The bar has most definitely changed my whole perspective on bars. It's the coolest, funnest place in the whole of the States. I have traveled all around the States and have yet to find a bar quite like this. Everyone is so friendly, from the doorman to the staff and to the clientele. There's something here for everyone regardless of your orientation. Drinks are cheap and strong and the juke box is legendary. If you can't deal with the gay scene and trannies you should come here to broaden your mind (that's directed at you Dallasgirl2-get over yourself!) Personally, I think the staff are great-friendly and very generous with their measures. The atmosphere is like none other. This place is in a league of its own. If you come here once, you'll definitely become a regular! Pros: Broad spectrum of people, you can dress up or dress down-no one will bat an eyelid. Cheap and strong drinks. If you want to know why the bathroom lines are so long, ask the large Hispanic man standing by the pool table. The way I see it, minus the free and discounted drinks, the 12 hours of free jukebox music that I talked the jukebox repairman in to, and saving me from a really bad relationship by bringing out the worst in people- The Grapevine still owes me about $4,500 for rehab. This is a gay-friendly bar, but as long as you don't have an attitude about being gay or straight, you'll have a nice evening. A wide variety of people call this bar their home, and if you like people-watching, this isn't too bad of a place. Be warned, however. If you order drinks at the bar and don't tip with every drink, you'll be refused service, loudly and publicly, and the bartender, a 30-ish gentleman with long hair and a beard, will shout obscenities at you. The clientele? friendly. The staff? Disappointing. Those of us who grew up tipping every other round or at the end of the night will find ourselves out on our ear. My brother goes her often and we tried it once before.....not the best night to try....rainy outside and COMPLETELY packed. So, gave it no thought for months....then decided to get my bro a gift card and went back. My friends and I had so much fun....such a friendly place, patrons and staff. I asked for cucumber water and was laughed at...loved it! Anyway, fun group of people and you never know who you might run into. Looking forward to hanging out on the patio when it gets a little warmer. Watch out for the frozen drinks if you are a light weight like me....they are full of alcohol, but yummy! I love this place! I always have a great time here. They have an awesome patio with lots of trees and a rooftop deck, the best jukebox in town and nice strong drinks. I have never had a problem here with security or any of the patrons. Everyone just comes here to relax and have a good time and not worry about being ""seen"". Their frozen drinks are the best, very strong and refreshing. The decor is funky velvet chairs and cool old light fixtures but they always keep it fresh, every time I'm in I see something new. Having a great time listening to one of the best juke boxes I have seen. Got bumped by a group of drunks that started acting obnoxious. They were friends with the security guard and I got thrown out. I was there for 2 beers for about an hour. they other guys were trashed. The kicker was the tazer he shoved in my face while leaving. He was going to zap both my wife and I. He did look like the type of moron who would sit there for hours wondering what it would be like to zap someone with it. So overall cool place, but security is not too bright. My cousin introduced me to this bar. It's great hangout. Sometimes it is crowded, but it is definitely a good place to people watch. I live in Oklahoma City, but I try to get down there everytime I am in Dallas. The drinks are nice and strong, but aren't expensive. I think my favorite is the frozen bellinis on Sunday for $2! I've been there several times now and have yet to meet anyone there that had that ""meet market"" mentality. It's very relaxed and comfortable. It's definitely someplace you can go to in jeans. I went to this place with my husband and two of his friends last night. It was awful. One of the guys that was with us was groped by a man at this place. It was way too crowded and there were a lot of men ""eyeing"" my husband and his two friends. One odd-looking man was staring at me like he was going to murder me. We hated this place. It's just bad.
