Good and cheap 8/26/2011

I have been to a couple different locations of Cindi's and never had any problems with service, food size/quantity or quality. I can't speak as to whether it is anywhere compared to an actual NY deli--probably not--but not a lot of delis in Texas anyway and this beats eating McDonalds, it's casual, comfortable, friendly, consistent, and fairly cheap. One of the best tuna salad sandwiches that I have ever had, great chicken and even the burger was good. Fries were average but next time I want to try one of those deserts! Breakfast/brunch was great too but can get packed on the weekends if you don't get there early. more

Should Take New York out there name ! 5/10/2010

One of my best memories is going to a New Yorl Deli. The sandwiches are huge ,fresh and super good . After finding this place . I saw the pictures and figure ,this is it . New York Style deli in Dallas. ALL RIGHT !! ALL WRONG. I went there yesterday for mother day . My wife wanted to visit there . I want to make clear ,I am not talking about service or the people there . The food only! I got the club sandwich double stack ,with fries . NO CHIPS ? This sandwich was so small. My wife started laughing. I mean ,it looked like something you serve a kindergardener. No pickle wedge ,two slices of pickle. I had to had the cheese ,yes that was extra . I tell you know lie ,it look like four pieces of something served at a dinner party before the meal . My wife got the reuben . It was small also so ,but she liked it . I didnt make a big fuss cause it was mother's day . They have some serious portion controls going in in there . If they hadnt used NY in there name ,you can kinda forgive them. But,when you been there and had what they serve you there ,it should be the same thing, not a Texas cocktail version of a NY deli sandwich . For two sandwiches, two sodas and a tip,35.00 dollars is a lot to pay ,more than you pay in New York and still have to go get food several hours later . I will not be tricked again ! My understand what has given it a rep is the breakfast food . The people who live close by and have it as a meeting place. All that is fine . But dont sell me that I am going to have a New York Style sandwich and could have gotten something much better it IHOP and a lot less . New Yorkers visiting ,beware are you will get your feeling hurt ! Pros: Great advertising for New York Style Deli Cons: The sandwich arent like New York Deli Sandwiches.. more

Worst Strawberry Shortcake Ever 1/9/2009

I ordered a strawberry shortcake from the central location Cindi's NY Deli and Bakery for my sister's birthday. When we sat down to try it, we were all disappointed. The cake was crumbly and tasted old like it had been sitting in the cooler for a very long time (frost-bite taste). The almonds on the sides were stale and chewy. And the fruit topping was not fresh. I was really disappointed because I've heard such good things about this place. I contacted the owner, but still have not received a response. Unfortunately, I can't say I'll ever go back. Cons: Strawberry shortcake, no response when contacting management more

Great Deli 7/23/2008

The food here are so good and portion are so big i always have to get a togo box. The pasteries are fresh and each bite are incredible. My favorite dish at Cindis is the number 4 on the deli menu which include cornbeef, juicy pastrami top with swiss cheese and coleslaw. It is an amazing plate that anyone can enjoy. I would recommend this restaurant if you want a good lunch or dinner. more

the best food in dallas 5/18/2008

This is the best restaurant in town, they have such a large varity of food. The bakery has fresh baked pasteries, makes your mouth water. My favorite is the patty melt & reuben. They also have daily lunch specials that are fit for a king, with large portions, believe me I walk out full. Everyone needs to try it!!! Pros: The waitress's make you feel right at home Cons: parking is limited more

Average at best 4/28/2008

Went to Central location on a Saturday morning, was busy but not extreme. Being an authentic Jewish deli, I expected the bagels to be above other standards. For a plain toasted Everything bagel with a schmear of plain cream cheese, it was eh. The Everything Bagel had very little flavor which shocked me, and the toasting was a joke. For cream cheese, was handed one of those tiny processed disposable containers, which isnt enough for one side of a bagel. Breakfast plate with eggs, corned beef and tomatoes was okay. Pros: Bakery items LOOK good in glass case Cons: Bagels doughy not much flavor, long wait for mediocre food more

Classic Diner Feel 9/19/2007

I had the pleasure of having breakfast/lunch here with a few coworkers, and man was it good. I wish I lived closer to this neat little joint. I got the veggie sandwich. It was soo good. I did not get any desserts, but man did they look tempting. Pros: great diner feel, good food more

Good bagels. Cheap drinks. OK service. Strange combination. 11/13/2006

So, this is where my family loves to have breakfast. It is kind of like IHOP, but not a chain. Still has a cheap feel to it. But the food is good and they allow lots of substitutions which is nice. Pros: Cheap and good. Cons: Ambience is IHOP like. more

Amazing Deli 2/7/2005

Coming from a person who has eaten at New York's best deli's, this lil' ole place right here in Dallas is as good or better than anything in Manhattan. Portions are monstrous (It must be true that everything is BIG in Texas) and prices are unbelievably low. Breakfasts are done especially well here. Pancakes are fluffy, thick and as big as a catcher's mitt. Omelettes come with home styled hashbrown. Come for dinner and sample the best catfish in the city off the dinner menu. The owner is genuinely concerned about your happiness and you will always be greeted with a warm smile here. Come visit today! Pros: Huge Portions, Low Prices, Warm Service more

They've been open in the same location for more than ten years, and they have a lot of community spirit.

Cindi's New York Deli and Bakery, now with five locations, is rapidly becoming one of the favorite stopping places in Dallas. The menu is unique with extraordinary selections, offering everything from pancakes, pigs in a blanket, potato pancakes, knishes, cheese blintzes, and waffles, to omelettes. Delicious sandwiches including patty melts, Philadelphia cheese steak,New York reubens, pastrami, corned beef, hearty soups,Matzo ball soups, stews, hamburgers, steaks, spaghetti, fish platters, stuffed cabbage, and many more. Plus, fresh baked bagels, rye bread, Challah breads, pastries, and delectable custom cakes. Breakfast served all day. Home cooking lunches and dinners special available on weekdays. Cindi's is very much like the coffee or pancake house that was popular in the 50's and 60's. Cozy and comfortable, it's got the relaxed feel of both a southern diner and a New York deli.
