Since it's a used clothes (mostly) store the inventory can be good or bad, but I've had terrific luck here. I've gotten clothes from J. Crew, Banana Republic, Bebe, Lucky Jeans and more for a fraction of the normal cost and in relatively great condition. They also have a fun shoe selection, funky accessories and bags, and are a great spot when looking for a one-of-a-kind dress for under $30.
Pros: Great value
Cons: It's not assured that they have what you want in your size

I am from Yakima, Wa and I was visiting the U District Twice Sold Tales for the first time. I was very impressed! They had a HUGE section of Sci-Fi! The prices were significantly higher than in Yakima for used books, but, they also seemed to be in much better condition, and also had an incredibly more vast selection too. So, it kind of balances out. The only deal is, they have cats. I'm highly allergic to cats. However, despite that, the one big furry golden/orange cat didn't set off my allergies. Don't know what's up with that. So, if you want to have a great selection of books, check this place out. Just take your allergy pills (like I always have to) before you go!

I can't say enough about this pub, it's like the west village meets the northwest...LOVE IT. AMAZING Sitka Spruce carved tables all salvaged from recycled old growth, NOT CUT FRESH. Meticulous when it comes to details,... and the lighting. .... let's just say EVERYONE LOOKS GOOD. Brand new construction, amazing staff, funky cool neighborhood, oh.. to boot, there's a coffee shop/bookstore in the same building, it's like a whole afternoon in one building. Forgive the structure of my sentences and placement of commas, just go and you'll have a new favorite pub. ... period.
Pros: amazing details, great staff, cheap food..but good
Cons: none

I can't say enough good things about this bookstore--I just get a good feeling whenever I walk in here. It's cozy with books stacked everywhere: on steps, counters, the floor. There are little nooks and crannies to explore. It's what a bookstore should be. There's no way that the selection can be as extensive as the corporate mega-stores, but what they have is just fine for people who love browsing for books. I wish there were more of these independent bookstores left.
I save about $50 on a $100 order every time I go there.
PROS: huge, better than any chain store, cozy

Vastly improved since my last visit a few years ago. Seattle's best kept secrert is back. The customer service was great; knowledgeable staff and not nearly as pretentious as at competing stores. The store looks different but it's full of treasures. Even though the prices were the best I've seen in the country I found so much that I had to leave a few gems behind. The staff did make it easier on my wallet with their willingness to wheel & deal. Highly recommended, a record hunt in Seattle is not complete with out a visit to this U district institution. Don't forget to bring in your old items for a great trade in deal.
Pros: helpful staff, great prices, fair trade ins

I visited this store while on a trip to Seattle in hopes of finding some vintage items. I found many to admire, try on, and buy. They had many beautiful, unique vintage articles that were in very good condition - sometimes a difficult thing to find. The prices seemed reasonable, especially as I was there during their "dot sale" - tags have different colored dots that denote different discounts. The store was small and full, but they regularly took items from me as I selected them, so I didn't have trouble moving around. They placed my items in a dressing room when I was ready to try them on. I did not buy any contemporary designer labels and can not speak to the selection or pricing on this type of item. I did look at an exquisted skirt by a local, contemporary designer, but this satiny number had a few spots on front and back and I wasn't willing to risk them not coming out for the ~$40 price.
Pros: vintage clothing

It's true, Isadora's is incredibly expensive but also incredibly fancy. The jewelry and clothing they stock are flawless and perfect examples of their style. Moreover, what I really wanted to comment on is how outrageously nice they are. I have been visiting this store since I was 16 years old and they have been unwaveringly nice to me. I went into plenty of antique stores where my teenage striped tights and combat boots were a problem but these ladies always treated me with such kindness that I know when I land my first fancy job I'll be popping by for a present for myself.
Pros: People, Clothing/Jewelry
