She was very informative of the neighborhoods and the overall quality of the homes. She never led us to something that was out of our price range. I went to Select My Space to find my apartment and they were great! All I did was go to their website and started searching. I was able to see interior pictures and get pricing on so many places. The I just gave them a call and set up an appointment and they took me out and found me my dream (rental) home and it was free. I recommend them to ALL of my friends that are looking to move in Birmingham. I wish they had a Select My Space in every city in America.

I have lived at the Meadows of Brook Highland for almost three years now. The grounds are very well kept. After the hurricanes they landscapers were on site the next morning cleaning up debris. They keep their apartments in good shape and are quick on any and all repairs. The office staff is very friendly and are available for residential needs as well as a quick chat about the weather. They have always taken amazing care of us and I can't see us moving to another community before we purchase our house.

Jean Worsham is actually the best real estate agent ever! When my husband and I were first looking for a house, we called about one Jean was listing. She offered to be our buyer's agent. Several other agents had offered as well, but they never followed up and sent us anything like they had promised. Jean very quickly sent us listings for houses in the areas we specified. Jean was so patient with us through the entire project. We were very picky and cheap, too, so her job was not easy! She took us to look at house after house, never once getting exasperated by us! She did find our dream home for us, though. Perfect, and better than we expected to be able to afford. She did all the paperwork and explained things to us about the whole real estate project. As this was our first house, we were completely clueless when it came to buying a home. She held our hands through the entire contract process, purchase, inspection and closing. She even brought us a housewarming gift to closing! She also followed up twice after closing to make sure everything was ok! She is so great. We have recommended her many times and everyone who uses her has been pleased. If we ever sell or buy a house again, she will be the agent we use!

Plaza Square Apartments is located in near five points south in B'ham. The apartments are one bedroom, and have new appliances, including a dishwasher. Each one has a balcony with flower boxes. They were all refurbished about two years ago, so they are in good shape. The best part is that the electric and water bills are included in the rent, which is 575 per month. Being so close to southside, it can be noisy at times. However, being so close also makes it easy to walk to restaurants, stores, bars, parks, etc.

These are the luxury apartments located just off of HWY 31 in Homewood, just across from the Brookwood hospital and the mall (a plus!). I lived here for a year, and moved out because it was so expensive! The apartments are nice, yes, but very cookie-cutter and not very personable. They have a pool and a small work-out area, as well as a game room. This is a good place for students and young couples, not families.

Redmont Gardens is an okay apartment complex. It is located in English Village and super convenient to downtown, restaurants, shopping, etc. While it is convenient, the apartment complex itself is out of date. The apartments do not have central heat and AC (they only have a window unit). Additionally, the bathrooms are very small, as are the closets. The kitchen has probably not been updated for 40+ years (has mini-ovens, no ice maker, no disposal, etc.). The washer and dryers are located in another building, and it can be difficult to find a parking spot. While the apartments are quaint, they are difficult for living in 2006. For the size and amenities, the apartments are very expensive. The tenants are definitely paying for the location, so don't expect luxury living.
