Cabana Tans

I went here today for my first time and signed up. The lady in the front was so helpful and kind. She really knew how to spark up her customer service not only that I believe that she is just naturally a sweet person. She guided me through the process and left me feeling right at home. I will be going here for sure from now on out and anyone who wants to try it here, I know you will be making the right choice. :D more

I appreciated the very nice staff. The lady who sprayed me was very nice and made me feel comfortable. The overall ""in store"" experience was great. I already felt I came out a little dark, but the technician later told me I would continue getting dark. She didn't lie because by the end of the night I was very dark compared to my normal shade, with more of an orange tint. I was dissapointed with the outcome of the tan. Although the customer service was great I think it would have been better if there was a way to pick out the color, rather than the technician just go on with what THEY think would look nice. To bitchin. You're kidding right?? Darque Tan?? Have you ever been a ""member"" there? Probably not. They are a corporation and their employees treat you as such. NO way near the treatment you get at Cabana Tans. And your ""cat urine"" comment is a bit dramatic, don't you think? As if the rest of the clientele has no sense of smell. I have been to many different tanning salons in the past 10 years and all the larger chain style salons are too commercialized. This is where Cabana Tans excels. Independently owned and operated, they treat all their customers as if they were family. Their tanning beds are very well maintained, fresh bulbs, and very clean rooms. They have a great selection of tanning products to choose from and if they do not have what you are looking for, they will happily order it for you. This is really a great tanning salon. This tanning salon has great prices and a friendly staff. If you prefer to stay away from the tanning beds, but still want that sun kissed look, try the spray tan! The owner personally sprays you, and takes pride in the results. more

This is definitely one of the better salons that I have ever visited. I have been tanning at many salons around the Houston area for almost 10 years. Cabana Tans is clean and they have a great selection of beds. I really appreciate their ""by the book"" attitude, it shows that they are committed and serious about their business. When I was looking into airbrush tanning for my senior prom, I decided to try Cabana Tan. I drove thirty minutes to get there and bought the 3-for-$75 deal, rather than paying $30 for each airbrush session. The night before my first spray I showered and avoided lotion, as instructed. When I arrived, I was promptly airbrushed and rushed on my way because 'another appointment was about to come in'. I was treated as if my money was less important than the other customer's. The next day, I got to see the full tan and must admit that it was nearly flawless, with a few color imbalances here and there. A week later, most of the tan had faded, except for a few spots on my arms and legs that were still as dark as when they were applied. After two weeks, I called in and complained. I asked for my money back for the next two tans I had paid for, and agreed to pay full price for the one I had recieved. The owner was very rude, making sure to point out that she'd been doing this for three years and hadn't had any problems so far. She said to come in and prove to here that the spots were there. I drove thirty minutes again, only to find out that she'd 'just left for the day'. I went back the next day and was greeted by the staff. When I told them my name, I was treated coldly and examined in front of the other customers. The owner denied seeing any spots, though I could clearly see them, as could my friends and family. She reluctantly refunded me and told me not to come back; which will not be a problem for me. Pros: Nice decor. Cons: Horrible staff and service. more

I used to tan here for a while and received average service. one day i came in and was told to wait because all the beds were occupied and others were waiting as well. after having driven the 20 minutes to get there, i waited for about half an hour and then was told by the owner's 40-something year old daughter that they were closing for the day and i would have to come back the next day! i asked her why she couldn't have estimated that 30 minutes ago and she got very rude, raised her voice and was sure to point out several times that she was ""the owner's daughter!"". after that day the staff became very unprofessional towards me, giving cold looks and sharp, short answers to anything i said or asked. it didn't seem fair to have to endure such rude treatment during a time that was supposed to be peaceful. i finally decided it would be best to just find another tanning place that actually values its customers. As the owner of Cabana Tans nothing makes me more unhappy than a customer that doesn't feel they got good service or personal attention from myself or my staff. The staff and I attend National Tanning Conventions and Seminars on tanning throughout the year. One of the things that we learn at these events is how to take care of our equipment so that our customers receive the maximum amount of tan for their money. Products that are sold at drugstores, discount stores, etc. do ruin the acrylics in our beds. (We have one acrylic on display in our waiting room to show the effect of these products.) I do not care if a customer does not purchase their tanning lotion from us, but we do require that it is purchased from a tanning salon. We carry a very large selection of lotions ranging from $15 on up. In response to jen22584 she was using a spray oil which no tanning salon OWNER would allow in their beds. The ages of my employees: 22, 40 and I am 71. The two employess that are 18 and 19 are never working alone, but with one of the three above. I can only say that we try.. and there is an old saying ""that you can not please everyone all the time,"" seems to be the only answer in this situation. I hope she finds a salon that she is happy tanning with. more

pepole who go to this great tanning salon always come back,even if they miss the first day.the service is always great and they are very experinced in tanning salons,and they give great advice on lotions and tanning bed levels.and whoever said the maneger was mean must be completly insane,ive known the owner for quite a while and ive never be mean to pepole even if they were complete jerks.I recommend this place to ANYBODY of all ages from 5+ its a great place.dont listen to those criticts the only reason they critisize is because they dont have a life themselves :).so try it just for 1 week and if you dont like the service then im sorry but ive always found excelent service there. I started going to Cabana Tans about 6 or 7 months ago. This was my first tanning experience. The staff is extremely knowledgable and friendly. The owner is the sweetest woman you could meet, she's very friendly and outgoing to all of her clients. She shows her care and expertise in her business and can get you the type of results you want. I'M NOT SURE WHAT THOSE OTHER PEOPLES PROBLEM IS BUT ANY BODY WHO HAS EVER TANNED KNOWS THAT LOTION IS THE KEY TO A GREAT TAN AND THAT BANNANA BOAT LOTION IS NOTHING BUT JUNK. I TOO ONCE BOUGHT LOTION OFF THE INTERNET AND WHEN I STARTED USING IT , IT BROKE MY SKIN OUT BECAUSE I FOUND OUT IT WAS NOT THE REAL LOTION IN THE BOTTLE. I HAVE BEEN TANNING AT CABANA TANS SINCE THE SPRING OF 03 AND THE OWNER AND EMPLOYEES HAVE ALWAYS BEEN VERY HELPFUL AND NICE. AS FAR AS THE SELECTION OF LOTION THAT THEY HAVE THERE IS A BIG SELECTION TO CHOOSE FROM IN EVERY PRICE RANGE. my first experience with tanning in a salon was about a year ago. i decided to try out cabana tans and I LOVE IT! All the staff is very friendly and always greet you with a smile. The owner of the salon is very sweet and nice and she makes you feel welcomed and she answers any questions that you have.. no matter how crazy the question might be! The salon is always spotless and very well kept and organized. i dont know what more i can say about this salon except for it is the best in town!! more

I have been a tanner at Cabana Tans since 2001. I find it very offensive for the owner and staff of Cabana Tans to be subjected to the immature comments on this site. Over the years, I have purchased many products some of which have been as low as $15 and I believe that all of her products are very fair in competitive with other tanning salons. The owner and staff repsect their customers as should the customers should respect the rules of Cabana Tans and the state laws in which they abide by. It is very expensive to be self-employed in any industry, therefore if the former customers had any knowledge of the expense of the upkeep in equipment they would understand the importance of using proper products. I've been going here for the last 2 years and have never been disappointed. The staff is amazing and are always willing to help accommodate you in every way. They are super professional and everything is SUPER clean, which is always a plus in my book! I have been to several salons through the years and this is by far the best one I have been to. It says alot about a place when they remember your name and have a smile for you every time you walk in. As a first time tanner, the staff there really took the time to make me feel comfortable. They showed me exactly how the bed works along with explaining the differences between all the lotions and which would be best for my skin type. There shop is very clean, relaxed and being insdie a neighborhood you get personal attention. I highly recommend this tanning salon to anyone. more
