Avoid this place at all costs! The doorman are totally unscrupulous, they charged me a cover because I have an out of state ID. No one else in my party paid a cover charge. Then once I walked into the bar, the bartenders began to Harass me into buy drinks and shots, I calmed explained I am not drinking tonight I am the designated driver. Once, explaining that they said then get out, why are you here if you're not going to buy drinks, which they then called over the bounces to toss me out of the bar. My personal opinion is its all because of my out of state ID, because I wasn't even talking to anyone, or drinking at all. SO AGAIN, AVOID AT ALL COSTS UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE VERBALLY AND PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED FOR NO REASON. more

On our way out of the bar (coats on and exiting), a bouncer confused our friend with someone else and told one of the other bouncers to kick him out. It was just 3 of us girls and 1 husband at this point. The bouncer then shoved one of the girls in our group. She fell back fortunately catching herself on the stair handle. One of our other friends said to the bouncer ""hey, she's a girl"" and the bouncer replied to her that ""I have no problem hitting a girl"" in a rude and threatening tone. Several other bouncers arrived to the scene. They kept telling us to leave, but they were blocking our pathway to the exit. The bouncers completely overreacted and created an unnecessary dramatic situation. We had a drink there, but were far from being drunk. To have fun at this bar, you probably need to be wasted. Regardless of how trashy a dive bar is, the bouncers have no right to be that physcially rough with anyone especially petite harmless girls. On the night of 12/12/09, the bouncers beat up and bloodied my boyfriend in a dark alley after physically escorting him out. His only offense was thinking he was free to dance with me. The bouncers would not let me or a mutual friend escort him out the front, insisting on removing him to the dark alley where there would be no witnesses. We called the cops, who not surprisingly were corrupt. They said they spoke to 5 staffers of the bar before they even arrived. These staffers claimed my boyfriend jumped on their back, which is a total lie as he did not resist AT ALL. What a miserable experience! Cons: Violent staff and management more

This was a great way to end our night - cheap drinks, loud music, everyone just having a good time. The music upstairs was mainstream dance/rap, downstairs 80's and classics - what more could you ask for very very late on a Saturday night? Of course there are some creepy people there but mostly it's just a mix of younger and older having a good time. Open late so you know where to go to end the night. If you're going make sure you don't mind loud music and being jostled by a crowd. more

The Hang Up is a must-stop-at while in Chicago. The drinks are great, the atmoshpere screams fun and the service is awesome. When in the bar make sure you meet Sergio...the best bartender ever! Everyone should experience the hang up! Pros: service, drinks, atmosphere Cons: bathrooms! more

Place was packed with bachelorette parties and the downstairs is so full of people you feel like a sardine, but the service was really good, with the waitresses coming out into the crowd with your drinks. There were definitely more girls than guys, but they played nothing but girl songs. Women's bathroom gets backed up and I know this because we were hanging out near the men's bathroom and we kept letting girls in to the men's bathroom and watching the door for them. $2 cover worth it. Had to wait in line to get in, but not for too long. more
