Dr Hashim Chothia (Dental FX)

This was by far the most horrific experience I have ever had at the dentist. I was referred to Dr. Chothia for an extraction. I wish I would have been referred somewhere else. Once back in the room I was hasseled about the way my X-ray looked. I was then leaned back and had a numbing medication placed in my mouth. Well there was no suction to help it from going down my throat so I swallowed some of it. Once it was time for the extraction I wasn't even lated down, nope she jerked my head around, thought she was gonna break my neck. Worse of all was getting home and throwing up from the numbing meds and the blood I swallowed. Never go here. more

Friendly staff, good at handling insurance, and pleasant doc who is knowledgeable and proactive. more

When I called they were condescending and unwilling to work with the referring dentist. If they would of communicated with the other office he would of realized he was not qualified to do the procedure he said he was able. My child, my child's regular dentist's office and I were down graded on the phone, some may say they were just being loud in tone, but they were flat out yelling at each of us. They hung up on the other doctor's office. Didn't feel like waiting to have wisdom teeth removed, so we bite the bullet and went to his office, which was a house, found out he was unqualified, by his lack of action and cooperation, and we both lost two days of work. Made an unpleasant event disgusting. Don't typically write bad reviews but this man has this coming. more

I am currently planning on going to medical school and therefore opted to have my wisdom teeth extracted while awake. I found that if you are used to needles and surgery this should be no problem for you. However, do NOT get any type of surgery awake if you are squeamish or unsure. I did find myself dizzy and stomach sick at first, but the dental assistant came in and held my hand and took deep breaths while instructing me to stay calm. Maybe I have great control over my body's impulses, or they have very strategic and great staff, but when Dr. Chothia came in for the surgery, he appeared smooth and knowledgeable, which put me at ease. Plus I got to hear a lot of fun medical jargon and silly comments made against my wild molars. I come in on a regular basis for cleaning and maintenance, and find their scheduling accommodating. more

I visited Chothia's office for a checkup, and to have several fillings done. Before I made my appointment to have the fillings, I received by predetermination of dental benefits. I was surprised to learn the office was planning to charge me more than $600 for white fillings, versus metal fillings. They never asked my preference. When I went for my appointment, I asked again for metal fillings and asked for their price. They again gave me a very high bill, with little explanation, so I left the appointment. After calling my dental insurance I found out their office again quoted me for white fillings, which I did not want to pay for. I believe that you empower your customers with correct information and options. This office did not do that. Please be wary when using their services. more

Dr. Chothia was my regular dentist until I changed insurance. He was the best dentist out there. I have lost my insurance but I am willing to pay full price to go back and see him. He took my wisdom teeth out and he made it seem like a piece of cake. I had complicated crowed wisdom teeth too. I highly recommend him and the prices are good too! more

I'm on dshs medical insurance and was referred to chothia. I get very nervous at the dentist and always have, and when i got all the shots in my mouth to numb up the areas where my wisdom teeth were, i started to cry and didn't feel very well. when the dental asst. came in the room she gave me some tissue, and told me i would be fine and the worst was over!! i was told to rub my jaws where i was so tense, and chothia came back into the room and told me that he has done this for 25 years and could pull teeth with his eyes closed, so if i were to feel pain, "it would be your fault" ( as in my fault!) i just let that go, but when he was checking to see if my teeth were numb enough, he poked so hard into my bottom right side wisdom tooth because it wasn't numb yet, i started telling him owe owe owe that really hurts!! he took a step back and told me "if you tell me owe owe owe i WILL not believe you and i will think you are lying, only TELL me one time that it hurts" he said very rudely..... he had also said tome that this could either take 2 hours or this could take all night and he really didnt want to waste his time!!!! I have never been treated like this in my whole entire life and i have spent alot of time in hospitals and dental offices! it was obvious that i was nervous and didn't want to be there, but i needed my teeth to be pulled badly. i would not refer him to any body i kno or even dislike! i left there in tears yesterday and i still cant understand why i was treated this way more

I moved to Seattle two years ago and Dr Chothia was recommended to me by colleagues. I have had a number of treatments with him, incluidng root canal, and I was very impressed with the quality of the treatment there. Dr Chothia takes his time, explains things clearly, and has an excellent support staff. I recommend him very highly. more
