I can't wait to go back. 7/14/2011

My mother and I decided to go here for my birthday dinner. We didn't have a reservation, but on a Thursday night we got a table immediately. I mentioned to the hostess that I have a gluten allergy, and she gave me a gluten free menu. I ordered the New Zealand lamb chops medium rare, and they were great. I have had lamb before, so I'm able to compare and the chef definitely did an above average job here. My mother ordered the lite filet mignon (6oz) and said it was cooked perfectly. I also ordered a side of sauteed spinach, which was pretty good. I did find a rubber band in my food (one of the purple ones used for food) but decided not to complain and set in on my plate; accidents happen. However, after our server took our plates, he came back and mentioned the rubber band, and told us that the ~$40 lamb chops were now on the house. That certainly makes up for a small mistake in the kitchen! Before he brought the check, he gave me a card and a box of four amazing chocolate truffles from the restaurant as a birthday gift. The restaurant and our server did an admirable job of catering to my food allergy, and I recommend Fleming's to anyone sensitive to gluten, or just looking for a good meal. I'd say the prices, while certainly high, are just about justified. more

I like steak 7/4/2011

sat on the patio, it was really nice out. the food was better than i remembered although my steak was slightly overcooked. not too bad and it was still delicious. Server was not so good but luckily he dissapeared for most of the night.haha i would recomend for outside atmosphere and food more

Pretty good but not as good as I was hoping 7/5/2010

We have quite a few steakhouses here in Raleigh... Angus Barn, The Mint, Sullivans, Ruths Chris, The Reserve at the TPC Wakefield Plantation etc... Flemings is adjacent to the or part of the Crabtree Valley Mall next to two also new restaurants. While the place is nice and new the food was just so/so... I had a Beef Carpacio for an appetizer which was very good but right next door at Brio I had one that was fanstastic. So I would say really good but not the best. For my steak I ordered a bone in ribeye... normally this is a great steak... The meat was slightly below what I expected for roughly a $40 steak, didnt seem like it was prime to me. In addition to sub-par meat quality it just lacked flavor of a appropriately seasoned bone in rib eye. Cocktails were excellent at least they have a good bartender and the service was polite. My biggest issue is that for these prices I am expecting a great meal I mean bordering fantastic and I got a pretty good meal but the steak was borderline texas roadhouse and they charge $18 for their ribeye... Better choice would be Sullivan's downtown or the best choice would be The Reserve @ TPC Wakefield if your a member or know one.. You will pay top $ but won't be dissapointed! Pros: Nice place and its good to have something new in town. Cons: Not the best around here... more

Spend your money elsewhere 12/30/2009

We have eaten there twice in the past 7-8 months. It's a great-looking restaurant, but the food is worse than average and the prices are high. Service is indifferent. Our first experience was not good, but we decided to give them a second chance. No improvements were evident. Save your money, what can you expect from a shopping mall restaurant? Pros: Decor Cons: Food, cost more

Great food, modern decor, wonderful experience 11/14/2009

I am an expert on steakhouses and I thought Fleming's was fantastic. Great steaks, atmosphere, and service. The Wedge Salad was the best I have had. The bleu cheese was very fresh as was the chilled seafood appetizer. We chose the Mac N cheese, corn and Fleming's Potatoes as side dishes and they were perfect. I had the peppercorn sauce on my Ribeye and it was delicious. The wines were also very good, served and were served at the correct temperature. Overall, I was very happy. I frequent the Raleigh/Cary steak houses and this was my favorite. Be prepared that is is also the most expensive of the lot of them but I thought it was well worth it if money is not your concern. Pros: great steaks, top notch service Cons: expensive more

Great Dinner 9/18/2009

We went to this place last night for my wife's 26th birthday. We were greeted by the hostess and immediately she acknowedged my wife's birthday which was a very nice touch I thought. We were sat at the front of the restaurant near the kitchen, and when our server Janet greeted us she immediately offered to move us to a very nice booth. It was later in the evening and she wanted us to be away from the noise of the kitchen. She showed us to what she called a "maphia booth". I felt like we were in a scene from the movie "Casino". We absolutely loved this romantic table, and the fact that we could see the whole restaurant from our vantage point. I definitely recommend requesting one of these tables. The food, service and atmosphere were among the best we've had in the triangle. The bread and spreads in the beginning are a nice touch, the bone in fillet mignon melts in your mouth, andthe baked potato was HUGE. We didn't have room for deserts but I'm sure they're delicious, based on everything else we ate. A nice touch to the evening, they brought out these homemade truffles and a birthday card at the end of the meal. We will definitely be back. It is a little pricey, so be prepared to have a lighter wallet at the end, but it was well worth it for a special occasion. Pros: food, atmosphere, service Cons: a little pricey more
