wanted, and, within a week, he had drawn it and tattooed me. Then, a few weeks later, when I wanted to get a drop shadow added to it to hide a little ink bleeding they did it for free and told me to come back if I needed anything. These guys are extremely professional, clean, and nice. It'd be difficult to convince me to go to any other shop. more

I have now had three tattoos done at Lone Wolf and this past experience was, once again, incredible. I don't think you can get better than Jason St. Clair--he is a true artist and I will definitely come to him for all of my future ink. He was meticulous and took the time to make my idea come alive in the most beautiful way... plus he's just a cool guy. more

I had a wonderful experience. The tattoo artist took his time trying to help me with an old cover up. After we decided on a design ,we started with tattoo process. It turned out wonderful & I get tons of compliments ! I highly recommend ! more

Will Wood at Lone Wolf is an amazing artist, and does beautiful color. Literally every time I go out, people ask me who did my tattoos. He took the time to go through pictures with me and figure out the style that I would like, and then drew everything up. Go see him, and make an appointment for your tat... good tattoos take longer than 5 minutes! Pros: great tattoos, very reasonable prices, no bs Cons: always having to tell people who did my tats :) more

After much thought & anticipation, I finally decided to take the plunge & get pierced. From the minute I met Joshua, he put me at ease & helped calm my nerves. He was very friendly & professional & answered the zillion questions I had.....even tho I'm sure I was driving him nuts. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me before he started. Once pierced, he was very thorough in giving me detailed instructions on how to care for the piercing . All in all, I had a great experience & love my piercing.....anyone wanting one, go see JOSHUA!!!! He is the best! Pros: Extremely professional staff & clean shop more

I had been referred to Lone Wolf by three people in one day to get a piercing. I gave them a call, they answered all my questions, & next thing you know ... I'm there. I get greeted with numerous smiles & hellos, they ask me what I'm interested in, & they are way beyond friendly. They treated me like I was part of the family. This was my first facial piercing & I'm glad I came here. It was sanitary, well organized, had an awesome variety of jewelry, & I was very pleased with the staff. I wish I could give this place zero stars. No one even greeted me. When someone finally came out of the back, he looked at me like 'what do you want' and just shrugged his shoulders at me wordlessly. I told him what I wanted (it was a very simple design, just an outline, and I had the EXACT sketch with me) during which he never even looked at me and said nothing. Once I told him where I wanted it, another staff member showed up behind me and said ""that's a shitty place to get a tattoo"". It gets better. He also said that he would ""take my money and spend it"" and asked me, ""a tattoo is forever, right?"" like I was some kind of moron. This is my first tattoo, but I've thought about it for 5 years and I've done my homework. They INSISTED on a large size I was completely uncomfortable with and quoted me $20 more than I'd been quoted elsewhere. Unprofessional, overpriced, and loaded with terrible attitude. Now, at Kustom Thrills in East Nashville, I was welcomed inside warmly and the owner talked with me directly. He told me that my location may have to be hiked up a few inches instead of saying I'd picked a ""shitty spot"", told me he could do stencils of multiple sizes until I was happy, answered all of my many questions thoroughly and quoted me a VERY reasonable price. I went there today to get my Industrial Pierced and one the the piercers Teddy, walked me back cleaned his hands did every cleaning precautions unwrapped the needles, and jewelry from its packages. Very sanitary, my piercing looks great definitely going to go back for everything else! Pros: Quick Informative Comforting Cons: Spoke kind of fast. more

Will Bledsoe is the best artist in town. I went there with the idea of a memorial tattoo and knew he would do it well. It's more beautiful than I could imagine. Two of my friends also got some script written on their ribs, and they look gorgeous!!!! After speaking to the staff at lonewolf we drove over 250 miles away with them agreeing to work us in. Once they seen exactly what me and my partner wanted they turned us away and said they would do it next tuesday, this was friday. So after that we walked away never to return, we went down the street to ICON tattoo where they were very busy with only one artist and they worked us right in. We both got an awesome tattoo with a lifetime warranty and we will drive 250 miles to ICON anyday. Cant say the same for Lonewolf. I will never come back we spent our $500 at ICON not lonewolf. I first went to lone wolf about 2 years ago. I was greeted warmly by an artist by the name of Will Bledsoe. I explained what i wanted, and gave him a picture. He told me to come back in a week or so and we set up an appointment. He drew a copy of what i wanted as well as something similar but more realistic, not as cartooney. I was shocked by the effort he showed towards it. I loved his own design and got that done. Since then Ive gotten about 30 more hours worth of work from Will at Lone Wolf. Each time was more and more enjoyable than the last. Since I havnt been tattoo'ed by any of the other artist there, ive only seen their tattoo's in pictures and on others, from what i've seen they are just as talented as Will. The comradery of the shop is amazing, its like they are all family there, and when you step into the shop, you are treated like family. I highly recommend Lone Wolf if you are looking for any kind of tattoo or piercing. They will be willing to work with you for that perfect design you want, that will also look good on you. I have to say first off that I have never seen much good come from this tattoo shop. What is even more irritating is that these talentless doodlers think they own this town. They only prove the fact that anyone can tattoo. Now if you want kermit the frog, flowers or stars; maybe even some picture of something, go to lone wolf, they are great at this. Now if you want something original/a work of art, use your google. more
