Goyco, Maria A, MD Virginia Highland Primary Care

I have been to this location several times ( unfortunately) due to relocation and convenience. I should have found a better physician a looong time ago. Wait, did I just call her a physician? I have been for different visits; allergies, sinus infections, allergic reaction and foot ailments. All have resulted in the same way. Horrible treatment!! She has absolutely no bedside manner, is rude, inconsiderate, arrogant( which I can't see why??) and thinks that you are a hypochondriac every time you go to see her. She talks down to you and questions everything you say to her and wants to know every name of doctor that has seen you previously to make a judgement. She also places judgement on current medications that you are taking, and tells you how bad it is for you to be taking it! She is very holistic and does not want to dispense medication when needed. It says that she is an M.D. however she doesn't seem to believe in western medicine. You walk out of the office questioning a lot. I will drive out of Atlanta, before I ever go back. However the nurse assistant and desk manager are absolutely kind and helpful. more

Dr. Wadsworth is the worst health care professional I have encountered in my entire life. She was insensitive and belligerent and repeatedly accused me of "wasting her time" with my ailment, which is actually quite painful. She was so rude I actually got up and walked out in the middle of my examination, even though I never received treatment and had to miss work for the appointment. There's no reason for anyone to put up with this kind of behavior from anyone, let alone someone who claims to be a doctor. In addition, both the waiting room and the examination room were dirty, and she was dressed highly inappropriately. She also did not wear a lab coat, scrubs, or a name tag. The physician's assistant, on the other hand, wore scrubs and was professional and caring: I can only hope she gets another job. As for Dr. Wadsworth, I don't believe she should be practicing medicine. No one should treat patients so insensitively. I complained to my insurance company. Hopefully if enough people complain they will drop her from the approved doctor list. I also complained to Dekalb Medical Center, since her office is part of their medical group. I would suggest anyone who has such a bad experience do the same. more

Dr. Wadsworth may know what she talking about as a doctor but she sure doesn't know how to treat her patients as people. I read the review above before I went, but I figured there was no way she could be *that* bad (I've never had a problem with a doctor before). Dr. Wadsworth changed that - she spoke to me as if I were stupid and made me feel like I was wasting her time. I recognize that doctors are busy and that their jobs are being made more and more difficult everyday due to an out of control healthcare system and I don't expect them to "baby" me or fawn all over me. However, I DO expect to be treated with respect and like a competent partner in my own health care. I have never been treated as badly as Dr. Wadsworth treated me by any other primary care doctor. Stay away! more

Virginia Highlands Primary Care is in a very convenient location, in the midst of the restaurant/bar scene. The office generally has openings available if you really need to see them that day, however I would warn anyone that bedside manner is pretty much nonexistant from Dr. Wadsworth. She is efficient and kind, but quite blunt and quick. If you want someone to take the time to listen when you don't quite know what's wrong then you had better head elsewhere. more
