The hacking lady is so rude, not to mention she probably couldn't make it working at a waffle house. The burgers used to be so good, not anymore! It's a great location but its in need of a overhaul. more

Went there this weekend for the USA soccer match. When we were closing out, my friend got her tab and someone (presumably the waitress) had written ""BITCH"" underneath her name. Now, my friend is one of the nicest, kindest people I know, so one wonders what kind of bad day the person that wrote this was having. The owner came over, apologised and said he'd review the security tape to see who wrote it. I'm not going to hold my breath there. Low-key Bar with Hangover-Curing Burgers 6/9/2010

Finding a low-key bar on Washington can sometimes prove difficult - but Cahill's is always low-key, all of the time. So low-key, it is the only bar I've ever been to without makeup on (hey, it was Post-Ike, they had A/C, and I didn't!). It's a sports bar/dive bar/restaurant all housed in an old Victorian mansion. They have a full bar, but it's really a beer-drinking kind of place. They have a few on tap, including a couple of the local brewery, St. Arnold's, and my fave - Corona Light - is always ice cold. I have been to Cahills on several occasions and have not had any problems at all. I think that someone who doesnt believe in tipping appropriately should definitely be called out for it, and should be embarassed to be out in public. Going out is a luxury, not a necessity, and if you cant behave yourself and dont want to tip, go to the corner store, grab a six pack, order a pizza, and sit at home by yourself. Best Bartenders ever! 8/14/2009

I have been going to Cahills for about 8 years now and I have never written a review. The bartenders by far are some of the best in Houston and I for one was Happy to see Johnny, Nadia and Mike all there last night. They Keep our drinks full while providing great company. Any one who tips $7 on a $55.00 tab is just plain cheap. $8.25 is only 15% and they are worth alot more. The service that Marty's bartenders give is some of the best in Houston. Thats why I will always go back, and the burgers aren't bad either. Pros: Bartenders, food Cons: Stupid acting customers more

Great Day Bartender... 3/10/2009

The young lady that works in the day time is a great bartender... I believe she's pregnant too, but that young lady will hustle! She had 7 tables all at once come in and she stayed on top of it! She had a smile the whole time and a great personalitiy! We had chkin fried chiken with mash potatoes and a salad for under $8 bucks... what a deal... Cahill's has improved so much over the past ten years I been going there. I do reccommend going in for a quick, affordable, freindly lunch.... more

Best place to watch a high speed car chase on TV. 11/8/2008

Cahills is everything a neighborhood bar should be. The food is excellent. The drinks are reasonably priced. There is a really nice covered porch with comfortable chairs for the smokers. The porch was popular even before the mayor tried to turn Houston into Salt Lake City. There is usually good music on the juke box during the busy times. more

Great jalapeno burger. The best in town! 10/31/2008

Me and my girlfriend are up at Cahills every thursday night. The jalapeno burger is the best in town and the homemade chips are great! The bartenders always keep our drinks full and provide great service. If you are able to get a steak on thursday you should try them. Also Cahills is dog friendly and you will always see people with there dogs on the back patio. The only con is that they need tvs on the patio. Pros: service and food Cons: tvs on patio more

so i kept hearing all of these wonderful things about this neighborhood bar and restaurant. so, finally i go to check it out on a saturday with a couple girlfriends during the day. the bartender (older/dumpy/female/brown hair) is hacking all over the place and even IN our drinks!!!...totally discusting...along with her lack of customer service in general. so, then i get coaxed into stopping in at this place with a larger group of friends another time one evening during the week, and this same barteneder chick is not working, but hanging out up there, hammering drink after drink, stumbling all over the place, and finally falling down. nice and classy! my friends swear this place is better than that which i've experienced, but i don't think i will ever be back. Great Bar, Great Service, Great People 5/21/2008

If you are looking for a laid-back local pub, Cahill's is the place for you. It has some of the best service in Houston. Your drink is always filled/fresh. The staff are friendly and fun. The food is great. I recommend the mini-corn dogs; you can't go wrong. There is plenty of parking, even when it's packed. They have plenty of screens to watch the Rockets, Stros, College Fball, etc. And, if you request to watch a specific game, they will almost always accommodate the request. Friendly low key usually not crowded 11/21/2006

Few beers on tap, large circular bar dominates and allows the friendly bar staff to keep an eye on everyone. Pool table, customer tables, Golden Tee. Food OK, parking adequate because this place is rarely crowded. Friendly, stop by, it could easily be my local if I lived nearby. more

The Ranch Burger is a must! 5/20/2004

While you can't go wrong w/any of the items off the menu, one that you have to try is the Ranch Burger w/chips. Definitely not one for the faint of heart (or arteries) this burger is only made better by the seasoned chips they serve on the side. My wife and I happened upon Cahills last week. The environment was nice and relaxed and the waitstaff was friendly. The menu, while limited, is affordable and quite good. When the weather is nice, thy and catch a table outside. more
