Worst

the margaritas at the cactus club are absolutely terrible. the food is ok, but i cannot understand how their margaritas are considered drinkable, let alone the best in boston.

The enchiladas were very good although I was surprised that the habanero sauce was sweet and cinnamony rather than spicy. The chips and salsa were awesome as always, as were the refried beans and the black beans. I just wish that you could order the quesadillas on GrubHub. more

Good Margaritas! 4/28/2010

Cactus Club is one of my favorite places to go for happy hour or drinks on a weekend night. The bartenders are very nice and the drinks are great. During happy hour, the appetizers are priced really well.\r \r I've tried to eat there twice for lunch with friends, and we waited 10 minutes for someone to greet us. After waiting, we decided to leave and I haven't tried again.\r \r Pros: Great margaritas, good happy hour Cons: poor dining room service more

Good times, good food 4/19/2010

I am a big fan of Mexican food and have had my fair share of burritos over the years, so you could say I have a pretty discerning palate when it comes to this type of food... and Cactus Club does not disappoint. The first several times my friends and I just went for drinks--Coronas/margaritas--and then when we had other college friends in town, we decided to splurge on a full dinner. The food was delicious, so we came back several times. We even spent one New Year's at Cactus Club! (Instead of champagne at midnight, they have margaritas :) It was super fun. Cactus Club is really a versatile place--great for after-work socializing, great for a fun weekend dinner, and also great for a special occasion! I highly recommend it. Margaritas! 4/3/2010

I love the Cactus Club. I've had my fair share of happy hour get togethers here, and keep coming back. First off, just go order the Horni Margarita. It's my drink of choice at Cactus. If you sit in the bar area, grab some half price appetizers Monday-Thursday from 4-7pm. I love the empanadas personally. The one time I sat in the dining room, the service was awful. Our waitress abandoned us multiple times (while waiting to order, while waiting for the bill, and while waiting for her to come pick up the bill so we could leave), and each time came back and said that she just forgot about us. One time she let us know she had gone out back for a cigarette. Great. After that, I haven't sat in the dining room again. Instead I opt for the bar area. Grab a high top, a margarita, and enjoy the fast service and good food and drinks! Best Mexican food I've ever had! 3/25/2010

chicken and roasted corn quesadilla were excellent. chips and salsa were suprisingly wonderful. the chips and salsa paired well with my Heinekin beer. Margharita was good but not top tier. I will make it a point to make it back here next time I'm in town. more

Amazing Quesadillas 9/14/2009

I thoroughly enjoyed this place when I was visiting Boston a couple weeks ago & sat on the patio for a late lunch. They're quesadilla menu is really extensive & you can make some strange options. I had avocados & black beans. SO good. I've tried already at home to recreate it! I recommend eating here. Pros: Food, Bar selection, Outdoor seating more

This place is overrated. Classic margs are good but the specialties miss the mark. Border cafes chips are much better. The coconut shrimp has no flavor and the servie so so. Unless you have downtown shopping stick to border cafe. more

went 2 times i a row. 1st time everything was perfect minus the waitress not hearing my request to take my food home- $7 down the drain. however- she was a good waitress non the less. the next night that gal heard me and i later enjoyed my left overs. its casual, its fast and its yummy. Pros: fast service, ""fast food"" Cons: speak up so wait staff hears your requests, salty margaritas more

Cactus Club is one of my favorita casual bars/restaurants in the area. The service is always friendly, food is great comfort food when you need it, and the infamous margaritas are delish. I hated margaritas untill Cactus Club showed me what an actual margarita IS! They have a great patio on Boylston Street (good for people watching) and the value for your money is very acceptable for Back Bay area.\r Promise me if you haven't tried Cactus Club you will? Your missing out if you don't go! Pros: Best Margaritas Around Cons: Best Margaritas Around....You drink more than you'd like more

Great Margaritas & Generous Portions with reasonable prices 12/18/2008

I was very surprised on my visit to Cactus Club. The Staff was incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable about their tequilas. After a mini-tequila lesson from my bartender I opted to try their ""Horni Margarita"" and it was delicious! The sour mix was very fresh, a nice refreshment from others I had that taste way to sweet and artificial. The food was hot and comforting. For Boylston street Boston area you will not find prices/value that can compete. I was a first-time Cactus-go-er and will most definitely return again. Pros: Fresh Sour Mix & large variety of Tequilas + Value for the Money + Service Cons: Parking - goes without saying for anywhere in Back Bay more

Wish there was one close to home :( 9/1/2008

My husband & I visited Cactus Club on a trip into Boston last week. It was actually the last place we had had dinner beofore flying back home and wish we had discovered it sooner! The service was friendly and attentive, the manager was very helpfull, the food was georgeous in both presentation and taste, and I have yet to ahve better margaritas! I would reccomend this place to anyone anytime! Pros: Fun, Hip Atmosphere & great margaritas! Cons: great margaritas! (keeps you drinking...lol) more

Best damn food & margaritas!\r Cactus Club knows how to do it right - from the great drink menu with delicious concoctions to the friendly and good looking staff you always leave here with a smile on your face. They play great music (even on the weekends) that appeals to all generations. They also have a HUGE buffalo over their bar that believe it or not, smoke comes out of his nose!!! Expect a wait on the weekends especially! BUT Every time I've been there there are always great looking women from the customers to the employees - so chat up a girl while your waiting for your table and enjoy a margarita from their over agerage and unique maregarita menu. The food is above average & when you put it all together along with very reasonable prices for Back Bay...I grage it an A! Pros: Great Crowd! Cons: Parking Stinks more
