I really need to start using Citysearch more because this restaurant received a good rating on another web site which I will leave nameless as not to disparage people from using them. First, it took me over an hour to find the place because the address did not say west so I couldn?t find it. I Dave?s and asked them for directions and they had no clue where I was even though I was on FM 1960, but that didn?t stop me from trying some of the best BBQ in Houston or so I thought. When I got to the restaurant the decorum was absolutely atrocious, I couldn?t believe my eyes, the place should be called run down shack instead of Dave?s Shack. If you put aside the poor lighting and the hand written menus on the wall you would be hard pressed to put aside the filthy restrooms. I am a food connoisseur who loves to enjoy a good meal and when I go to a new restaurant I tend to order a buffet of items to get a feel of the restaurant. I ordered the pork ribs, baby back ribs and half a chicken. I also asked for a sample of potato salad because I know how hard it is to get good potato salad. The potato salad was horrific; it was so bad I couldn?t finish the sample. I noticed they were getting a delivery of wood for their smokers and to tell you the truth the ribs and chicken tasted like the wood. It had a smoky after taste that made my stomach upset. It was so bad I couldn?t finish all that food I brought?it went into the garbage which is something I hate to do. Overall I do not recommend Dave?s Rib Shack and I regret spending my vacation hours going.
