Horrible haircut from a new woman from Port Arthur. Told her I only wanted a trim & wanted to keep the length. Before I could stop her she cut off 5 inches! I was devastated. It's been years since I've wanted to cry from getting a haircut. Stay away from the woman. Her station is the first one on the right hand side when you walk in to the Bellaire location. I've gotten haircuts here before but after this experience I will NEVER go back. It's cheap you get what you oatmeal for. more

Came here for my cut & color and found out that they also do permanent makeup. I have a very busy work schedule with 3 kids, so decided to have my eyeliners also done by Ana. It's painful but manageable and worth every penny of it. more

First time visited the salon because my cousin was from Seattle who visited us and wanted a hair cut so i took her there since we were hanging out in the southwest area where all good restaurants are. The hairstylist's name was Ana. She took her time to cut my cousin's hair and she is really happy with the new hair style Ana recommended. Oh, and the price is reasonable too. So give Ana a try. more

BEWARE OF THE OLD MAN owner Le Nam...HE CAN NOT CUT HAIR and has not cut hair for over ten years...does not care and will not listen to what kind of style or cut you want = he does whatever he wants!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER...came in for the 1st time on a referral for just a simple trim (had long, healthy and full of body dark brown hair below bra line) and highlights ONLY and as luck would have it? The arrogant idiot chopped off most of my hair with a straight edge and the teethy scissor never even used an actual scissor...so there is no structure but a huge ugly mess without an ounce of style unless it's the 80's!! Oh asked for highlights that's 2 shades lighter then my natural color and ended up with almost blonde highlights and he also took it upon himself to color my entire head a very light reddish brown. I know it was stupid of me to sit there and allowed him to butcher my hair but by the I realized what was happening the damage has been done and there was no turning back. So be warned...he looks harmless enough in his cheap suits walking around saying crap like ""you are beautiful"" ""I love your hair more then I love you"" oh my god...I wish he meant the latter because what he did to my hair is beyond cruel and unusual punishment. Tears and more tears...will take almost a year to get my hair back to the way it was. Good luck and be warned... more

I go to beauty express and Cindy has always cut my hair and I have always been very happy but after reading the reviews it looks as if Tracy is also a great stylist. Has anyone had both Cindy and Tracy and can tell which one is better? Thanks! Pros: price Cons: time for color more

I have black asian hair and Tracy is the ONLY one who knows what ""caramel"" means. Unfortunately I dont live in Houston anymore and was forced to go to other high end salons where my hair turned red, or green or blonde. It was awful. Im getting married next month and am making a special trip to Houston just to have Tracy do my highlights. Yes, she does work on other people at the same time, so block out a few hours. I've always left her salon frustrated with the time it took, but I look in the mirror and it was all worth it. Pros: Tracy Cons: The time it takes more

I would give this place 5 stars, but I've had a bad experience there. Henry is AWFUL!! DO NOT GO TO HIM!! he made my hair so thing i could see through it when i straightened it!! The women stylists are good. Beware of the old one. Other than that, this place is good for the price. Pros: Good Cuts Cons: Henry! haha more

After going to beauty express on a recomendation I could not be happier. Tracy did an amazing job on my hair. I made a huge change going from long brown hair to a short ""pob"" with bangs, dark color underneath and highlights on top. My hair came out great! The salon is definitely outdated but the service is great and the outcome and price can't be beat. Pros: great hair, low price Cons: not a ""salon"" experience more

I went there to get my hair lightened. i came in with strong healthy blondish hair and once they were through with me, my hair was falling out everywhere and felt like complete straw. They even gave me free products to appease me. I came home tried to rinse my hair to see if it was just some product making my hair stiff and it was not. My hair started falling out even more like something out of a movie. I had beautiful hair down to the middle of my back and now I have a bob. And even the hair in my bob is damaged. I would never recommend this place for anyone. it was the worst experience of my life. i had to spend 200 dollars at another salon getting them to help me fix my hair and not have to completely shave my head. I'm extremely picking with who touches my hair. \r With that said....I pay top dollar for my tresses to be trimmed or cut.\r Tracy is the bomb. \r You will seriously not find anyone else that can make you as happy as tracy can, with hair =)\r and on top of that....it's SUPER cheap. \r downside is: yes, she does work on a couple people while she's working on you. Being semi-new to Houston, someone recommended that I get my hair done here because they're affordable, but still do a good job. The salon itself is kind of hard to find. It's in a strip mall on the left side, so just pay attention to the signs. \r The salon is operated by all Vietnamese stylists, so communication may be a challenge when it comes to explaining exactly what you want them to do with your hair. I've seen them do haircuts, high/low lights, updos, and makeup. \r Like the other reviews said, it's best to go there during a weekday when it's not so busy. Otherwise, expect to wait a while on the weekends, especially when you don't have an appointment, as they do take walk-ins. But all walks of life get their hair cuts there because they do a good job and are, (keyword) cheap. For a wash, haircut, and highlights on long hair, I paid less than $60, AND that was including tip. I go there every time it's time for a haircut, and they're always friendly. After your first visit, they give you a card that saves you 10% off your next visit- cool. \r If you're picky about your hair, call ahead and make an appt with Tracy. She's the salon's gem and therefore, always booked. However, she does an excellent job of multi-tasking with her clients, so she'll still see you without an appt. She does it all- Just expect to wait longer to finish...\r If you don't want to wait for Tracy and still want a good cut, see Ly (pronounced ""Lee"")- the female one. (There's a guy stylist also named Ly.) She's been there almost 15 years. \r I do want to offer a word of caution: Henry. He's a stylist that's been there for many years as well, but doesn't listen very well. He's cut my hair twice and I won't go to him again. I've seen him cut others' hair and noticed they were fustrated with him as well. Henry seems to have the ""I know what you want"" attitude, and is slower than the other stylists. If you're free spirited with your hair, then he'll be fine for you. Everytime I've gone to Beauty Express, I've had a great experience. Tracy is highly recommended -- she does an amazing job! The prices are extremely affordable as well. I used to go to the really nice salons and pay a fortune for haircut/style, but then realized that I could get the same haircut/style here and pay less than half of what I used to! Tracy gets booked fast so make appointments early. She also works on multiple people at the same time, but this does not affect the quality of her work. Pros: Great haircuts, Great prices Cons: Sometimes have to wait more

Tracy gives a great hair cut for less than $20. It was better than the NY salons which I use to pay $140+. The catch is that she works on 4-5 people at the same time. She will be coloring your hair and while you are cooking she cuts someone's hair, while consulting someone else. It takes a long time to get anything done on a weekend. She is always booked and her mom takes her appointments or used to... and it's really hard to understand her. But I have seen nothing but great work from her. Pros: You will walk out looking good Cons: you will be stuck there for a long time, especially on a weekend more
