This is one of the top notch libraries in Alabama. From the, of course, wide selection of books to check-out to the extensive video, DVD, and CD collection. There is also a nice store called "Friends of the Library" where you can either donate books to support the library or purchase used books. It's a good place to pick up kids books. Great for studying too.

My husband and I were contacted to paint the vetrens hospital here in B'Ham
we worked up a price and was told after we completed the E.R area we would be paid not only did we pay out of our pocket for the paint we also hired 2 ppl.
the E.R looks fabulous and it's going on three weeks we have yet to get paid
and cannot get a response we have called 2 weeks straight . whats going on? we have kids and this money means weather they will eat or not. why can we not get our money? we worked and earned it. whats going on up there. you will not hear the last of me. scorned mother.

Since everyone might need a little private counseling at some point, let me highly recommend the staff at Gateway. They offer services for young and old, and the therapists are extremely caring and capable. We used them for elder care assistance and were highly impressed with the discreetness and care they took with the patient. They also service children and families, and have been doing wonderful work for many years. They are located just outside of the bustling Southside of Birmingham, and there is a small parking lot (which can get full quickly, but I've never had problems finding street parking). The staff at Gateway is fantastic.

I started seeing Ms. White for a difficult problem. She comes across as non-judgmental, nice, and genuinely interested in trying to help you solve your problem. She doesn't seem interested in talking about herself or delving into issues that you do not wish to resolve. She understands that time is money and that you are there for a specific problem. She gives you specific assignments and then plans and plots ways to help you become better.
I would not recommend Ms. White if you just want someone to talk to about issues affecting your life, without resolution. I would recommend Ms. White to someone who just want to resolve an issue in their life without delay. If a psychologist with a strategy and a plan for recovery is what you seek, I highly recommend Ms. White.
Update: I think Ms. White is good, but she had a plan and her plan often did not include you talking about what you felt was important to talk about on a given day.

I can not begin to say enough nice things about the Shelby County Library System. There are roughly 8 libraries in the county and you are able to request books via the website and the book truck brings them to your home library. You can also renew books on line as well as check the catolog before going to the library. North Shelby is my home library. It is the nicest one in my opinion that I have ever been too. It's easy to navigate and the children's section has a great setup including a Doby doll!

If you are looking for a spirit filled lively active church visit this one. They have an awesome praise and worship team. They have an awesome children and youth department. This church is multi-cultural and all races are welcomed. This church is very faith based. Due to the size of the church it is difficult to get to know individual members but collectively it is a very friendly place to worship.

My family have been members at Discovery United Methodist Church for several years now. We love this church. Dress is very casual (come as you want). If you choose, you can wear jeans, shorts, t-shirt or anything. There is no offering plate passed around, it is at the door and a token between you and God. We sing contemporary Christian songs, this is a fun experience and you really feel good when you leave the service.
Only thing I don't like is that we were a smaller church when I started there and now it has grown to 3 services and there is just so many people now that it is hard to know everyone and hard to keep up with all of the activities going on. If you miss a couple weeks of church, you are completely lost as to the activities.
I just don't believe that everyone is informed enough of the activities going on but other than that....I love Discovery.
