Commencement Bay Marine brought some of the staff from Olympic Boat Centers and WOW these folks are GREAT! The staff was friendly and the service was performed without a glitch!

I took my boat there and told them to give it a checkup to make sure I wasn't going to have any leaks this season. They charged me about $1000 (<$50 for parts) when they found so...

They've been servicing my boat for a few years now. Started with a repair I needed after the warranty was over. They did the work and made a recommendation to keep the new warranty valid and they were right. They saved me money on the next repair and since then I've gone to no one else. more

Took my boat in to CBMS after issues with another shop, somehow they managed to fix every mistake and make it run like new! Appreciate the honest and quick service, will definitely recommend! more

Ive had my boat services at CBMS since late 2009. My first experience was with my port outdrive needing repairs due to a manufacturer defect after the warranty; this required a new u-joint, bearing, and a bellow. Due to the defect, they recommended replacing the bellow annually to active a 1-yr warranty. Thankfully I followed their recommendation, as every year the Port needed the same repair due to water intrusion. Yes, the manufacturer took care of most the bill! However, after 2 yrs of repeated water damage and proof there was a flaw, I asked CBMS to support my push back on the manufacturer, which allowed me to work out a plan to replace the old drives for new versions. CBMS did a great job working with me and the manufacturer to make the impossible happen! As of Oct. '12, the port engine hydro-locked in my slip on a Sun. evening. I called CBMS Monday morning and they were working on my boat by noon, pulling the plugs and oiling all cylinders to save the engine from the saltwater damage. They pulled he risers and manifolds, where he found they had outlived their life. Parts on order that day and work was finished upon the parts arrival...all at my slip!If you have taken the time to read my short story, then I highly recommend CBMS to service your boat regardless if it's small or large!Vonnie is a high-caliber cust. svc rep and a good friend through my boating endeavors.Jeff has a keen ability to figure out and correct my boats mechanical issues. Jeff has become a trusted friend and the only mechanic allowed to work on my engine and drives! The rest of the CBMS team has always been friendly and supportive, always willing to reach out with a helping hand! more

Great people! 2/21/2013

Don't learn the hard way by trying some place else- we took our boat in to Commencement Bay and they fixed everything right the first time. After initially taking our boat to another service facility, we got it back with NO reverse and they installed a wooden plug that was unsafe. Luckily Commencement Bay helped us out, thank you guys so much!! more

We have used Commencement Bay Marine Services (the same people that formally worked at Olympic Boats) for some years now. We have always found Vonnie and the team to be exceptionally helpful and friendly. The repairs have been reasonable and thorough, and we felt we were in good hands. more

Feel Good about taking your boat in! 5/14/2012

Let's face it. Taking your boat in for service is not a comfortable feeling. I will say that the people at Commencement Bay Marine did a great job taking care of me. They were clear with the costs and kept me updated all the way along with anything they found...Giving me the option to either accept or pass over. I feel that this company truly gets it. They came recommended to me and I will do the same. Thanks Vonnie and crew! more

response to ""Ripped Me Off"" 7/28/2010

This was an unfortunate occurrence where the engine leaks were corrected as requested while the hull leak (which could only be found while in the water) could not be discovered on a trailered boat. The majority of cost could have been avoided by not leaving the boat in the water for a week with out an operating bilge pump. The vessel left CBMSI with a non operating bilge pump. Under no circumstances would we ever want a customer unhappy and it is unfortunate that this customer is upset. Our goal is to provide honest, quality work for our customers.? Pros: honest quality work more

Ripped me off 7/23/2010

I took my boat there and told them to give it a checkup to make sure I wasn't going to have any leaks this season. They charged me about $1000 (<$50 for parts) when they found something that was potentially a leak. When I put the boat in the water, it leaked like crazy (it hadn't leaked at all before their ""repair""). I took it back and they told me they wouldn't have found this one because they'd have had to put it in the water. Well, I figured for $1000, they'd have done what they had to do to make sure it didn't leak. Now I'm into another $1000 ($191 in parts, the rest to them for labor) to fix it. A good company would have admitted to not finding any problems the first time and at least discounted the labor of redoing the things they had to do over. But here all you get is ripped off. Pros: They make you think you can trust them Cons: You can't. more

Commencement Bay Marine Services 1/7/2009

I had the exact opposite experience. Vonnie (formerly with Olympic Boat Centers) was very kind and helpful! I called to get my boat winterized and she went thru several different packages and advised me of the best package to fit my needs. The service was done in a timely manner and everyone was FANTASTIC! I have found my new service center! Pros: Friendley and fast Cons: none! more

Poor customer service, deceptive price quote 11/17/2008

Previously serviced our boat at Olympic Boat in Fife, but since they filed for bankruptcy we tried this place. Vonnie, formerly of Olympic Boat, is now at Commencement Bay so we felt pretty good about this pick. Vonnie forgot to quote 'plus supplies' when quoting winterization. At time of pick up staff was unpleasant and unhelpful, no greeting of any kind when walking in the door and acted like we were an annoyance rather than customers. Boat was not pulled out front even though they knew we were coming in to pick it up, keys weren't in boat requiring a second trip into the office where again we were again treated to staffs' poor attitudes and poor customer service. Cons: Poor customer service, deceptive price quotes more
