The food is still generally outstanding. The new space is larger and ""colder"", with a claustrophobic bar. The service can be stunningly bad. The original staff was warm, friendly, unobtrusive, with that sixth-sense great waiters posess. But last year I waited TWENTY MINUTES with my lunch date, as our waiter, who was only servicing 3 tables, swooshed by us repeatedly. Finally stopped him. Me: ""were you ever planning to serve us?"" He: ""sorry, I didn't see you two"". Amazing. Trying again some months later, I got unsmiling, abrupt service, but at least got served. An insider admits ""it was a real problem initially"" finding quality staff for the larger place. Well, its still a problem. What a shame. Go for the food. And if you do go, get seats at the bar with Paul Brown. He's terrific, and you'll understand immediately why we raved about the old WG.
