I looked up the place on google to give the right address to my friends and saw the poor ratings. Being a regular here, I would like to shed some light on this and give a 3rd person perspective.
The Parlor is not your typical swank pool hall ? you won?t see neon Budweiser signs, brass rails or cowboy hats there. By day it?s a chill lounge; by evening it's a rocking club. Managers there run a tight ship - no hats, no drunks and no jerks allowed. As a result, there are no fights, no thowup on the floor and nobody selling coke in bathrooms. A 1-star review said that the place was "full of ugly girls". The sheer quantity of quality T&A at this place can cause whiplash!
Plowed drunks trying to get in, or doing stupid stuff and getting tossed are posting here the next morning. ?We were on a packed dancefloor with our shoes off and our drinks in-hand and they warned us!? - DUH! The Parlor follows State Law by not serving people that have had WAAY too much and I am thankful for it ? I don?t want some moron to bathe me in beer or pick a fight around me! The idea that they toss people to make room, is just false! I've seen obnoxious people get asked to leave when the place is 3/4 empty.
I don?t know of any sit-down restaurant around that area that is ?cheaper? and their food is great! I only wish they offered a soup! As per the drinks ? they are Bellevue-priced, but much stronger than Joeys. Per the serving speed - I have NEVER had it take 20 minutes to get a drink.
Bottom line is, if you want to bar-hop, get stoned, get plowed, get a beer bath and possibly catch a knife between the ribs, go to Pioneer Square. If you want to go to a classy place, to have a drink, eat a quality meal, watch a game, check out some hot tail, play some pool, dance to a live dj, or catch a live show, check this place out. If you need more proof, check out the lines stretching around the corner to get into this place on the weekends ? most of those people are obviously not posting here!
Pros: Fun, cool, parking in-building and good security to keep the creeps out.
Cons: Often packed and hard to get a table - guess I am not the only one that likes the place.
