Our new favorite restaurant in Nashville 8/19/2011

Antonios has the best Northern Italian food in Nashville. My family and friends and I eat out once or twice a week. We have a few favorite restaurants and are always on the lookout for new places as well. It was only because of a Groupon that we happened to discover Antonios last year. Since then, we have gone to our old stand-by restaurants less frequently because we can't seem to resist Antonios' delectable menu, warm ambience and fine service. Looks a little fancy with it's white tableclothes, and table settings with wine glasses and candles, but you can go dressed casually. The atmoshere is lovely, and service is very good. Darrell is our favorite waiter. He remembers us and our preferences and is very knowledgeable about the food, the specials and the wine list. I haven't tried everything on the menu yet, but I don't think you can go wrong, especially if you order anything that comes with a sauce. The sauces are incredible. The chicken marsala is not typical, made with a touch of cream. It will blow your mind. Get it with angel hair. Other favorites are the grouper, saltimbocca, ossobuco, and the filet. Try the amaretto cake, if you still have room. more

pretend food - the Emporor's New Clothes 4/1/2011

Really, this food is tasteless, less than good. Expensive doesn't make it GOOD. Go somewhere else. more

Wonderful place and food 2/13/2011

I have tried many restaurants in Nashville and found this place to really be hidden. I was so happy we discovered it and eat there every week and invite friends to go with us. We like the atmosphere and service. The food is delicious with a good assortment of dishes. We like Italian and the salmon. more

Upscale dining in a casual atmosphere 6/12/2010

Antonios' cuisine in exceptional. You can tell that the chefs in the kitchen are professionals and are using the freshest ingredients because you can watch them prepare the food! It is hard to believe that this locally owned restaurant in West Nashville has been around for over 15 years. The prices on the Early Bird Menu are such a deal, my husband and I eat there once every week. Pros: delicious food more

Best Italian in Nashville 8/17/2009

My husband and I stumbled upon Antonios after looking for years for a great italian place in Nashville. Every time we go our server has been extremely knowledgeable and friendly and the food has been outstanding. Everything is fresh and cooked in front of you (Kitchen is surrounded by all glass so you can see everything going on). They have a decent affordable wine selection and the entrees are pretty reasonably priced for the most part. Go for the early bird special between 4:00 and 6:00 and get a great meal for a great price. Pros: Amazing Food and Impeccable Service Cons: After an amazing meal, the desserts weren't quite up to par more

Highly Recommended 6/15/2009

We like Antonio's a lot and enjoy dining there, but we pick times and days when they are not rushed or crowded. The superb quality of the food and the complexity of many of the dishes offered there requires a lot of attention by the kitchen staff to get exactly right...which they do most of the time...and all of the time when the place is not slammed. Also be careful to understand what you are ordering. The ""White Tuna"" also called ""Escolar"" is incredibly tasty, but has a dark side for some folks who cannot tolerant it's high oil content that is not easily digestible. The resulting side effects, while not usually fatal, can be quite unpleasant, leading the diner to suspect that something was amiss with the ingredients, when such was not the case at all. Just ask your waiter if you are not sure you understand what all the ingredients are in a particular entree and you have some known food allergy issues. Otherwise...Enjoy the wonderful and sometimes complex and unusual menu offerings that define Antonio's superb kitchen. Pros: Excellent food and Service... Cons: Hidden food allergies could be a problem for some... more

A Treasure 6/13/2009

Antonios is a treasure because it is always good, very predictible and just the right touch of class and service you can always count on. We love to go and experience the food, wine and watch the chef through the glass in the kitchen. A culinary delight! A salute Antonios!! Pros: great food in an elegant atmosphere more

Not a Positive Experience 3/1/2009

I certainly seem to disagree with others about this restaurant. I have had 2 bad experiences and my first was with the waiter opening our bottle of wine and leaving the cork in it. We told him that just wouldn't be acceptable. This past weekend I found the salad to have bad lettuce in it, have way too much dressing and my fish had a fishy taste with too much salt. The vegetables were ok and that is all. I have much better vegetables at J Alexander and many other places in Nashville. It was less than average and I won't go back. Thanks for listening to my opinion. I eat many places in town and around the country so not happy with Antonios. Pros: Nice setting and outside seating Cons: Not up to standards I am used to and my 2 times eating there were not good at all more

Worst service ever!! 2/14/2009

This was our first time at Antonios and we WERE very excited to eat here. When we got there, the hostesses were fighting & two couples actually walked out because they had been waiting an hour and someone 'forgot to mark they were there' when they had reservations. That should have been hint #1 to leave. Then after we waited 20 minutes to be sat, which was doable, we were served dirty water glasses. Their limited menu for that day had 3 appetizers, and they were out of TWO of them, with no substitutions for the missing appetizers. The appetizer came 20 minutes after, the salads were 25 minutes after that and were small and unimpressive. Definetly not what you were paying for. After being ignored several times for drinks, the main course got there 1 hr 10 minutes after that! If you are looking for a stress-free dinner - this is not the place to go. We had high hopes but will not give money to a place that obviously doesn't care about people. The dessert menu was also limited and over 1/2 of the ones originally offered were not available by the end of our meal. To top it off, the manager, when approached in a calm manner, was rude and could care less. Totally unprofessional. Cons: Cleanliness, Service, Customer Care, Seating, Professionalism more

Classic. 2/12/2009

Antonio's is a classic. My family goes there every Friday or Saturday night, and we have never had a bad drink, meal, or dessert-- really. There is valet parking at the front, tip only, and the service is precise both inside the restaurant as well as outside. Several great dishes I would recommend are the 10 ounce filet [outstanding], Suprema di Pollo, Veal/Pork Picatta, Shrimp Bisque, Caprese Salad, and ANY seafood pasta dish. Everything is consistent, so you won't be disappointed with whatever you try. When it is nice outside, it is the most romantic place to sit on a black night-- dim lights, candles, and it's secluded. Perfect place to take someone on a casual date or a romantic dinner. On certain occasions [Valentine's Day, for example], they have FABULOUS specials that aren't normally on the menu.\r \r Since my family eats there so much, we go ahead and buy their gift certificates. If you buy $100's worth, you get another $25 free. Great for spoiling yourself with a little cocktail or two as well as a dessert and/or dessert drink! Pros: Valet, Service, FOOD, DRINKS, and DESSERTS! Cons: Nada. more

very good food for a very good price 12/18/2008

For the price you can't beat Antonio's for Italian food in Nashville. We go there every month or so and have never had a bad meal. The ambiance is very nice too. Pros: food, price and ambiance more

Very nice Italian restaurant 12/6/2008

This was my first dining experience at Antonios and I was very impressed with the quality of the food. This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend and I was not disappointed. I ordered the lasagna dish and it better than I expected. Service was excellent..I we were greeted as we entered and as we were leaving. Our server was pleasant and the dining experience was very pleasurable. I highly recommend! Pros: Great service Cons: Parking more

AH-MAZING!!! 6/28/2008

This is a wonderful beyond words restaurant. When you first walk in you are greeted by the inviting scent of Italian bliss. Then, you are seated in the peaceful dining room or the patio. The waiters are very kind and helpful, they always are on top of things and have exceptional suggestions. The food is AH-MAZING!!! The food is always cooked to perfection by the wonderful chef. This is by far the best Italian restaurant in Nashville! I have only had fantastic experiences there. Pros: Amazing food, Good service, nice people Cons: NONE!! more

Bellvue's Italian Treasure 4/28/2008

It it a treasure to find Antonio's hidden away in Bellevue. The food is freshly prepared, which is my preference. I like to enjoy seeing, hearing and smelling food prepared while having conversation over a glass of wine. I have eaten there many times and have yet to be disappointed. I travel quite a bit and this has the meticulous attention to detail that I rarely find in Nashville. The wait staff is well versed in the menu and have accommodated additions to our dining parties from adding ten to my 2 year old grand daughter with no problem. The best is a romantic dinner for two, taking the time to enjoy the company over food and wine.\r I am a surgeon and Tony spends the kind of prep time and detail that I can respect. The menu has more than enough variety but each dish stands well on its own. I have tried most everything at least once and recommend the veal, duck or pasta. If you are in a hurry and value speed over freshness, maybe this place is a little complicated for your taste; but to sit down and enjoy dinner with friends and family, this is a wonderful choice. Pros: well thought out food Cons: tucked out of the way unless you live in Bellevue more

Service is the WORST anywhere! 4/23/2008

Our group used to go every month to celebrate birthdays and at first it was exceptional, that's why we kept going back. However, over the last couple of months the service has gone downhill. Last night was the worst! We had a reservation for 15, only half of us received our food and the other half received their meal 30 minutes later. One order was wrong and the waiter argued that it was our fault because we ordered the wrong thing! Unbelievable! The waiters never did come and check on us, and there were only a couple of other tables that had people at them. Our drinks were not filled, it took 20 minutes to get a glass of wine. When we finally got through dinner we asked for our checks, after 30 minutes of waiting we requested a manager, and of course, he was off last night. So we waited, and waited, and waited. Another 15 minutes went buy, and all we got was we are working on it. After a total of almost 1 hour of waiting on our bill, we got up and left!!! One of the waiters that worked there, finally said to us we will take care of the bill and they were sorry. What a fiasco!!!!! The cooks were in the kitchen screaming at each other, highly inappropriate. Next time we are going to Mama Mias, or Finezza, certainly will NEVER go back there! If you do decide to go there, be sure you are not in a hurry to leave, it takes 3 hours!!! more

GREAT FOOD!!!!! Reasonable prices! 2/12/2008

I have eaten many times at Antonio's of Nashville. The atmosphere, service and food are exceptional. On my latest visit I had the lamb shank and it was fantastic. On other visits, I have enjoyed the seafood specials, veal, pork and randomly beef. Over many meals there, I have yet to have a bad meal. If you are looking for outstanding food at reasonable prices, you have found it.\r \r The menu offers a variety to please everyone. Give it a try. You will be glad you did. Pros: GREAT FOOD and SERVICE more

Overpriced for blend food 6/5/2007

Someone recommended this place as a very good italian. They try to make this place very classic and chic and based on the name, very italian but the food is below average and without taste. I ordered pasta with mussles and the pasta were drowned in the cooking water of the mussels, there was just a watery sauce (the white wine glazed sauce must have drowned with the pasata). My boyfriend order was also pretty tasteless, so one recommendation, do not waste your money in that place, the food is not worth it.\r Pros: friendly waiter Cons: Tasteless food more

Amazing Date Night 2/18/2007

My husband decided to try somewhere new for Valentine's this year. We had heard very little about Antonio's, but decided to try it out anyhow. The bar was a great meet and greet open area. The dinning room had a very romantic feel with high ceilings and glass table tops. The waiters were very friendly offering our napkins into our laps. Being Valentine's, they had a special four course menu. We had a late reservation and they had run out of two items, but offered substitutions that were just amazing. The food presentation was immaculant! This resturant is the best little secret that Nashville has to offer. more

Old and tired 12/5/2006

I've gone to this restaurant many, many times and now I refuse to go back. It was great to have a restaurant of this caliber in Bellevue, but over the years they have really gone downhill. The menu has never changed in over ten years, and it has taken on an old and tired feel to it. It's sad, because this used to be a great place. Cons: Tired menu offerings, drop in service quality more
