Best

Excellent food, decent delivery time. Will order again!

Worst

The food at Chutney's has been a great disappointment on the last three occasions I ate there. I love Indian food and live right around the corner so I keep going, each time hopi...

Ordered takeout. The food was okay. The good: Chicken jalfrezi said "white meat only" and actually was all white meat. The curry was only a little bit oily rather than drowning in it. Sauces tasted pretty good. Naan was huge and fluffy. The bad: Chicken vindaloo said "white meat only", but it wasn't. Dishes weren't spicy at all. (I'm sure I have no idea what authentic Indian food is actually like, but I thought vindaloo was normally very spicy?) The ugly: My rice was hard. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume this was a fluke. Overall: I will probably order again, but I'm still hoping to find a better Indian place in the area. more

Good Tikka Masala, but heavy sauce. The naan bread wasn't very good. more

I love Chutneys, but this is the first time I got delivery from them. The owner himself delivered my food within 30 minutes and it was as wonderful as if I was at the restaurant eating it. I'm partial to the eggplant bharta, while my husband prefers the lamb tikka marsala. You can request organic in the restaurant, but I didn't see an option for it with the delivery. I bet you can put it in the comments and they would accommodate you. more

Simply AMAZING! 10/2/2010

ok folks, this Indian restaurant by far has captured my tase buds forever now! I have tried several Indian places in the NW, eventhough Seattle area has more than 150 indian restaurants Chutney's definetly stands out to me and my family/friends in every way imaginable...I saw some of the reviews that other "customers" wrote below me....seriously folks you need to quit being super picky and appreciate the culture and environment that this place has and shares with you, you won't find another place like this in all of Seattle area, Mark my words!!! Ask yourselves what other Indian restaurant has an ORGANIC menu??? This is the only Indian place in all of Seattle that is actually using certified produce for thier menu, I was estatic when I discovered this fact :) I couldn't be any happier! All the staff, food, environment, parking, and the best part is they're open all year round with an beautiful buffet variety. Don't believe me? I dare you to go and try it yourselves... more

Great Indian Food!! 10/1/2010

Have tried many Indian restaurants and I have to say the Chuteny's Bistro in Wallingford is my favorite! The food is well prepared and they even have an menu with organic dishes and organic wines! We ordered Chicken Tikka masala and Saag paneer. Loved both and would recommend it to friends. Check it out for yourself. You will not be dissapointed! Free parking too. The phone number above is not correct on the city search site...it is 634-1000. more

Poor quality food, fine service 7/30/2009

The food at Chutney's has been a great disappointment on the last three occasions I ate there. I love Indian food and live right around the corner so I keep going, each time hoping that the last time was just a bad night. In my experience, every night is a bad night at Chutney's. We had the chicken appetizer, which was almost too dry to swallow and had a mild cardboard-like flavor. Chicken Biryani was rice colored with a coarse sauce flavored with pepper and little else. It was embedded with the same dry, orange-tinted chicken breast served as the appetizer. We ate only a few bites of the dish and discarded the remainder. The mint lamb kebabs were tough, dry strips and were the best meat dish of the evening. "Saag" Kofta was pleasant and the rice served with it was cooked perfectly. We had an order of plain Naan which was excellent. The last two times I ate at here were similar: one or two adequate dishes surrounded by an almost inedible mass of other dishes. If you are forced to eat here, you may do better sticking to vegetarian meals and you can't go wrong if you just stick to Naan. The service was quick, friendly and professional. Pros: The naan was good Cons: Most of the rest of our meal was dry and/or flavorless more

Great lunch buffet - amazing outdoor seating 7/14/2009

Great patio, excellent place to relax, and the food is delicious (although can't vouch for authenticity), it's not cheap, but well worth it Pros: Excellent food, great patio Cons: not cheap more

Ehhh 5/19/2009

OK, when i go out for Indian I am really looking for authentic Indian food. I understand that anything we get here in America isn't totally traditional, but some places do it much better than Chutneys. I mean, they honestly served caesar salad as part of the lunch buffet! If I wanted salad I could have walked across the street to the QFC and bought something for much cheaper. The food overall isn't bad, its just not that good considering how many good Indian restaurants we have in this town. Well, I guess they can't all be good. Pros: Affordable Lunch Buffet, Easy to Park Cons: To Americanized more

Bland food, poor service, small portions 3/28/2009

It appears that the people who have given this restaurant good reviews are not familiar with good Indian food. This is the worst I have ever eaten. The food arrived cold and very quickly so it seems it was frozen and heated in a microwave. The portions are very small (for food and drinks). The quality of the food is inferior. The stand-offish owner only talks to diners he thinks will spend big. The wait staff hover around which is uncomfortable. It was like a Gordon Ramsey Kitchen Nightmare episode. I am intrigued to know what other diners liked but I won't be returning to find out. Pros: Parking convenience Cons: Poor quality dining experience more
