Turnpike Motors Auto Body

Overall, I think this shop's quality of work is excellent. The insurer was Travelers, and this was their one-stop shop, so I decided, out of ease, to get my car work done there. The work done to my car was really well done, they fixed everything after I was rear ended and my trunk and back bumper needed to be repaired- trunk was bashed in and stuck shut, back bumper was gashed up, taillight was cracked. Upon return my car looked brand new- as they cleaned the insides as well. The shop sent weekly updates via photos on e-mail, which I appreciated. The staff was also very attentive and courteous, which was also great. That being said, it did take them nearly a month to get the work done. In this I would rate them "poor". Maybe it was because they had a lot of other cars to work on. Maybe it was because it would take some time for parts to come in. Maybe they forgot my car was there. (In those picture e-mail updates, for at least 2 and a half weeks nothing changed on my car, just the angles at which they took the pictures) When I called and asked, I got a very ambiguous answer as to why the repair was taking so long. I also got another ambiguous answer as to when my car would be done. A week later and my car was nearly finished. This was the only aspect I did not enjoy. That and they pestered me a lot via e-mail to write this review. Seriously 3 e-mails in 3 days. I had already done at least 3 other surveys for the insurer, the shop, and the service, all before and when my car was finished. In closing, great auto-body work, moderate customer service in terms of answering questions about a time table, took awhile to get my car fixed, frequent and very similar surveys. more

I have never been more happy with the overall friendliness of the men at the front desk. Dan was so helpful and made me feel comfortable. I have just moved here so I didn't know what to expect. I had a different situation and he advised me what to do. My work was superior. I would highly recommend them. more

My car was dropped off on a thursday morning at 8am. I called everyday to chech on the progress. When I called monday morning my car had not even been seen yet. I didnt understand why i dropped off my car on thursday if they wouldnt get to it until monday. The black gentalmen at the front desk was rude and didnt want to help me with the situation at all. It wasnt until i asked for a supervisor that i was connected back to the same young man that had brought my car in (i believe his name was kyle, caucasion at the front desk). Kyle was very appoligetic and assured me the job would be completed by the end of the day tuesday. He followed through with his word and i was quite pleased. I was honored that Kyle would give me a gift certificate to the macaroni grill to help make up for the mix up. I have a great deal of respect for kyle. He maned up when he made a mistake and didnt mind making up for it. Great Job. If something should happen to my car in the future i will be back to see Kyle. more

We have had so many good experiences with Turnpike Motors. Friendly, knowledgeable staff that takes care of virtually all the paperwork for you, and impeccable work on our vehicles. We recommend them highly to anyone who needs auto body work and will keep going to them as long as we need to! more

Repairs look good, they were completed within published times, and the staff was quite helpful. The staff (Steve, I believe) stayed late the night I picked up the car as I and another customer both had difficulty getting to the store before closing due to area traffic. more

In November 2010 at the recommendation of a dear friend, Lt. Alvin Schwapp,I took my car to Tpke Motors for repairs to the hood and windshield. The Lt. told me Tpke Motors is certified to repair Mercedes Benz and he assured me their service was way above the cut of a certain Bloomfield autobody I used previously. Tpke Motors front office staff was professional, attentive and polite; a good sign of the quality service one would expect from a business that came so highly recommended. I was amazed at the results and quality workmanship. My car was returned like new and was detailed inside-out! When my car crashed in icy conditions 2 weeks ago, Tpke Motors was there to rescue me after one towing company punked out stating the roads were too icy to tow me to Tpke Motors. In both instances Tpke Motors arranged for my rental which took minutes. Couple days ago my car was deemed totalled by my insurance carrier. I was devastated! I cried but not for long. To ease my pain, Tpke Motors front desk staff took to finding me another car; an exact replica of my car befitting of my peculiar personality! Tpke Motors has spoiled me more than I have been spoiled before. I don't plan on other accidents any time soon but why would anyone have their car repaired elsewhere? more

Steve was very polite and helpful to me. Dan called regularly to keep me update with progress on repairs and I was so pleased with the quality of work. I was also surprised because they vacuumed my car. That was above what I expected. more

Would highly recommed Turnpike Motors. Everything was excellent from the updates of repairs, to customer service up to the end with a perfect repair. Always kept up to date as far as progress and Turnpike Motors dealt well with insurance company as far as getting the repair done the way they thought it should done rather than the way the adjuster recommended. The adjuster wanted all used parts while Turnpike Motors got us new parts. Job well done! more

I have done business with Turnpike motors on two previous occasions. I have recommended Turnpike numerous times to friends ho have had accidents. There was no reason to go elsewhere when my wife's Ford Windstar was rear ended. I was given an estimate of about three days. I agreed to using used parts to speed up the process. I was asked to leave my car the day the Travelers adjuster examined the van because they would need it to make sure the used tailgate would fit. The whole process took 6 working days, not counting the weekend. The reason I was told after three days was that there were several cars ahead of me. I can understand that, but I was not informed of this in the beginning. It was Christmas week and very busy for us. I would have delayed the repair until after Christmas if informed. On the plus side, the tailgate was repaired perfectly and looks great. James macRae more

Although the location for me personally was not convenient from home, it wasn't a bad ride from my office. So it wasn't a hardship to return to Turnpike Motors a week after the car had been fixed because there was something leaking and later found to be a defective radiator. Turnpike Motors was quick to say that it would be taken care of, and staff were apologetic and genuinely concerned for my inconvenience. I was glad to learn through my experience that Travelers is connected with a reputable shop and one that I can feel comfortable with. more
