Consign Design

Consigners beware. This may be a great store for the buyer, but as a seller you are made to feel as if you stole the items you want to consign. We had several quality pieces damaged because of their ""merchandising"" (stacking things on each other) This resulted in unsellable furniture or significantly reduced prices because of the DAMAGE THAT THEY CAUSED after we brought it there. Older ""has-been"" design staff stand in judgement as you present each piece for approval. One prissy queen even said that ""we might consider other options."" We didn't bring junk, it was good quality newer furniture. We left the store feeling as if we should have donated it to the Salvation Army instead... at least they say ""thank you"". Additionally, it took four phone calls to get them to send checks after the items were finally sold. Bad feelings all around. more

Although I went to check out the stuff available at Consign Design as me and my wife are planning to purchase leather sofa. This store has all - contemporary, modern and traditional style furniture and accessories at low cost. The staff is knowledgeable, professional in design, warm and friendly. I am impressed and will be back soon. more

I just moved to Seattle from Michigan, along with my brother, his girlfriend, and two of their friends from NYC. None of us came with any furniture. Consign Design was recommended to us by an acquaintance, so we checked it out and LOVE it! John and Sarah were so kind, helpful, and offered SUCH FAIR PRICES! I bought my couch and a beautiful coffee table there for an amazing deal. What a find! The place is huge and there are treasures hidden EVERYWHERE! Great selection of unique furniture and the staff is eager to agree on a reasonable price. John helped us load everything into our car and was funny and kind the whole way. This a fabulous local business to support--I know we will be going back many, many more times to continue furnishing all of our new homes! more

This is a unique place with both new and old good condition furnishings and art work. They are excellent at selling as well as great place to buy the type of furniture you may want and the selection is constantly changing. My friend just got a tiffany style lamp for a steal there. It is fun simply to just see their latest selections. I love this place! I have sold a lot of my moms unneeded but nice furnishings. Its a good place to take things and get some money back. Also if you just want to change out of your current furnishings without going broke trying. If you like variety and non boring - go here! I found Consign Design about 7 years ago. I hadn't been in in quite a few years, so decided to check it out one day while driving by. I forgot what cool things they have....and what a great selection! I was in a few weeks ago, and came back today to see if they still had a chair I was eyeing. They sold it, but I bought another one at a fabulous price. I couldn't believe the selection of new things they had. Note to self: Buy it if you like it, or it will be gone!! Great customer service! These guys offer a good service.\r \r Selling furniture through them is easier and more profitable than using craigslist. They take care of the pieces and showcase them well.\r \r My wife and I have bought several items here and we always feel it was a good deal. I listed quite a few pieces of furniture on Craigslist. After a flood of emails, many no-shows on meetings, and ridiculous low ball offers, I made not one sale. All together, if I had sold everything on Craigslist, I would have made a grand total of $175. I priced things really low. Still, not one sale. I had browsed at Consign Design before but was leary of their percentage take. I thought if I sold through a consignment shop, after their take, it would leave me with about $50 from all this great furniture. How wrong I was! I just picked up a check for $220, and that is after my first check of $75. Even after their percentage take, I still made way more than I would have off of Craigslist, and I didn't have to do a thing! If and when I decide to change my decor again, everything is going to Consign Design. I love this place! I am sorry to hear about the one CitySearcher's bad experience of the shop not accepting his piece of furniture, but personally, I appreciate the shop accepting only furniture that is in good shape. It means they have a happy clientele that will return time and time again. That means those of us that do have good quality things to sell have plenty of shoppers coming through Consign Design because they know they will only find good quality goods. sarah and lance rock the house! they are true professionals and could not have been better for our carloads of furniture, furnishings etc. Sitting in the loading bay for several minutes, I was astounded by the complete customer service of everyone entering and exiting this place - even the ones ""just looking"". The placement of the furniture is perfect. Excellent prices and the knowledgeable design staff is key (Sarah:), and a fabulous upholsterer on site(Bob). Consignment does not get better than this! Garage sales may be fun but this wonderful place is stuffed with treasures for the seeker of unique and beautiful items for your home! Very reasonable prices and a great place to consign those things you are tired of or want to replace with something different and exciting. Love the staff too! Visit often as things fly out of there!
