Unique atmosphere, comforting food, great service! 7/9/2007

At first, cajun did not sound special, but since this place was recommended by a local person, we went. Good decision! All the hot sauce bottles on the walls and about thirty of them on each table created very unique characteristics. The food was great, very comforting and satisfying. Too bad we don't live closer. more

This Place Has Down Home Cookin' and I'm damn Good Lookin' 10/26/2006

The breakfast here is the truth. Get the bananas foster french toast and you will be in Heaven...on Seven (literally). I went with this hot little number, who got the crawfish and it was a warm southern treat in the midst of a cold, miserable, depressing winter. more

Average-nothing special 4/9/2006

The food was ok. Nothing you just HAVE to have. The service was ok. Not overly friendly. I had the coconut shrimp--ok, spicy--and a corn muffin--not impressed, a little dry. It was cool to see all the hot sauces on the wall, but other than that nothing special. more

Not as hot as I expected. but Tasty as Hell 8/4/2005

I walked into Heaven on Seven with the expectations of having blisters on my tongue when I left. This was not the case, but the flavor of the food was great. I had the Catfish Po' Boy with Gumbo and Potato soup. The soups were amazingly delicious. I think that I could have walked away happy on the soups alone. The sandwich was too big to eat as a sandwich. The fish was tasty. You are surrounded by an enormous supply of various hot sauces (about 25 bottles) to choose from if you need that extra kick to your food. Good stuff. Avoid lunch crowds by eating around 11 or after 1. Make sure to pay attention for the signs because this place is hidden and out of the ordinary as far as diners are concerned. Pros: Great Food, Great Service, Fun environment more

Too much hype 3/11/2003

The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing, and the decor and ambience were similarly mediocre. It's a fun restaurant, but there are much better places in this price range. There's too much hype...people feel obligated to say good things about this restaurant because of how much it pushes itself, but it's not the best. more

A far cry from heaven 3/1/2003

I was excited to try this place out because I'd heard a lot of good things about it & was promised it was ""authentic cajun fare."" But it seems as though all the hot sauces on the walls are for show - this was the blandest cajun food I've ever had. I've got to give credit to the staff for fast, excellent service even though the place was packed, though.. Pros: Good, fast service, Generous portions Cons: Bland food, Eye-stinging decor, Long wait more

absolutely delicious 7/31/2002

One of the best bugers in the city, their lunch time special couple with a cup of gumbo. Absolutely delicious more

Horrible parking 5/30/2002

But the food was very good. My Mother and I went in the early afternoon, so we were seated right away. Maybe check out the latest movie since the theater is in the same building. Cons: parking meters, valet/self parking $$ more
