This place is so much fun! The staff has such a good time and makes this a really fun place to eat. Service is always great and they have the best ribs I have ever eaten. I am no BBQ fanatic, but this place has me hooked. Pros: Great ribs, fun staff, family friendly (kids can be loud!) Cons: Long wait most of the time more

went here with a friend and my cousin and it was great. relaxed environment, good outgoing service, and the variety of sauces were fun to try. we ordered a huge platter filled with pretty much everything. the ribs were the best. the pulled pork was too salty, and the corn wasnt seasoned. but the rest was great. cornbread, which isnt really my most favorite food, was really good. moist. also had a side of rib tips... these were FULL of meat. awesome. after lunch went to the car.... forgot my card on the table... out waiter ran out with a huge smile and caught us just in time as we were leaving the parking lot!! would love to come back here Pros: ribs, service Cons: pulled pork more

Not Just Another BBQ Joint! 12/10/2008

I ended up in the Stapleton area and the party I was with asked me to pick a place to eat. I spotted Famous Dave's and suggested we try it. Typical ambiance of a BBQ pit type place, relaxed environment. My iced tea glass was huge and the tea was fresh! They had a choice of 6 BBQ sauces that the waitress spelled out for us on a plate (they spell BAR B Q in the different sauces for you to dip in. I know I am missing a letter, but I can't remember exactly how she did it). The variety in flavors was fantastic! My favorite was the sweet and zesty. I ordered the hickory chicken sandwich. However our waitress brought me a plain slab of grilled chicken and a plan bun. After correcting the issue, I thought the sandwich was great! The chicken was flavorful and moist and the bacon was perfectly chewy. I was also impressed with their special sweet & spicy pickles & the jalapeno mac & cheese. Overall, I was satisfied, the food was prepared well & we had a nice lunch. I am not a BBQ connoisseur, but I would visit Famous Dave's again! Pros: Sweet & spicy pickles, jalapeno mac & cheese, chewy bacon, fresh iced tea & a variety of BBQ sauces to choose from. Cons: My order came out wrong. However the staff was quick to correct it. more

This is award winning BBQ? 8/11/2008

My wife and I decided to try out Famous Dave's BBQ after hearing good reviews online and from friends. The first thing you notice is that Famous Dave's is a traditional sit-down restaurant, not a counter service setup like most BBQ joints have. We sat in the lounge, which ended up being a huge mistake. The wait staff uses the lounge as their little ""hang out"", so we had to deal with a small group of cackling employees having somewhat inappropriate conversations during our meal. more

Great BBQ. Being from Texas I feel that I know BBQ and Dave's got it right. They don't take reservations, but I can understand why. They are always busy, so how could you take reservations. Check it out. Pros: Great food Cons: Can be a wait more

worst bbq place ever 3/23/2008

coming from the south i have a very high standard of real bbq. the tastes of all Dave's items were bland and mediocre at best. the meat was fatty and didn't seemed cooked long enough. we ordered it to-go and when we got home realized no sauces, utensils, wipes, etc. were provided. bbq places earn their reputation with their sauces! i can blame it on the fact that it's a chain, but the sonny's bbq chain is living proof that bbq can be found in a franchise. daves gives bbq a bad name and anyone who views this as good bbq has never had the real thing. more

Good barbeque 1/16/2008

This is a good restaurant although often quite crowded, and they don't take reservations. The wait for a table can be extensive - but I guess that shows how much people like it! I'm not a huge barbeque fan but my favorite menu items are the pulled pork sandwich and the best pecan pie I've ever had. Tip: if you can get a table in the bar, you can eat in the bar, and the wait is much less. You can also purchase the sauces and rubs to use at home. I recommend this restaurant. i LOVE famous daves bar-b-que! i love it so much i am tempted to believe that they put some sort of addictive chemical in the food. i've lived in denver for 12 years, have been to bennet's, brothers bbq, and countless other bbq places only hoping to find someone who know's what they are doing. dave does! i've had my wedding reception catered, (flawlessly), and my cousin had her high school graduation catered by famous daves, (some issues, but the food was so amazing that no one cared). i cannot wait to plan my parent s 50th wedding anniversary only because i know the food will be perfect. Pros: delicious food Cons: long wait, service staff seems like it's everyone's first time waiting tables,... but we all have to start somewhere :) more

BEST PLACE YOU CAN EVER EAT AT IN THE ENTIRE OF U.S 12/18/2007

This place should be recommended on every show on the foodnetwork and on every food site there is... It actually rates number one in my classic food restaurant list, and trust me, I am an expert soulfood eater and I have more punching dreams than Ratatoulle.. I don't exxaggerate my review, but you have to go and try this place. I am just a very satisfying customer thats always returning for more... Serves the best barbeque food ever. Corn bread yummy, mashed potatoes, ribs, steak, not the typical food you eat at Outback. Great services... Pros: theres a Bar but seperated from the rest of seatings, wonderful fulfilling food... Cons: can be Overcrowded sometimes, but who can help it.. people wait forever even just for this food!!! more

The best BBQ 11/24/2006

We love this place. Its very family friendly and can accomodate large groups also. The food is great and you can choose what type of sauce you want on your food. The ambience is sort of a Minnesota Lodge look with great Blues music playing. Odd combo but it works. The service have never been bad in all the many times we have eaten here. Great portions for your money. Pros: Great food and service. Cons: Its not next door...but that may be a good thing also! more
