Tres Belle Designs is a small shop packed full of interesting things--furniture, knick-knacks, frames, pictures and more. They also make custom window treatments. Their stuff is romantic/whimsical for the most part. It is a fun store to browse in, not a place to bring children. The prices are somewhat high as these are mostly boutique items--a good place to pick up a gift.

They carry outdoor/sports clothing, kayaks, and other cool stuff, plus all the guide books you might need! The supplies they sell are high-quality, better brands. We bought a tent and some outdoor guides and found the staff very helpful.

Raleigh Pediatrics has all the advatages and disadvantages of a big medical practice. They have lots of doctors and should be able to see your sick child, they offer late afternoon and Saturday sick hours, and they seem to have a handle on the billing aspects. However, they also have the problems of a big practice--it is hard to see the same doctor twice, especially for ill child visits, the non-medical staff is impersonal, and sometimes it is hard to get them on the phone.
