Best

I always enjoy my time there. Sounds strange for a dental appointment, but I feel I get the best care and treatment . The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable.

Cheek: Terrible, Greedy, Man, and Poor Dentist, Too 7/30/2019

I saw Cheek in July 2018 when I had sore gums. They did an intense cleaning and I ended up in the hospital with an infection, and losing a tooth. Despite the fact that he took x-rays, he didn't see the crack in my tooth, and the cleaning aggravated it. I'd also called their emergency line and left numerous messages, since i was running a high fever, and nobody responded. Before the cleaning, I signed up for a one-year program, quite expensive, that covered one more cleaning and another set of x-rays. I wanted to ask for my money back, after my hospital visit, but opted to let it go. Five months ago, my mother was diagnosed with stage iv lung cancer. She never smoked and was never sick in her life. I called Cheek's office to cancel my appt. and reschedule. I ended up taking my mother to Yale, where they are saving her life. While dealing with that, I still managed to play phone tag with Cheek's office regarding rescheduling my appt. for when we returned to Raleigh. It turned out that we would be back just two days after the year expired. I called and asked the office if I could have an extension of a few days, just a few days, since we were away, getting my mother's lung cancer treatment. They said, "no." I was shocked. I called back and spoke to another person, and she said she'd talk directly with Cheek. I just heard back and the message is that "Dr. Cheek said you can't extend it." What a small-minded, callous, greedy man. SHAME ON THEM. more

My thanks to Craig Adams Michelle and Teki for making a tough surgery as painless as possible. They all showed genuine concern for my well being and health. This is the reason I have been seeing Craig for over 15 years. My thanks also goes out to Tamara who always makes sure I am doing all the right things for my teeth plus she puts up with my carazy self Plus Lindsey and Lena always make sure I understand what needs to be paid and what I should and should not expect to get in return. If I get rejected they are always willing to resubmit to the greedy insurance co. Thanks Gang more

New Bridge 12/3/2014

4.5 hours at the dentist today working on bridge number 6, permanent bridge number 4. The last one lasted 18 years so I can't complain. Dr. Adams of Adams and Cheek did a great job 18 years ago so I'm hoping for the same great treatment this go around. The temporary looks great and I'll receive the permanent one in two weeks. This is what happens when you are hit in the face with a bat 43 years ago. Definitely it went better today than ever before and better than I anticipated. A great dentist and his assistant today were both so caring and super efficient. Feeling tired but no pain so this is good! more

Mediocre Dentist 3/20/2009

Dr. Adams has a nice office in a great location. Scheduling and wait time are better than other offices I have visited in the area. However, the positives of being a patient here are outweighed by the negatives. Cleanings here really don’t seem to be as intense as I have received at other dentists. My teeth began to show staining after several months. This has not happened to me before. He will insist you need a custom mouthpiece. This will be very expensive and hard to sleep with. Buy one at a drug store for half the cost. He seems to cost more than other practices in the area in my opinion. The doctors and staff don’t have the greatest personalities either. If you are running late (stuck in traffic) they may be rude and cancel you appointment. Citysearch has nothing but good reviews for this office. I believed these reviews and payed the price. more

Awful. Will never go back! 10/6/2007

Write your review here. I Dr. Adams when I had a sudden toothache. The office was great about fitting me their schedule. Gorgeous office. Every new technology one can imagine. Once I got in the very nice dental chair, the 'selling' began. While waiting for my full mouth xrays to be developed, I was immediately told I needed to buy an electric toothbrush, which they had available and could pick up before I left the office. There were placards everywhere advertising this toothbrush. I could not understand why I had to have this very expensive! set of full mouth xrays done, because I only had a problem with one tooth. Then Dr. Adams appeared and proceeded to tell me that I would probably have to have a multitude of dental procedures done based on my xrays. I came in for the purpose of having him look at one tooth. The selling never stopped. At that point I explained to him that I had a mother that had cancer and a father that had just died of Alzheimers and right now, just needed to get this tooth taken care of. I had hoped, he would be compassionate enough to understand that I was not in the mood, nor did I have the time, for his upselling lecture. He said he was sorry to hear that. And continued with, "But........and continued to try to intimidate me. At that point I just asked if he could help me with this tooth. Today. He said yes, scheduled an appointment for the next Wednesday and I returned to have the tooth extracted. I had decided at this point to let him finish dealing with this problem, and would really question him about all these procedures the next time I went in. The most striking comment and response to my questions was regarding root planing. He said he'd have to refer me to a periodontist, but they could do the root planing here at his office. The cost? About $900 for each quadrant of my mouth. After further questioning about the procedure, he then stated that however, once I got to the periodontist office, they (the periodontist) might have to repeat the procedure. I was agahst!! Repeat the procedure!?! Why? He said that the periodontist might have to do things a little differently that what they (Adam's office) had done. At this point, I looked at him and said, "Then why, if there is a chance that this procedure would have to be done TWICE!, don't you just leave the root planing up to the periodontist? He looked at me and said, "I really don't have a good answer for that." Well, it was quite obvious at that point, that the reason for this is money. He was very happy to take the opportunity to do a procedure and then refer it out to be done again. Couple this with the immediate sales pitch for electric toothbrushes, big time xrays for one tooth, the scare techniques and lack of empathy, all made for a very frightening experience. He's got a beautiful office. Great high tech equipment. A wonderful location in North Raleigh and he's got to pay for it somehow. Beware of this guy. He's slick. Great bedside manner, but be careful. By the way. He did a fine job of extracting my one tooth. The bill? $700. For one tooth. And of course, full mouth xrays. I'll never go back and will give a heads-up to anyone who will listen. He is shameful. more

Futuristic Dentist 12/1/2005

Sometimes we call this the Star Trek dentist--there are mini-computers and high tech equipment everywhere. But Dr. Adams is also very nice and competent. They will work to fit you in if you have an emergency. They are not in my dental plan but the charges are still mostly covered so the rates seem competitive. more

Great Experience 8/5/2005

I had an experience with a dentist in Durham, who did a horrible job with crowns. I called Dr Adams and he saw me within 2 hours to work on a plan to fix them. Dr Adams and his staff are amazing! They do everything possible to make you feel comfortable. He made me feel really confident with him by showing me pictures of his work. I never had doubts, and now I know I will never go to another dentist in the Triangle again. I HIGHLY recommend Dr Adams and his staff. more
