The ""J"" rocks because there are so many class offerings that I stay motivated to get my workouts in. Three days a week, I get great, yet different cardio workouts in so I don't get bored and then 3 days a week, I can do muscle/free weights with a Body Pump class or on my own. The ""J"" keeps me coming and they offer so many different times and different classes to make my workouts fun and enjoyable. I also enjoy the other members with its family inviting atmosphere! I really love going to my health club and leave feeling I've done the right thing for ME. more

I also had a horrible experience with this facility! Not everyone inside of this place was awful to me just the majority.. Management gave me a two day pass to test out their fitnest gym, well when I tell you all most all the members treated me so cold hearted! It was like i was an infection trying to spread the disease.. As I approached the hot tub everyone got out! It was around 3 ladies in there, after that I no longer desired to relax in the hot tub. I proceeded on to the steamroom which is called the suna and as I opened the door I was moved out of the way by more ladies that made it real clear that they didn't want to be in there the same time as me. Yes my feeling were hurt and I quickly made the decision not to do a membership there...... If I'm going to pay 70.00 dollars a month which included my two daughters, I want to at least feel comfortable in my surrounding.... Like I said everyone wasn't so bad just the majority! more

My grandson has had a horrible experience with the child care.\r Even with a tuition of $850 a month and only being there\r 2- 3 partial days a week, there have been at least 4 occaisions\r and 3 workers who put the 16 month old in a baby bed and leave\r him there in order to control his physical movements in the room.\r We will be finding a new day care ASAP and are upset to think\r that we have trusted this facility with our loved one. more

To paraphrase an old advertisement, you don't have to be Jewish to like the Birmingham Jewish Community Center. People of all faiths enjoy the large facility located adjacent to the affluent community of Mountain Brook. There is a beautiful fitness center which offers excellent hours and amenties comparable to an upscale gym. The Center has both outdoor and indoor pools, gymnasium, classes of all sorts, summer camp programs, theatrical productions, tennis courts, ball fields and lots more. In conjunction with the Center, there is a preschool, as well as the N.E. Miles Jewish Day School which goes from 1st to 8th grade. more
