Best

Oysters are the next best thing to lox, uni, and yellowtail. When I found out that Elliott's Oyster House has oysters for 50 cents during happy hour, I squealed. No. Literally....

Worst

7/2/08 for lunch & 7/7/08 for dinner. Years ago traveled to Seattle and really enjoyed this place. Love the food, location, views and atmosphere. Boy were we disappointed in the...

hard to find but worth the look 11/4/2002

Great all around restraunt..was vacationing in seattle and was asking around for a goor seafood restraunt...unanamous praises from locals.. bartenders/hostess could of been more comforting.. but server Duffy made up for others short-commings... excellent variety of oysters and very fresh selection.. foor prepared/served in a contemporary - art-deco fashion, i suggest ordering the appetizer tower, you'll be suprised!! great paring of local wines with entress, large wine selection otherwise...still a bit pricey but food and staff were worth it..great location...if you ask for directions.. more

Great Place to Relax 10/18/2002

The ambience, food and service was great. The wait staff was great. The seating people could probably use a little more smile power. Pros: Bar Tender, Wait Satff, ambiance Cons: parking more

Great Seafood 10/3/2002

Delicious, perfectly cooked seafood. The atmosphere is a bit too well lighted but otherwise pleasant. I would recommend this to friends without hesitation. Pros: variety of oysters, reasonably priced, great service Cons: parking more

Stick with Ivars 9/3/2002

Stick to Ivars, Elliot's Oyster House trys but fails as a first class seafood restaurant. Once you get away from the Oysters you are on your own. I had an over cooked piece of salmon served with a big pile of mashed potatoes and some tasteless green beans that cost me $25. I have had better food at a Mariners game. Even with reservations you will be lucky to get a good table on time. Pros: Oysters, Location Cons: other food, wine list, disorganized staff more

three times everytime 8/29/2002

I ate at Elliott's three times this summer, twice on the patio and once indoors. Each and every time I found the food to be absolutely the freshest and best prepared I have ever had. The salmon was cooked perfectly, the house salad with the apples in it was my favorite. The people were so friendly and attentive. I completely agree that Elliott's is the best!! Pros: valet parking, friendly more

Heaven on a half-shell 8/19/2002

There is no finer place in possibly the world to enjoy fresh oysters on the half-shell than at Elliott's Oyster House. The little beauties are never mangled, always ice cold, and served with the greatest mignonette I have ever tasted as an accompaniment. (red wine vinegar, champagne, shallots, and black pepper- FROZEN . . . beautiful!!) The selection is always wonderful, the only drawback is the lack of pacifics in the summer when they are spawning, perhaps we all could pitch in and have an iceburg delivered so we could have Olympias all year round . . . P.S. The entree's are amazing also Pros: Freshness, Variety, Service Cons: Noise more

Great food, slow service 8/19/2002

The W rec'd the Elliott and overall it did not disappoint. The bar area was easily accessible as we waited for a table, our server there was wonderful, the beer selection is outstanding and up until the time we sat down, everything was on track for a great meal. Once we were seated though, our server just forgot about us. We had several servers over the course of our meal -- the main one though never really giving us any attention or showing any sense of urgency to get our food to us, or tell us more about menu offerings. He took tons of time with other tables, and none with ours. Our food was very slow, but excellent. If you can wade through the what is probably "spotty" service, the food really is excellent. I think we just caught someone on a bad night. Pros: Great location, Wonderful views, Outstanding food Cons: Spotty service more

Excellent service, good food. 8/9/2002

The executive chef came out himself to introduce us to the restaurant. Food was good. Environment great. more

Delisious, fantastic food! 8/8/2002

Everything on the menu is devine! Their oysters are so good. I recommend trying a kind that is bred in a suspended tray. They have no grittiness to them and a mild taste. If you don't know, ask your waiter. I think they love explaining the differences in the types of oysters (at least ours did). Also, my favorite food in the whole entire world is their crab chowder. A must, even in warm weather, because it's so delicious. The view over the sound is nice, also, especially if you go at sunset. Make sure you make a reservation, though. They're sometimes very popular so you'll have to wait, but it never seems crowded or under staffed. Pros: delicious!, informative staff, cooked to perfection Cons: long wait for walk-in more

Oyster Lover 8/4/2002

My first mistake was i walked into Elliott's Oyster House on the Seattle waterfront, Pier 56, Thinking i was in for the traditional west coast fish grotto. How wrong i was we had a very memorable experienced. the staff was increadiable, Prompt and Knowledgeble. The Oyster selection was overwelming and i rather enjoyed watching my Oytsers beng shucked. Northwest Seafood prepared to perfection. I will always refer and celebrate Elliott's Pros: Valet Parking, Valet Parking, Awesome Experience Cons: Make Reservations more

For true seafood lovers only 8/3/2002

I had the best experience at Elliotts Oyster House. The food was fantastic and the service we recieved was some of the best i've experienced, the staff was very attentive and educated in Seafood. I will always return to Elliott's Pros: Valet service, awesome Oyster Bar more

Great service! 8/1/2002

The food was excellent, and the oysters were fantastic! I didn't know there could be such variety! Best of all was the service. We've been there twice, and have been treated like royalty each time! more

When in Seattle 7/22/2002

I visit Seattle for a few days, just about once a month. Each time I always look forward to dinning at Elliots. The staff is friendly and helpful and the Crab Cakes melt in youre mouth. It is my opinion that better Crab Cakes cannot be found anywhere else. more

Nice location, great seafood 5/20/2002

The oysters are a bit on the pricey side, given what you can get them for at the market next door. But this is a great place to let them do the shucking for you. If you don't know much about oysters, just ask your server--they can tell you a good deal about the different varieties served here. Pros: fresh oysters, knowledgeable staff Cons: expensive more

Editorial
  • In Short
All teak, copper and rough-hewn timber, Elliot's is most inviting when the weather cooperates. The long south-facing deck provides sun for lunches and early dinners, and sea-fresh dining for the nighttime crowd. A 21-foot oyster-shellfish bar sits opposite the entrance, where expert oyster shuckers and crab crackers skillfully prep crustaceans. Oysters and Dungeness crab are highlights, but in true fish-house tradition, the menu runs long with various preparations of local and Alaskan seafood.
