Editorial review from Citysearch 4/17/2013

Erawan is now in a new, improved location-very close to its former address on Roswell Rd. no longer sandwiched between a liquor store and adult novelty shop! \r \r We have lived in the area (Dunwoody/Sandy Springs) for 15 years and have been eating at this restaurant for about as long. We go there about once evry other month or a bit less.\r \r We love it and when we bring friends from our of town or Intown Atlantans, they always rave. The service, atmosphere(quiet and airy), and food are all excellent. We often have the same waitress who remembers us. I have never heard anyone complain about this place. \r \r We have many different favorites but I will say that years ago we went with our kids (now teens who love to eat here) and they ordered fried bananas with vanilla ice cream. It was decadent, and I can't afford the calories now, but I remember it as the best thing I had ever eaten! more

Good food, very poor service 4/20/2012

Food at Erawan Thai is good. I have been a handful of times and it is consistent. However, the service is very poor. The waitresses are in such a hurry to take your order and drop your meal off at your table, that they forget to bring your drink, they don't ask if you have everything you need, they forget if you ask for something, and they never come back to check on you. It's very frustrating. They drop the food off and run. I am at the point now that if I go, I bring some of my own condiments because I know I have to run over to the kitchen to track someone down to re-request what I am waiting for. Fast service does not equal good service in this case. more

Great Thai healthy Food 6/27/2011

Erawan Organic Thai offers great great organic food: organic chicken, beef or even brown rice. It's superb. The brown rice is excellent. I never have any good brown rice like Erawan does. Also, i like Erawan's appetizers. they are all wonderful: lard, kanom jeeb, cheese rolls and such. i love your food, Erawan Organic Thai. Good jobs!!! Well Done!!! more

Best Thai food in Sandy Springs, maybe all of Atlanta 7/7/2010

We have lived in the area of Erawan Thai for about 6 years. We have eaten here numerous times and the experience actually gets better each time we go. The lady who serves us is always friendly, recognizes us and usually knows what we want before we do. The food is FANTASTIC! I really can't rave enough about the food. The atmosphere is quiet and casual. The place has a loyal following but it is never crowded and uncomfortable. I honestly think it is the best kept secret in Sandy Springs. The fact that it is organic is just icing on the cake. If you get the Crispy Duck, you will not be disappointed! ;) The only bad thing about the place is the location. It's not ""scary"" or anything, just hard to notice and it's in a strip mall with a porn shop, liquor store and a ""massage"" parlor. We've never been bothered by anything there and the food would be worth it if it were in the middle of a crack house. Pros: FOOD! Service, cleanliness, just about everything but... Cons: location more

Owner and staff are RUDE and DISHONEST and MEAT IS BAD 8/5/2009

I wrote about a horrible experience I had at this restaurant on Google and the owner dishonestly posed as a patron to put me down. To stoop to this level of trickery shows they are really desperate and incredibly STUPID people. Here is a copy of that review for a good laugh:\r \r Subject: Refused to replace BAD MEAT - JZ \r \r EDIT: Owner is posing as a patron in his reviews\r \r Howie.d, it's interesting that you are commenting on things that you could know nothing about by reading my reivew. You mentioned that I am Indian and the person I was there with was Indian, neither of which I mentioned in my review. You also made a comment about me not owning up to my review when I came back to the restaurant, how would you have known what happened between me and the owner? Additionally, you said ""be a man"", how did you know I'm a man and not a woman, I made no reference to my gender in the review. Hmm, how could you assume all these things if you were not the owner or acting on their behalf?... You just threw this restaurants credibility out the door and turned yourself into a biggoted, unethical, dishonest and let's a not very smart business owner, by asking me things you would not have known as a REAL patron.\r \r Response to my review from a mystery person:\r \r RE: Bad Meat -- not? - Howie.d? - Feb 19, 2009\r \r To the person (JZ) that complained about Erawan Thai. I have eaten at this restaurant many times and found the meat to always be fresh and the dishes tasty. I suspect your nose may be unaccustomed to the fish sauce which is typically used in some of the dishes. If the owner asked if you posted a derogatory review, then admit it. Be a man. Reading your review, I suspect you are the type of person that is very demanding and imagines yourself to have sophisticated tastes, but doesnt know the difference between curry and cumin. I notice that you and one other indian are the only people to ever complain about this place. Just a coincidence? Cons: BAD MEAT AND RUDE OWNER AND STAFF more

Disappointing 9/21/2008

Since we eat mostly organic and have heard of another organic Thai resto opened in Roswell, we decided to give it a try last night. We ordered Larb Chicken salad to share, which was too salty and not enough heat even with three peppers. The cabbage that came with it had bitter after taste and so did the broccoli in my Drunken Noodle. My husband had Pad Thai that was brand. The service was friendly, but unattentive and difficult to understand the accent. And finally, on the way home, our throats were very dry as if we had MSG, however, menu said NO MSG. It was disappointing, but now we know! more

Fresh, delicious, organic, vegetarian-friendly, great service, great prices! 5/7/2008

This is the best Thai food in Atlanta! Finally found a place that serves organic vegetarian Thai food! There service is superb, as is the food. I always get basil rolls, organic green salad with peanut dressing, and vegetable/tofu Masaman Curry - YUMMY!\r (Location is not obvious - across the street from Blockbuster and Tijuana Joe's on Roswell Road just south of Northridge.) more
