The best Dim Sum I have had. It was as great as Dim Dum at the Sheraton Towers & Hotel in Hong Kong. The food was fresh and delicious. Wait for an upstairs seat as downstairs look...

Way Too Expensive! I have talked to Chinese people about this place and they avoid this restaurant because of price and also not authentic. I can have good inexpensive Dim Sum in ...

Solid Dim Sum 11/29/2003

Although this is not Yank Sing, it is a decent alternative to those who may not want to spend Yank Sing prices. Good are the small vegetable dishes including Chinese broccoli, fresh asparagus and Chinese greens. Dumplings are solid but not world class. One minus is the selection of dim sum offerings is not that extensive. Pros: vegetables Cons: limited selection more

Yuck!!!! 11/1/2003

I was looking forward to going there because I have seen good reviews online and even on some local newspaper, however it turned out to be this is the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever been in terms of the service. The food was good except for the portion is too small for the price, but I have been to better Chinese restaurants with better food with better service. Some of the waiters and the waitresses were very rude. It made us very uncomfortable, so we decided to leave the restaurant in the middle of the lunch.... Cons: bad service, expensive, poor parking more

Quality Chinese Food 8/21/2003

Yes, the dim sum pieces are not huge, but they are quite good. If you need a solid Chinese restaurant to hit without worrying about food quality or atmosphere, this place is hard to beat. Definitely better than Chinatown restaurants. Pros: Great Food, Atmosphere Cons: Parking more

Great Setting and Food 8/20/2003

One of the better chinese places in the city if you care about cleanliness and food quality. The have great Hong Kong style Chow Mein (Ton Kiang Chow Mein they call it) and quality dim-sum. The dim sum portions are quite small, however. Yes, Fook Yuen in Millbrae has excellent food but you cannot even compare the cleanliness factor to Ton Kiang. A great place to go late night and to take guests. Pros: Food quality, Fast Service, Cleanliness Cons: Small Dim Sum portion more

Best Chinese Food in the Bay Area 11/6/2002

If I am entertaining out-of-town guests who appreciate true Chinese food, this is where I take them. Ton Kiang offers the best dim sum I've found in California, hands down. The non-dim sum dishes are fantastic as well. This is one of very few restaurants about which I can say nothing bad. Wait, I take that back. They recently switched brands on their chili paste, and the older brand was superior. But that's the extent of it. Ton Kiang consistently serves excellently prepared food in a welcoming atmosphere. Pros: Authentic, Consistent, Delicious more

This is the place for DIM-SUM 10/3/2002

I have been in several dim sum places in the city. Ton Kiang is definitely in the hi-end. The food is just great, the service is very good. Dumplings are little gems. I have taken many guests from Italy and all really loved it. Quite expensive though. If you happen to be really starving you can spend well over $25. But if you love dim-sum and you want great service, well this is the place. Another pro is the ""location"": try also the great Vietnamise restaurant cross the street (La Vie) Pros: great dumplings, fast and good service Cons: expensive, line on weekends more
