Best

good beer. hot waitress. long wait. lots of people. great experience Pros: hottest staff Cons: long wait for tables

Worst

This place is extremely overpriced for the quality and quanity. There are alot better places around Fenway than this price pig.

Great Place for a Party 8/17/2009

I booked my husband's 30th birthday at Game On and our party was in the lower-level bar. He's a big baseball fan and we were able to watch the Red Sox game on a whole bunch of tv's and had ample seating and tables for all our guests. Best of all, we had access to the visitor's batting cage at Fenway Park and it just made for a fun and unique experience for everyone! The waitstaff went out of their way to offer me assistance throughout the night and were friendly and accommodating without being pushy. In addition, the management made it very easy to book the party and kept consistent communication with me throughout the whole planning process. Though the food was typical bar food that was not special or amazing in any specific way, there was plenty of it and the service was great. Plus, the bar downstairs was huge and the chef and waitstaff were great in helping me with the birthday cake, taking pictures for me, and allowing me to set up the room hours before the party. In short, I would definitely recommend Game On for any type of party for sports fans and feel that it was a really memorable event for my husband and our guests! Pros: Friendly and accommodating waitstaff, tons of space and tvs Cons: Food was good and reasonably priced, but did not stand-out more

Terrible service on busy days 7/27/2009

Look, I get it that this is a great place to be if you are young and strong and can deal with standing in line. I'm disabled -- I use two canes, and every other restaurant I go to will bring me a chair when there's a line and I need to wait, but with these idiots I have to beg for a chair every time, and each time it's like reinventing the wheel, they can't figure out where they keep the extra chairs (by the door nearest the entrance to Fenway) or where to put a chair so it doesn't trip the wait people. Disabled people in wheelchairs will do better because they have somewhere to sit while they wait, but disabled people who aren't in wheelchairs should avoid Game On when things are busy. It makes it worse that when there are only one or two people, the wait is MUCH longer because almost all their tables are for four to six people. If I am going to a game, I wish I could go to Game On, but it's just not worth the bother, so these days I hobble farther to a restaurant that has a few chairs for people who are waiting and lots of tables for two (easy enough to shove two or three of them together for groups -- why can't Game On do this?). Pros: Good on slow days Cons: Totally unhelpful on busy days more

Great place and beautiful servers 7/20/2009

good beer. hot waitress. long wait. lots of people. great experience Pros: hottest staff Cons: long wait for tables more

Great time for Pats game 12/28/2008

Myself and 10 friends went to Game On today to watch the Pats beat the Bills. We had a blast you need to check out the downstairs, we sat upstairs first then realized they had a downstairs WOW they have a ton of TV's and big screens. We could not have had a better time. Then the Pats got knocked out of the playoffs. Now we have to wait till next season to watch football at Game On. We will definitely be here to watch the Red Sox play you can not get a better seat unless you are inside of Fenway Park. Overall it was great. Almost forget the Buffalo Wings are the best in Boston you must try them. Pros: TV's, TV's, TV's and lots of hot girls more

the place to be during the red sox season! 7/30/2008

a few of my friends and I went to Game On! for the first time before the sox/yanks game this past weekend. I heard how crazy it gets in there before the games so i assumed it would take forever for our server to greet us but i was wrong! she was extremely nice & got us very pumped up for the game (not to mention we got pretty buzzed before hand too!!) the music played by the dj was awesome, although at times i couldnt hear what my friend was saying across the table and the food was better than i expected from a sports bar. all in all Game On! is definitely the place to be before the game. if i didn't have to make a train back home after the game i would have gone back to Game On! for round 2!! Pros: good service, fun atmosphere Cons: none that come to mind! more

Great service and fun atmosphere! 7/24/2008

I recently visited Game On! before a Red Sox game and I had so much fun! The atmosphere was welcoming to tourists and the DJ really got the crowd pumped for the Sox game. The service was also excellent. Despite how busy it was my friends and I were still able to sit down and have a meal and drinks before the game!! We really had a great time and I would definitely go back to Game On! next time I'm in town, even if I don't go to a game! Pros: great service, fun atmosphere, all-around great time! more

GAME ON! is #1 7/23/2008

After going to GAME ON! earlier this month i now know why they keep winning Best of Boston! My friends and I had the best time- The service was great, the atmosphere was incredible there wasn't a place i'd rather be than maybe in the Red Sox dug out! If you love sports and a fun night out with your friends you should defiantly check out GAME ON!!! Pros: FUN FUN FUN, EXCELLENT SERVICE EXCELLENT EVERYTHING Cons: nothing more

Best event space!!! 7/8/2008

I just had the best experience at Game On! The company I work for organized an event for us this past weekend. As a huge fan of Game On! And the Red Sox I assumed we would just be hanging out in the down stairs bar with good music and good friends. But to my surprise there was more. Game On! Has just opened the visitors batting cage to be available for events. I can?t believe little old me got the chance to knock a ball in a Fenway batting cage it was AWESOME!! If you?re booking an event soon defiantly look into doing it at Game On! You get food, a great location, great service and a chance to WHACK A BALL IN THE VISITORS BATTING CAGE OF FENWAY PARK! I know I probably sound way to excited about this but not many people can say they have done that???well until now because I?m sure its going to start booking fast! more

A great night out at the game 6/15/2008

Recently my buddies and I went to Game On before and after the Red Sox game this place ROCKS!!! the girls that work there and that frequent the place are smoking hot. As married men me and my freinds loved the scenery. The music they played was great and the food was suprisingly good for a sports bar. I can guarantee that this will be the place we go every time we are going to a game. more

Hottest Staff I have ever seen, Good Service 6/13/2008

I went to Game On last night for The Red Sox/Celtics game, and let me tell you everything was excellent. The place always getys really packed so I expected that but the way the service was, you would have thought i was the only one in the restaurant. Not to mention the girls that work there, they all are a 10 and not a lot of places are like that. The food was pretty good to, but a little overpriced which is understandable for fenway park/ boston in general. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GAME ON FOR ANY SPORTS EVENT, you really feel like your there Pros: Hot Girls, Good Food, Good Drinks, 2 Floors more

Great pizza, Hot Girls, Great Dj 6/12/2008

This was my first time going to Game On for a Celtics Game the other night ( Tuesday 2008 ) I would have to say it was as if we were at the Game. The staff and the crowd of people mad it think as if we were right there. The Dj, did an amazing job keeping the croad into the game during the commerical and during half time. Ther food was your typical bar food, but was actually better then most. For now on, i know where to go see a sports game. My friends and i truely fell in love with this place. Good times. Pros: Hot girls. good music, alot of TV Cons: Trying to get into the place, You have to get there early more

Great place to watch any game that is on! Amazing Service! Great Food! Wonderful experiences 6/12/2008

Was at the Red Sox Game last nigt and had yet another great experience at Game On! The server we had knew everything she needed to know and was on top of everything. When we first walked there was a beer tub right there. It was amazing. We didnt even have to wait to get a drink. It was right there. I would highly suggest this place before a game! Great experience!!!!! Pros: Great service, good looking girls, great food Cons: Fenway Park people more

AVOID 11/30/2007

Maybe u will get over the lazy bouncers that think they are da awesomeness... If u are tryin to go for an international crowd this is not your place. Bouncers think that they can own the place just cuz they are not capable of doing anything else but to reject people. They have no rationality what so ever...they just like to be in charge. Pros: none Cons: bitter people thinking they can own you. They dont even communicate with eachother so do not make any sense. more

Horrible service, ok food if they get it right...and that is just the beginning 11/29/2007

Game On Boston. I have been here a few times, mainly because it close to my work or someone is curious about its newness. The hostesses and wait staff, though pleasant have very little knowledge of their own menu. The website and its menu have never been in sinc. I genuinely try and avoid 'Lame On' as I and many I know refer to it as, as often as possible. Its new, its near Fenway, they have big TVs...but thats about it. The employees are more concerned about talking to one another, or how they look and less about the customer who is waiting...over an hour once for breakfast in an empty restaurant!?! Needless to say our company (party of 8) left that morning without eating. And I believe thay have some wierd in flux time between 10am and like 11-1130am that they dont serve breakfast or lunch? I dunno, just a heads up. Other problems I have had are: take out orders are constantly wrong, was told 'there is no way to apply a tip when using a gift card' (this was on a take out order mind you), and the downstairs is obnoxiously loud. Service is always slow as hell, I can not stress this enough. The lunches I have had are decent, but the entress are waaay over priced, would never have dinner here. If 'Lame On' were a team, it would definitely be in last place and in need of some serious help. Pros: Close to Fenway Cons: Service, knowledge and experience more

Great Time! 10/8/2007

I went to Game On last friday night to watch the start of March Madness. I always thought Game On was only good during RedSox season but friday night was a lot of fun. We split nachos, buffalo wings, and the spinach dip, all were very good. Our waitress was fun too. She came by often enough to fill our beers but wasn't hanging over our shoulder. Everyone seemed to be having a good time...even the staff. It's not often you visit a bar where the staff is having as much fun as the patrons. I will definitely be visiting Game On again! Go Sox! Pros: 3 Bars and Multiple TVs Cons: parking more

The best sports bar ever 9/19/2007

This is the hands down the greatest sports bar in Boston or anywhere else. The staff is great the female bartenders here are super hot, but they are real bartenders not like other place who have good looking staff bot have no clue what they are doing (gypsy revolution felt etc...). Plus the guy bartenders there are wonderfull, funny (sometimes outragessly so Jaimie and Joe work upstairs together and are two of this city's best bartenders and plaffoff each other it is a riot) and know how to make a great cocktail. So if you want great food awesome drinks hot bar staff and a ton of fun go here. Oh yeah they also have evry friggin game on about 100 + tv's Pros: Sox Games Pats games hot staff Cons: Sox games get in early for football long lines more

Great New Year's Party! 1/11/2007

I was at Game On New Year's Eve for the second year in a row and had a great time!! The music was awesome and the food and dessert buffet were great. I came in with a group of 12 people and had no problem getting right through the door. We were checked off the list and given a wrist band within 5 minutes of arriving. The staff was awesome and the bartenders always made sure I had a drink in my hand. The vibe in the room was great too. By about 11pm, everyone was dancing downstairs. I look forward to many more parties like this at Game On! It's nice to know there is a place in Boston where you can watch sports and drink beer and then go and dance and party late night. Pros: great party atmosphere! great service! Cons: none more

Ridiculous 1/2/2007

Maybe this bar is good on a random night, but on New Years eve they kept everyone outside for 45 minutes before they let anyone in. The issue here is that A. there were only about 20 people in line and B. everyone in line had prepaid for reservations for the New Years party. No real explanation was given by the staff there. Unfortunate. Pros: Nice Location Cons: Rude Staff, Rerservations not honored more

Best Sports Bar 10/26/2006

I used to go here regulary during basketball season and it is a great place to watch a game, have a beer, and flirt with attractive staff. If your game is not on, ask someone to put it on and they will. The menu is so so, all apps are good EXCEPT the wings which are average, nachos with big papi salsa is average, but the cuban sandwich & steak tips are great, salads are good, burgers are good, pizza is average. Some people find it pricey, but I have to disagree, I have been here for 3 hours, had draft beer and apps between 3 people and stayed under $80 with tip. As good as it gets in Kenmore. Pros: TVs, you can actually hear the game, music during commercials Cons: average menu more

Drink, not eat 6/25/2006

Definately the place to get pumped up before a Sox game. However, eat before you get here. Very limited menu, slightly overpriced at that. I've been a few times before Sox games, and it seems like they play the same videos on the HD tv's downstairs everyday. At that, it was very loud downstairs, and when 6pm rolled around, they DID NOT turn on audio to the Sox pregame. It was on TV, as was many other events, but you couldn't hear it. Instead they played humerous (not to me, as I had seen them there the last time) clips from TV shows, and new music videos. Otherwise, it's a good place to drink. The bar is huge, and they have a bar off to the side (both upstairs & downstairs) where you can get drinks quick. But downstairs, there's only 2 toilets (1 urinal & 1 stall) in the men's bathroom! What's up with that???!!! Pros: Easy to get a drink Cons: Very loud more

  • The Scene
The Lyons Group (Kings, Avalon) has renovated a former bowling alley into a thoroughly modern sports cafe. Nestled into the side of Fenway Park, Game On! combines a cutting-edge sports bar atmosphere (more than 90 plasma and high-definition screens) with upscale comfort fare (wood-fired pizzas, steaks, chops, fresh fish). Patrons fill a sunny outdoor patio or head inside to drink and dine throughout the establishment's two levels (12,000 square feet).

    The Food
Twin kitchens churn out classic American fare, and the lengthy menu runs the gamut from straightforward starters (authentic buffalo wings) to intricate entrees like seared jumbo sea scallops with goat cheese risotto. Heaping plates of nachos and fried calamari are ideal for groups, as are brick oven pizzas. (Offbeat toppings include spicy lamb, brie and Philly cheese steak.) Hearty diners skip burgers and sandwiches in favor of marinated steak tips and New York strips.
