Our favorite neighborhood place - the gelato is made on the premises as are the pasta, soup and many of the cakes and pies.

Worst

good but no where near worth what they charge. Everything is vastly overpriced, from the sandwiches to the deserts.

A piece of Chicago in LA 11/18/2005

I frequented the original Al Gelato in the suburbs of Chicago as a teenager, and I rejoiced to find Al Gelato right here in Los Angeles. I believe this is the only other location. Definitely the best ice cream in the city. Worth the trip no matter where in the LA area you live. more

Best Italian in CA 7/28/2005

Nobody knows about this place, and I previously intended to keep it that way. But I can’t. From the outside it looks like just a regular gelateria, but once inside you see the tiny restaurant in the back. The food is AMAZING. The raviolis only come in family-sized portions, and they are unbelievable. more
