Poor employee attitude 4/18/2012

I just went to Kroger this morning and they had most of the store taped off for waxing. i understand that they need to do this sometime so I wasn't bothered about it. However, I just wanted to know how long it would be blocked off and if I could get a simple product. I couldn't get many of the employees attention as they were to busy talking with each other. I went to a couple of employees near the check out lane where one was leaning on the counter faced away from me. I asked how long it would be blocked off and if I could get a product and the one employee asked the other one if she knew anything. For the next couple of minutes that employee would not even turn around to talk to me nor really answer my question well. She seemed offput and annoyed and answered me some but NEVER turned around the whole time I was talking to her. I have never felt so dismissed in my life. Such rudeness! This happens so much at this store that I no longer will go there and will take my business elsewhere. They need some serious training in customer service. more

Angry Sullen Employees with a Chip on their Shoulder 8/16/2011

I smile at everyone I meet. This is not true for some of the employees at the West Gray Kroger. I get the sense that they feel that I did something wrong to them based upon their frowning faces, and I have not ever heard a more sullen and contemptuous tone to a ""Have a Nice Day"" before today. How sad. Now that there is a Whole Foods market nearby, I am pleased to know that I will never ever go back to this store again. What a relief!!! (Sheesh!) more

Exceptions 2/9/2010

Wowzer...must be some bad vibes running around somewhere. I don't doubt the truth behind the experiences from the other reviews, but would like to add two exceptions. The pharmacy staff has gone out of its way to ensure that my prescription gets filled. Won't go into details, but this prescription is extraordinarily hard to get filled -- anywhere. And yet each month they come through. Friendly folks there too. And the floral department has been very nice, very friendly. So don't think all of them are rude, because that's certainly not the case. more

Rude employees, Rampant Inconsistencies 2/2/2010

This Kroger is by far the worst grocery store I've ever been to; if it wasn't the only grocery store within walking distance, I would never go back. The employees are consistently rude to customers or simply unengaging. The deli counter is particularly bad (Ruby, especially), showing attitude towards customers, belittling them and acting sour and upset at having to do their jobs. Even one of Kroger's employees complained that she was lazy, didn't do her job, and that the only reason she was kept on staff was because of tenure. Cashiers are usually busy in their own conversations; too busy to do their jobs, or even acknowledge their customers in line. This has improved slightly as of late, but is hit or miss depending on the time of day. The produce is inconsistent: some days it will be fresh, some days it will be old (to the extent that there is mold growing). If you go looking for something partiuclar, don't expect it to be stocked every time. Entire sections of produce will be empty. Specialty items are few and far between. The parking lot is always littered with empty shopping carts, and the employees are often taking 'joy rides' in the disabled shopping carts instead of (you guessed it!) doing their jobs! On top of all of this, their labeled prices are never consistent with what the register rings up. We have to remember the prices of all of our items and then argue with the cashier and have them do a price check to get our items at their advertised prices. The entire store, save for a handful of people, needs an attitude check. If they don't like doing their job, then they should quit and give us all a much needed break from their immaturity and poor work ethic. Pros: walking distance to my house Cons: employees, produce, correct prices, unusual items more

Do you like rude people? 8/3/2009

A few weeks ago I encountered a very rude employee of this store who told me she didn't have to answer my question and that she didn't give a d*** and didn't have to because she was ""off the clock."" Bringing this to the attention of the store management and of the national office resulted in no response from either. Went back tonight for the first time since then and realized the woman I encountered several weeks ago has been giving customer service lessons to the rest of the staff. If you want to waste a lot of time and be treated discourteously, this is the store for you. It's less than two blocks from my home and I am never going back. Pros: Convenient, good variety Cons: A staff of extremely rude people more
