Obnoxious salesperson 9/7/2012

Travis is the most obnoxious salesperson one would ever meet, and the fact this store hired such a clueless douchebag, who pretends to know about music gear and music, reflects very poorly on the management of this store. more

I went here to find a case for my ukulele. The guy barely acknowledged my presence, then said, ""No, I'm out of cases....."" Then he simply turned away from us. Did not ask what else he could help me with, did not say he could order one for me and have it brought in. ...NOTHING. In fact, I thought he was going to say something else, but after turning away from me, he simply walked out of the ukulele room and left my husband and I there w/o nary another word. What poor service!!! Rude! Will I go back? Nope. There are many other nice shops that offer guitar service and products. I luckily found Dusty Strings up in the Fremont area and they are very knowledgeable about ukes. Pros: parking Cons: Service, Attitude more

Walmart of Guitars - good and bad 8/3/2007

Yep, it?s the Walmart of guitars! I?ve been there several times and talked to several of the staff before ? some of them made my soul hurt, but at least one of them was helpful. The key is to know what you want before you go in there! It?s just like going to a Best Buy or any big box store, do your research beforehand and TELL them what you want, don?t ask their opinion. Don?t buy an $800 guitar if you?re just starting out. Don?t pay $40 for a chromatic tuner when you know that the $15 one will be fine. Know your guitars, know your strings/amps/accessories before you go in and you?ll do great. You can get better prices online, but if you need to try something out (like a guitar) then head over here they?ve got so many that they?ll probably have what you want at a good price. If you buy it there or at a real guitar shop is up to you. If you?re looking for a guitar on the cheap and don?t know much about them, I?d buy here over a pawn shop. 30 day money-back and manufacture warranty on all guitars. Pros: They've got soooo much stuff Cons: Agressive sales tactics, preying on newbies more

the K-Mart of instrumnents 6/20/2005

yes. their prices are good. yes. they have good sales. yes. they are a BIG BIG corporate monster out to eat the little independant music shop. If price matters more to you than supporting your local economy, then by all means shop here. PROS: good prices CONS: CORPORATE BEAST!!! more

Guitar Center 4/18/2005

This place is hit or miss when it comes to customer service satisfaction. More than half the time I have a hard time finding help. Other times the store doesn't have what I need. The prices are a bit overpriced and the employees are like slacker car salesmen. With that..they do have a good drum and keyboard room/ section(still overpriced in my book). I have resorted to going to other music stores and I reccommend others to do so as well. more
