This is a great place to meet people and have a good laugh. The bartenders are great people and if it is slow, they will come chat it up with you. I have only had one bad experien...

OK before I start ripping into this place... the bathrooms were REALLY clean last time I was there, which is amazing for a Saturday night just about anywhere. So that's a big plus...

If you like pretentiousness, this is the place for you! 5/17/2009

I'm a big fan of stand-up comedy, and the one thing that The Parlor does have, is a really good selection of comics, and that's about where the redeeming qualities of this place end. My friends and I went to go see a comedy show, which was being held in lounge area, where we had to stand in line. The line was fairly long, and it went across the VIP section of what I assumed was the dance club. So, we had to have a lot of waitresses move past us to get into the area. I was expecting them to say, "sorry," or "excuse me," or "pardon." Which I always assumed were basic courtesies. Instead, I actually had one waitress say to me, "move!" We finally got our table, and we ordered drinks and appetizers. The drinks were horrendously overpriced, and watered down. After ordering my food, the first act comes on stage and does his set. Then the second act comes on stage. I soon realized an hour and a half has passed by, and I still haven't gotten my food. I ask two different waitresses where my food is, and one guy who took some of our empty plates. The gentleman informed me that he wasn't a waiter, and that I should talk to the waitresses. I'm sitting there thinking, 'could you at least run back to the kitchen?' Eventually, the waitress who was working our table informed me that the kitchen staff had lost my order, and that my food would be complimentary. Granted, this was a nice gesture, but after asking three different people where my food was, what little goodwill I had was now gone. As many other reviews will attest to, this place has a major aura of pretentiousness about it. Until The Parlor learns how to get over itself, I have no plans of ever returning. Pros: Good selection of stand-up comedians Cons: Overpriced watered-down drinks, and lousy customer service! more

Wish they hadn't converted to a "club" 5/16/2009

Well, when this place first opened I liked it a lot more. The tables were plenty and it was not too crowded. I guess that wasn't doing it for them because they ripped out most of the pool tables and converted the back to a "comedy club". I can't comment on that since I've never been. I wish they'd left the tables and not tried to convert to a club atmosphere. There's Seattle for that. Now these guys are neither a pool hall or a club. It just doesn't work. I've never had any trouble with the security or service. I only drink beer so I can't comment on the claims of weak drinks. All I can say is try it out, some of you may like it and some of you won't. Pros: Nice pool tables, cheap happy hour Cons: Loud, not enough tables more

Sad and Shocking... 4/4/2009

If someone knows why they kick people out of this club for no reason at all....let us know.....so sad... Pros: Good music Cons: Discrimation...what??!! Yes! more

Is it a pool hall? Or is it a club? 3/29/2009

OK before I start ripping into this place... the bathrooms were REALLY clean last time I was there, which is amazing for a Saturday night just about anywhere. So that's a big plus. However, it's pretty much the only thing that saved me from giving this place 1*. I thought the bouncer was going to frisk me on the way in. Here I thought I looked all respectable, but I guess it did nothing to dissuade their suspicion that I might be a vandal. Getting a pool table is impossible, and if you make a bad shot people sneer at you. My buddies and I usually talk while shooting pool, but even shouting was drowned out amid the thumpathumpa of the dance floor. If I'd wanted to go dancing, I'd have gone to a dance club. I wanted to shoot. Getting a drink takes forever. And they will take it if you don't keep an eye on it. Overall, I was seriously underwhelmed and probably won't go back again. Pros: Location, clean bathrooms Cons: Everything else more

Terrible Place 3/17/2009

Anyone who can honestly say with a staight face that this bar is a great place to go - either probably works there, owns the place, or doesn't get out much. I went there a couple weeks back for a bday party and the wait to get a drink was unreal. The bartenders are incredibly slow and once you do get a drink you cannot even tell if there's liquor in it - they're so weak! Oh, and since the line was so long I tried to order for my friend who went to the restroom and the bartender told me that I can't do that and she could only serve one drink per person... Have you ever heard of such a stupid rule?!?! I went on the dance floor to talk to my friend and I got yelled at for taking my drink. Apparently there are no drinks on the dance floor. I understand this rule is probably for obvious reasons.... but cmon, again, have you ever heard of another club with a rule like this? The best clubs in the country are in Vegas, LA, NY, & Miami and none of them have such idiotic policies. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Cons: Weak drinks & Stupid rules more

Wish I could give it NO stars!! NEVER AGAIN! 3/16/2009

This is the worst place ever! Went with a group to celebrate a girlfiends 30th bday - place is half empty.. we moesy on up to the bar and order a round (weak drinks.. water in the vodka much?) we stood around for a few minutes trying to decide where we were going to sit and along comes Mr. Roid Rage bouncer and tells us we can't stand there so we move a few tables away dicussing if we wanted to head to the dance floor or wait for the rest of the party - here come Roidy Bouncer #2 telling us to move - did I mention the place was half empty??? one of the people in the party made a mention to me "not sure where we should stand" Roidy comes back over and yells "if you don't like it then there's the door!" seriously Roidy needed to chill.... we are all in our 30's - not new to the club scene! so we move along and start to dance and are acutally having a good time - when the Birthday Girl was escorted out for NO reason!!!!!!! they would not let her get her purse (weird) or tell the rest of us. Is this place a JOKE? she had only had TWO drinks!! I guess laughing and dancing is not allowed. To top it all off one of the girls left her CC cards and we had to go pick it up that Monday - she wrote her total and even added a tip (more than I would have done). She checked her account a few days later and they had charged her TWO totally different charges. This place is a waste of space. I have worked the Belltown bar scene for YEARS and have never come accross a bunch of loser security that doesn't know there a** from a hole in the gound. You people have no idea how to run an establishment. Good luck. We will never be back and have told eveyone and their mama to not bother with this place. Pros: No Pros Cons: Too many to name more

Awesome place that is getting lots of 1-star reviews from losers that got tossed! 2/25/2009

I looked up the place on google to give the right address to my friends and saw the poor ratings. Being a regular here, I would like to shed some light on this and give a 3rd person perspective. The Parlor is not your typical swank pool hall ? you won?t see neon Budweiser signs, brass rails or cowboy hats there. By day it?s a chill lounge; by evening it's a rocking club. Managers there run a tight ship - no hats, no drunks and no jerks allowed. As a result, there are no fights, no thowup on the floor and nobody selling coke in bathrooms. A 1-star review said that the place was "full of ugly girls". The sheer quantity of quality T&A at this place can cause whiplash! Plowed drunks trying to get in, or doing stupid stuff and getting tossed are posting here the next morning. ?We were on a packed dancefloor with our shoes off and our drinks in-hand and they warned us!? - DUH! The Parlor follows State Law by not serving people that have had WAAY too much and I am thankful for it ? I don?t want some moron to bathe me in beer or pick a fight around me! The idea that they toss people to make room, is just false! I've seen obnoxious people get asked to leave when the place is 3/4 empty. I don?t know of any sit-down restaurant around that area that is ?cheaper? and their food is great! I only wish they offered a soup! As per the drinks ? they are Bellevue-priced, but much stronger than Joeys. Per the serving speed - I have NEVER had it take 20 minutes to get a drink. Bottom line is, if you want to bar-hop, get stoned, get plowed, get a beer bath and possibly catch a knife between the ribs, go to Pioneer Square. If you want to go to a classy place, to have a drink, eat a quality meal, watch a game, check out some hot tail, play some pool, dance to a live dj, or catch a live show, check this place out. If you need more proof, check out the lines stretching around the corner to get into this place on the weekends ? most of those people are obviously not posting here! Pros: Fun, cool, parking in-building and good security to keep the creeps out. Cons: Often packed and hard to get a table - guess I am not the only one that likes the place. more

Horrible Customer Service 2/25/2009

I am a 37 mother and do not go out much. My girlfriends and I went to a comedy show at Parlor's on the evening of February 21st. We bought two glasses of champagne each, food and then decided to have some coffee. After the show, we went to the dance floor and were laughing and took a couple photos. The next thing you know, one of my friends was being escorted away, totally confused as to what was happening. We were all being escorted out and were completely confused. We though that one of the girl?s fiancees was playing a joke or surprising her. We kept asking why we had to leave and they said one of my friends was ?too drunk?. We could not think of anything she did. Apparently laughing means you are drunk. It seemed interesting that Parlor?s had no problem taking our money for the comedy show, drinks and food, but then our friend was ?too drunk? to stay. A friend said she was outside prior to our being ?escorted out? and she said she had seen another man asking what he did and that he was just sitting at the bar talking to a friend and laughing. Now he was told he could not stay. He seemed to be completely shocked. There was a long line and I know there are fire codes, so this leads me to believe Parlor?s wanted to get people in, take their money and move them on out so more could come in and spend money. I called the manager, Bill, afterwards who was very rude and condescending. No customer service skills whatsoever. I have visited this establishment several times and have set up several company events there, but I will never set foot in that facility again. I felt like I was treated like some low life and made to feel like someone I am not. This was a very upsetting experience and we put down plenty of money at this club. more

Worst experience ever... 2/25/2009

Do not waste your time. My friends and I, approx group of 10, visited this place Valentine's Day evening. We had no problem getting in, other than the fact the guys had to check any hats which is fine. However the experience immediately went downhill once we tried to order drinks. First of all there were only two bartenders for a Saturday night, let alone Valentine's Night. Needless to say the wait was a bit long. Again, I can uderstand. I wish I remembered the bartender's name who treated all of us like second class citizens. A buddy of mine ordered a drink, which was weak. He tipped a few bucks and asked if he could get more vodka. The bartender replied, "Not for a 10 cent tip." He didn't realize the other bartender picked up the tip along with others lying on the bar. This was mistake #1. Next my girlfriend proceeded to order both of us a drink. He would not let her order two, I had to come up to the bar to claim my beverage. I had been standing waiting by one of the nearby tables. Once I got to the bar, he refused our order and said my server would take my order. He proceeded to argue with me even though I never had a server, nor sat at the table. This was mistake #2. After being completely turned off, we decided it was best to leave once my friends finished their drinks. A server came up to us and asked for our order. I politely refused and said we'd be leaving soon. She immediately turned to the bartender, and said, "This group, cut off!" Mistake #3. A few of the girls wanted to try and dance to salvage the night, but once we got to the small dance floor we were then advised no drinks on the floor. People, save your money and don't bother. This was absolutely the worst customer service I have experienced. It's Bellevue, and a mall for crying out loud, not NY! Pros: Several pool tables, decent music Cons: Bartenders, wait staff, pretty much the entire place is lame more

Will serve you until you stop buying drinks, then hunt you down, kick you out, to let someone else in! 2/22/2009

We celebrated my best friends' bachelorette party on Saturday night starting at the comedy club. The show was pretty good and the waitresses had no problem keeping the drinks coming. Near the end of the show we decided to drink coffee. After the show we proceeded down the hall to the dance club area. It was completely packed and you could barely stand. It was so hot and stuffy I decided to go outside and get some fresh air which required leaving the Parlor and heading downstairs to the sky bridge. I was amazed at the line of people waiting to get into the bar. There were at least 100 people. When I came back there was a man standing outside with some bouncers and he couldn't understand why he had been removed from the bar. He seemed slightly buzzed but by no means was he wasted or causing any disturbance. The management was rude and wouldn't even let him back in to tell his friends he was forced out. I went back in and found my friends. We were trying to dance with the small amount of room we had on the dance floor and a few minutes later an employee came and ask my friend (the bride to be) for her ID. She gladly gave it to him thinking we had planned something for her and then he asked her to step off the dance floor. None of us knew what was going on so we followed. He walked her to the main entrance and outside of the bar. It was then that he told her and us that we were too drunk and had to leave. This was a shock to us all since we had been to the show at 9:30, paid over $30 a ticket and spent at least $20 a piece on drinks and food. The show ended a little after 11pm and we were escorted out shorlty after midnight. The only thing we could think of is that we stopped spending our money after the comedy club and since there were over 100 people waiting to get in to spend their money, they sent their little "party crashing drones" througout the establishment to remove the financial undesirables to let their next victims in. Won't see us there again. Thanks! more

I've entered 5 separate continents with greater ease than this pretentious bar. 2/1/2009

"You guys are making it hard for me to let you in" said the bouncer dismissively before calling over the manager to work out whether or not 2 suspicious suspects like my girlfriend and I should be allowed into their 1/2 empty bar at 7:30pm on a Saturday night. You see my girlfriend is from Georgia and presented a Georgia drivers license which didn't scan properly for some reason, and I'm from Australia and ONLY had a passport to verify my identity. The people at the immigration desk at Houston airport didn't see a problem with using my passport to verify my identity on my way into the USA a couple of months ago so either the USA has slack border security or these guys need to stop taking themselves so seriously. I know which one I'd vote for. So after being removed from the line we got to spend 5 mins in purgatory while the manager found time to come over and decide whether we should be allowed into what must presumably be "heaven" inside. After scrutinizing my passport for a minute or so he demonstrated why he holds a senior position inside the "Ultralounge" by confirming that my passport is indeed a valid form of identification and I am now permitted to enter. He then walked off with my girlfriends license and attempted to scan it a few times before coming over to explain that she isn't allowed in "for the safety of other patrons". Are these guys kidding or what? more

Worst New Years Eve of my life! Expect Discrimination, Sexual Harrasment, and mean staff 1/2/2009

I went to the parlor for New Years Eve 2009 and it was the worst night of my life. My boyfriend was one of the dj?s for that night and we also came with four other people. When we got in line the staff there where already being really rude to us from the beginning! They didn?t want to let us in even though we where on the guest list and my boyfriend and his friend were the opening act! We finally got one of the promoters there to let us in and when we got in we bought a few drinks and where dancing having fun when all of a sudden the security there come to us and said we can?t dance and drink at the same time and we where not even sloppy drunk it was our first drink of the night! Can you believe it you can?t even dance and enjoy your 12 dollar drink, but the guy next to me was dancing crazy and drinking out of a flask but nobody said anything to them. Then a few girls took there shoes off and where dancing on the dance floor. A few of my friends thought it was a good idea because our feet where killing us so we did it to, but here comes the security guard telling us we can?t do that but they didn?t say anything to the other girls. Also towards the end of the night the staff started taking drinks away from people and one of the guys took my friends drink and felt her up while he did it! I live in Seattle and usually go to Trinity, Venom, and Last Supper club and never experienced anything like this until I went to ?The Parlor?. I can tell that just because we didn?t buy a table at the parlor on New Years Eve we where discriminated because maybe they didn?t think we had ?money?. I hate this place and will never go back! Also on top of that the dj?s didn?t even get paid what they where offered and they where charging $50.00 a person. So if you?re a dj?ing wanting to dj at the parlor forget about it. They will lie to you and won?t pay you what they promised! Pros: No Pro's at all Cons: Hate it more

Parlor is the WORST bar I have ever been. 12/19/2008

Parlor definitely have HR problem. After looking at other reviewer's comments, I can see the owner really have hard time finding right person to manage his store. The manager in Parlor is over powering and have problem distinguishing between right and wrong. I was helping my sick girlfriend in the restroom and coming in and out couple time to get her some water. The manager think i am wobbly and ask me to leave without asking anythings. It is very very ROUGH. I am very DISAPPOINTED. Pros: Parking. Inside of building Cons: Worst service ever. Worth Manager ever more

Finally Bellevue get's some nightlife! 11/2/2008

We just held my company's launch party last weekend. Everyone of the 80 plus people we invited had a fantastic time. The food was fantastic, the staff waited on us hand and foot. They had their Vixens all girl pool team show everyone trickshots and tips. Instead of everyone just sitting around, they had everyone interacting and having fun. This is not your run of the mill Pool hall... think high end bar/restaurant, classy billiards hall, sweet private rooms, and super cool nightclub. I never expected to find so much under one roof. Never knew downtown Bellevue could be so fun. Thanks! Pros: Validated Parking yay! more

Terrible Security Guards 10/26/2008

I'm in the middle of writing a letter to their owner Steven Olson to file a complaint against one of their Security Guards. He had this misconception that I was under the influence and gave me and my girlfriends the boot on my Birthday! (Which isn't even close to the truth. My husband was with me, and we have a beautiful baby boy to return home to.) I'm asking him for an apology for embarrassing me in front of my friends and family. If I don't get a response back from him, I'm forwarding the letter to our State Attorney General. Along with the Washington State Fair Housing commission WLAD (protects us from being decimated against based on sexual orientation). more

Decent Happy Hour, Poor Service, Long Waits 10/2/2008

First the good things: The happy hour here isn't bad and has reasonable prices. Nice downtown location. Free parking most of the time. THE BAD: Terrible service, even when it isn't busy. Took forever to get a drink. The cocktail waitress kept asking my wife and I for business cards. What's up with that??? It made me not want to come back. There was a fruit fly in my drink as well. Classy. The place just seems like it's trying too hard overall. To sum it up...I've been here before but too many mediocre/poor experiences are starting to add up. The food is glorified bar food and the cocktail waitresses are generally rude and pushy. Definitely not coming back. I'm excited for new clubs/bars coming to Bellevue soon so we won't feel the need to ever come here. And you can play pool ANYWHERE already so it's fine. Pros: Good happy hour. Cons: Rude staff. Crowded. Slowwww on everything--lines, drinks, service. more

DONT EVER GO THERE. its run by losers that were social rejects in HS 9/14/2008

bad service. ugly girls. rude managers. liars. don't waste your time. they ruin the eastside classiness. get out of there. Cons: EVERYTING more

Over priced, rude staff, terrible management 9/1/2008

Is it a club? Is it a lounge? Is it a pool hall? Who knows. The Parlor definitely has no clue what they are or where they're going. My friends and I come here every now and then since it's the only place to go on the East side. It's incredibly overpriced for what you're getting. The clientele is ridiculous. Thugs and cougars on the weekend nights, to sum it up. Takes forever to get a drink. The management is a bunch of douchey old guys with high water pants and combovers who seem to toss people out at random. One drink at a time, per person, no exceptions...so you basically can't have any fun. Save yourself the trouble, go party in Seattle, The Parlor is a crowded, cheesy, Vegas club wannabe INSIDE A MALL. There's nowhere to go around it either, so forget bar hopping, Bellevue doesn't have that yet. Pros: There's a lot of people you could make fun of there...I guess? Cons: Absolutely everything. Prices. Service. Management. more

Honestly NO!!! 8/14/2008

I hate this place!!! I asked to talk to a manager and two old men came up to me in this so called hip club and asked what the problem was, I told them my cocktailer seemed drunk and couldn't remember a drink for the life of it. I then went up to the bar and asked for a shot and a beer and the bartender told me and my buddy that he couldn't give us a shot and a beer it was against there policy. What kind of club is this!!! Don't go here this place has no is what you call tools I a shied. Good luck generating existing customers when you treat people like trash. Cons: Everything more

Worst customer service I have ever seen!!!!!!!!!! DONT GO HERE!!!!!!!!! 7/23/2008

Do not go to this junk place. Let me tell you about my experience. We were in a group of 5 and my friends and I never recieved our drink order for almost 20 minutes!! We at first we like " oh, lets give them a chace".. the we decided otherwise when a waitress flashed us her private parts. do not waste your money here, it is undescribably terrible. Pros: nothing Cons: EVERYTHING sucked. there was no toilet paper to BOOT!!! more
