Excellent Doctor 11/22/2011

I have been a patient of Dr. Kano for 2 years. I am a 30 year old woman and have never had a better doctor. Dr. Kano has been my primary care doctor, as well as helping me with depression and anxiety issues and also does my annual exam. \r \r Her staff has always been professional and nice. I will miss seeing this doctor and will be lucky to find one half as good as Dr. Kano when I relocate. more

Best Doctor I've Ever Had 4/11/2011

I've been lucky enough to have Dr. Kano as my physician for at least 8 years now. She is always engaged, patient, caring and informative. She listens like no other doctor I've ever been to. She has never prescribed medication without merit; in fact she likes to peruse non-medication routes whenever possible. (Like B6 to help my carpel tunnel!) And, she’s taught me how to take better care of myself. (Sinus rinse for allergies)\r \r I do miss Pat, but have never had any problem with the front desk staff. Dolores can be professional to the point of being brusque, but she's never been rude and I agree that she's an excellent phlebotomist. \r \r I like that Dr. Kano has a small one-woman office. You always see her. She always gives me all the time I may need and answers every question I have. She’s thorough and caring. Everything I look for in a physician. Heck, half of my office mates go to her now. more

announcement 3/21/2011

Just letting the readers know that I now have a new receptionist who is very nice. She is learning, so be nice to her, but she comes with glowing recommendations. \r I think I am a pretty good doctor, but I don't expect to be the perfect fit for everyone. I am thorough and try to listen. I've been in solo practice now for 25 years and have managed to keep most of my patients satisfied with my care and caring. I appreciate the kind and warm positive reviews that were submitted. more

Good doctor, bad staff 2/15/2011

I was a patient of Doctor Kano for 2 years and I adored her! Her praise here is well deserved and she is an amazing doctor technically and socially. Her staff on the other hand leave much to be desired. Very poor phone etiquette, foul language, and a hair trigger temper. No matter how many times I tried to be nice to her, tell jokes, make small talk, she was always terribly rude. While I longer live in Denver, and thus not even sure that this woman at the front desk still works there, I can only give Dr. Kano three stars. I know this may seem unfair, but I feel that when rating doctors here, I want to give others a clear picture of the entire experience. Take the bits you need and chuck the rest. more

Great Doc 1/18/2011

Dr Kano came highly recommended to me, their office was easily accessible and I was treated very well, the entire staff was friendly and courteous, I will continue to go to Dr Kano, as I feel she is a wonderful physician. more

personal care... a rare find! 5/16/2008

I am also shocked at the bad review. i was a patient of dr kano's for around 5 years and recently had to find another provider when i got on my husband's insurance plan after the birth of my son. i haven't been able to find another doctor who gives you as much time and personalized care during appointments. and i really miss their small office where the staff makes an effort to get to know you. i especially can't imagine anyone saying such a mean thing about delores, who always impressed me with both her efficiency & skill as a nurse and her ability to remember what you chatted about at your last appointment.... even if a year had passed. She even recognizes my voice on the phone. i'm not only a bit of a germaphobe (dr kano's office is very clean!) i'm also a person who can't be loyal to hairdressers, restaurants, or shops. i'm always looking for the perfect thing. so it's really rare to find a place like dr, kano's office. as soon as i'm back to full-time i will be going back to my previous insurance and back to the best doctor i've ever had. Pros: great care, wonderful nurse, small personal atmosphere more

Shocked at Bad Review 3/28/2008

I LOVE Dr. Kano and can't possibly see how someone could not. Granted you can't please everyone but I feel strongly enough about her as my physician that I need to post my response. She is a caring and kind person with a great bedside manner. I picked her from a list off my insurance website and couldn't believe that I lucked out in finding her. I have found her staff to be equally as caring. Her new offices are bright and clean. She has never ""thrown meds"" at me and always has a suggestion (or several) for non-pharmaceutical options for anything I see her about. That is one of the reasons I have kept her as my PC for so long. I would recommend her to anyone that asks. Pros: Caring, Compassionate Cons: Nothing more

don't understand bad review 3/6/2008

I was very surprised to read the bad review on Dr. Kano's office. I LOVE Dr. Kano and the entire staff. Delores is a skilled phlebotomist. My veins roll and collapse and I've often left doctor's offices looking like some sort of junkie from all the puncture marks. Delores hits the vein first time every time and with no discomfort. The entire staff is friendly, helpful and responsive. I love that Dr. Kano takes the time to chat and understand exactly what's going on. I consider this office the best I've been to in years. more

In my defense... 6/8/2007

This may not be the most appropriate forum, but as Dr Kano, with one scathing review, I feel the need to defend myself. Yes I recommended myself 'high' because I do care about my patients, but I know that I will not please everyone. \r First of all, I am very sorry that the reviewer had such a negative experience at my office. \r I will be moving to a brand new (sparking clean) office at 1255 19th St. suite #102, on July 9th, so I hope this addresses the first issue. As for my staff, I feel that they are personable, competent, and dependable, but you can't like everyone. At least they are likely to be the same people who have worked for me for many years, and not someone who will only be around for 6 months. \r There is NO compensation for any medications that I recommend or sample.\r I try my best to provide personal service to my patients, and I try to be compassionate. I try not to rush patients through and feel strongly about preventive medicine. I'm afraid that I missed the mark with this woman, and apologize for her bad experience. I hope she finds an physician/office that will address her issues much better than I was able to. Pros: Takes time to listen Cons: sometimes goes over due to listening too long more

Bad customer communication, miserable and unhappy staff 5/16/2007

The office staff is what really hurts her office. Delores is downright rude and impersonal. When she asks you to get on the scale she has the Madge Simpson smokers voice. She acts like working there is the last thing she wants to do. The office is dirty and the Pam isn't very friendly either. When it comes to money matters they are extremely rude. Have a small balance? She will glare at you as if to say, We can't see you until you pay your 40 cent balance. They don't seem to understand that it is expensive having any disability or disease even with insurance. I feel as though I'm bothering them to get medical attention. Dr. Kano seems to throw meds at you left and right which I realized I didn't need. She's constantly pushing meds like acid reflux medication and allergy meds that I don't need. But you have to pull teeth to get the meds that you do need!!!! It seems to me that she must get a comission on meds like that. When you are getting a pap smear she will go on and on about cervical cancer while she's examining you. I don't know how tactful it is to talk about a disease that I don't have because all it does is stress you out the entire time..then you have to wait over a week to get your results back to find that there was never anything wrong with you, she was just making small talk. My biggest problem with how Dr.Kano conducts her office is that when you get your test results in for any disease THEY CALL YOU AT WORK!! What Doctor in their right mind would ever call you at work with test results! I don't want to get any news at work that I'm dying or have an incurable disease...Simply poor taste in my eyes. I don't reccomend Dr. Kano. She would do so much better working at a hospital than having her own office. Pros: nothing Cons: dirty office, rude staff more
