Best

All of their donuts are great, plain glazed is like a taste of heaven. I am not a big donut person, these are more like dessert to me than breakfast.

Worst

I don't understand the hype around Krispy Kreme. Their dounts are greasy and weak. If you want a real donut go to the original....Shipley's.

better than shipleys 4/12/2012

Great doughnuts and the best for Houston. Shipley's would be my second choice more

For some reason I like krispy kreme better than shipley's.. Also Shipley's donuts don't taste very good cold.. Krispy Kreme donuts taste good hot or cold. Pros: yummy, melts in your mouth, fun to watch Cons: fatty, addictive! more

Shipley is better? Whatever! 1/12/2003

Just because something is from Texas doesn't make it automatically better. I'm into all things Texan, but I'm sorry I love Krispy Kreme donuts. What it all really boils down to is taste. Buy what you like and I like Krispy Kreme! more

Shipley's Donuts are better 1/11/2003

Krispy Kreme donuts are not bad, but Shipley's Donuts are better. The whole donut is of a better hand made quality and when they are fresh and hot, they will melt in your mouth. Krispy Kreme donuts are never going to reach the quality of Shipley's Donuts. Another good thing is that Shipley's Donuts is from Texas and has been serving the Lone Star State for many years now. more

Krispy Freak's 1/10/2003

Anybody who would drive and/or stand in line for 30 minutes to get a donut needs therapy. IT'S JUST A FREAK'IN DONUT!! You'd do just as well sticking your face in a bag of sugar. more

Originated in NC 1/9/2003

Krispy Kreme is the best. It originated in North Caroline not New York as another reviewer stated. Fresh from the glaze waterfall is best. more

Krispy Krack....heart attack! The long lines tell the story. Where else do you find lines out the door at 6:30 in the morning on a weekend. Pros: ummmmmmm, glaze more

Great Doughnuts!!! 11/10/2002

Great doughnuts, good value. These are definitely not overrated. Plain glaze are best, rather fresh or sitting around for a while. Shipley's are good fresh, but don't stand well. more

New Yark? 11/8/2002

It did not not orginate in New York you moron, Krispy Kreme hot donuts are the best. Shipley's is great for variety though more
