Tough management company, but very fair.

MANAGER SHOULD BE FIRED!! 5/11/2011

This is a beautiful Art Deco bldg but the Manager who processes applications is a NIGHTMARE. Nastiness, most rude, condescending person in Real Estate. Treats everyone with contempt and FLAGRANTLY violates Discrimination Laws. CITY SHOULD INVESTIGATE if they do not fire ""managers"" more

WORST COMPANY EVER! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! 5/6/2011

This place is run by the most HORRIBLE human being ever...MIKKI. AVOID AVOID AVOID. She's inhuman, has no compassion or understanding, is RUDE and INSULTING. SHE HAS NO HEART OR FEELINGS. Everything you're reading here is true. We have contacted the better business bureau to report this horrific person (MIKKI). IF YOU SEE SIBA...RUN FOR THE HILLS! Even if it's your dream apt...RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN. more

FRAUDULENT LIARS 12/8/2010

I saw a unit on the 8th floor at one of their buildings on 18th St. I liked the apartment layout, location and price so I promptly pulled all necessary paperwork together plus the $80 application fee. When I delivered it to the office I was told the unit was no longer available but a similar unit 2 floors lower was about to become available. I asked Mikki, the office manager, and her minion receptionist at the front window (yes, when you enter the ""office"" they actually trap you in this tiny vestibule between two doors and you must speak through a plexi-glass window - should tell you something right there) to hold the application and check for the apartment and I walked directly to the building to see that it was comparable. When I called them immediately after viewing the apartment the office told me the apartment was now mysteriously unavailable. How it had been taken when it hadn't even been on the market is beyond me. Then they proceeded to push a 2nd floor unit facing a brick wall onto me saying it was cheaper and just as good. Not the case. Mikki has obviously made a practice out of this scam and of course she refused to return the $80. While standing in the vestibule I noticed the receptionist flipping through 8-10 applications all with checks attached. I can only imagine how profitable it is for them to scam 10 people a day at $80 per person. Clearly they have a need for the plexi-glass window - I can only imagine how many would-be tenants have angrily tried to reclaim their application fees after they were given the run around. I wish I had read all of these reviews before submitting an application. The office location is in a shady diamond district building, the vestibule plus plexi-glass should tell you something right there and if that is not enough, take a look at Mikki and you will see that you should submit your application elsewhere. I will warn everyone I know about this crooked management company. more

Mikki at Siba Management is a liar and should be fired!!! 11/10/2010

I urge anyone in New York to not be fooled by the nice looking apartments thru SIBA MANAGEMENT. You will have to deal with the biggest liar in real estate MIKKI, who has somehow gotten the job of being in charge of who gets what rental and who does not. There is no rhyme or reason for who she gives the apartments too. But she takes multiple applications without telling you and will gladly take your clients applicaiton fees and not refund them eventhough she already has someone else lined up for the apartment. She will tell you an apartment is available and than tell you an hour later it is gone but there is another one available that is not as nice at the same price. All are lies based on what she wants to do and she completely discriminates against clients as well. I know in real estate there is a bad reputation for people who are unethical but in my ten years in the business Mikki takes the cake. She has no right to have such power over people and her negotiating skills are to speak to you in four word sentences that make you wonder why you are trying so hard to get a deal done. She is rude, disrespectful, a liar and I have no idea how she sleeps at night. SIBA is by far the WORST management company in Manhattan and I urge everyone to go to Rose Associates, Brodsky, Equity Residential, Windsor Properties, etc. where you will be treated like a human being and not an animal. more

MIKKI is a NIGHTMARE 10/18/2010

I was warned about the management by a tenant before moving into the building, and I wish wish wish I had listened. Moving in was the worst experience of my life. I regretted my decision before I had unpacked. Mikki will treat you like dirt and seems to spend most of her time thinking up completely random and inane ""policies"" (NO exceptions made EVER) simply to make your life hell. I am still holding onto the hope that there must be someone other than this woman who I can deal with. Certainly this nutcase has a boss?!? From what I hear, I may be out of luck, but if anyone knows otherwise, please post!! I had no idea a management company mess with my life so much. There is simply no way to deal with people who do not respond to reason. AWFUL more

Miserable, Awful People. Liars. Avoid. 4/16/2010

Do not rent from SIBA. Save yourself! They are miserable people, specifically Mikki, the one (and apparently ONLY) person in charge. She does not, and will not, care about you as a tenant or even as a person. I have lived in many buildings in NYC over the past 20 years and have never, NEVER, dealt with anything as bad as this person at this company. At various times I have been lied to, hung up on, or just plain ignored. She does not listen to reason, to logic, or to anything resembling intelligence. She lies. She's rude. Miserable, unpleasant, dishonest... the list goes on and on. AVOID! Pros: None. No stars. Nothing. Cons: Mikki. Liars. Rude. Unpleasant. Disrespectful, Mikki more

COMPLETELY DISHONEST COMPANY/BEWARE OF MIKKI 4/16/2010

This is a horrible company with a complete contempt for tenants, even the ones that are model tenants who pay on time every month. Only one person in charge here and that is the indescribable Mikki: a pathological liar who is rude and dismissive. Someone should investigate this company for discrimination: it appears that falsely claim certain units are not available even though they are. They also offer lower rents for certain units but then refuse to lower the rent for existing tenants in good standing. Their response: Move out! You have been warned. And trying to talk to Mikki is like being at the table in Alice in Wonderland. Pros: nothing Cons: dishonest, contempt for tenants more

Very bad experience 4/15/2010

fortunately, I pulled out an hour before signing the lease. I went to see the apartment, and when I applied for it, they called that I am qualified, but that apartment is not available. then a new apartment showed up in the listing so I went to see it. beautiful apartment, but when I called Mikki, she said that apartment is not available, even though listing said it is, and super said it is. instead she wanted me to take much inferior apartment for the same prize. So I asked some of my collegues to call her and ask to see the apartment, to which Siba said, yes, they can go and see the apartment. I called super again next day, and he said they are still showing the apartment. so inner voice in me screamed of discrimination. so I pulled of signing the lease which Siba wanted me to take. Also their office is terrible. Its in a building full of jewlery dealers. what is a real estate firm doing there? also, you really don't even have a table there to sit, and talk to a person sitting behind the window. when you are paying that much of money, you atleast expect to sit and not feel like you are buying a train ticket. I only lost 80 dollars for the app fee, but that is far better than loosing 7k and finding out that I have been scammed. Cons: a lot, terrible way they treat you, horrible office more

the worst of the worst 10/26/2009

i rented with these guys through a broker in their upper west side building on W87th. street. These guys were crooks and highly discourage you to rent from them. if you don't believe me, your call but i have no reason to lie about these true experiences. Pros: nothing Cons: plenty, don't know where to start more

Get Rid of the MANAGER James and Super Wally 10/23/2009

This 2 individuals are responsible for soooo many vacancies at their building, they both are not polite at all, very disrespectful!!! and they do not comply with the tenants needss, Wally is always upset!! and screams at tenants when he is asked to fix something, he is always busy. so he says...he lies alot.....he is always kissing butt to James... HE DOES'T KNOW HOW TO FIX ANYTHING!!! ALWAYS EXPECT SOMEONE ELSE TO DO HIS JOB!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: KICK !!!the manager James & Super WALLY at 50E 78thstreet Cons: KICK the manager James & Super WALLY at 50E 78thstreet more

AWFUL!!! Run from buildings managed by Siba 10/1/2009

Siba is the worst management company ever. The management staff are rude, have no judgement, and treat their tenants with total disrespect. Please do not live in any of their buildings no matter how much you like the apartment and price...you will regret it big time! more

Beware of SIBA 9/17/2009

I think that the executives at SIBA should join Bernie Madoff in prison! Personally, I dont see a difference they are both criminals. BEWARE of SIBA properties. more

ALL REVIEWS TRUE-AWFUL MANAGEMENT COMPANY 8/17/2009

I have to agree with all reviews below. I work in property management and must say that it is absolutely both SHOCKING and disgusting that I am treated the way that I am. Just getting the apartment a year ago was a big enough inconvenience, and the day after I signed the lease, SIBA has been nothing but nasty and awful to me. Their policies do not make sense-their policies only are set up to inconvenience the tenant. They really do not care about their tenants, AT ALL. Do not expect any favors, or any convenience from them. I am sad to say that I will be living here for another 10 slow months. My biggest regret was not moving out two months ago...I strongly encourage anyone looking at any of their buildings to take these reviews seriously-unless you want your property manager to talk to you like you are the sh*t on his shoes-No exaggeration. You would think if you spend $4000 a month on an apartment, you would at least be treated with some sort respect or politeness -NOT HERE-don't expect it. Do not make the same mistake I did. Pros: Horrible people Cons: Horrible people more

Terrible management company...liars...just A***oles 8/8/2009

DO NO RENT FROM THIS MANAGEMENT COMPANY. They will do anything to spoil your stay....they will jack up rent to astronomical levels....threaten to kick you out for painting...will treat you with complete disrespect after you have moved in....almost everyone in the building hates them..... BUYER BEWARE!!!!! Pros: Total A**holes....just terrrible people Cons: Liars, scumbags more

wonderful place to live 7/22/2009

I have been thrilled with my SIBA apartment . It is in the best location and the best deal around. the doormen are polite and courteous and management treats me with respect. They have been responsive to every request and the building is spotless. Pros: best value and service more

THE WORST MANAGEMENT COMPANY POSSIBLE 7/17/2009

I am a past tenant of a Siba property, and I have to say the management company is seriously the worst management company you could ever imagine. Their policies do not make sense and based on the way they treat you, you would think their strategy is to make your life hell. It is really disgusting the way they treat their tenants and shocking that they even have tenants at this point. I would STRONGLY STRONGLY discourage any person that is interested in even looking at an apartment to walk away. I have dealt with Mikki too many times, as I was unable to speak to anyone of a higher authority and my experience was so miserable time after time. I was warned before I moved into my apartment, but I did not take it seriously. I thought how bad could it really be? But trust me, they are really REALLY the worst. All of the other reviews are accurate. It is not worth spending money on an apartment at a SIBA property, when you could go to many other buildings, managed by other companies and actually be treated like a paying tenant. Cons: everything more

Dirtbags...all of them! 7/14/2009

All previous reviews are completely correct. If anything, SIBA is even worse than described. Hard to believe, I know. But sadly so true. Pros: Location Cons: NO Location is worth the hellhole you find inside more

Nightmare 4/28/2009

Mikki and SIBA Management are horrific. Heartless, rude, deceptive and dishonest ? are their better qualities. more

RUN don't walk!!! 2/11/2009

Siba mgmt is absolutely, positively TERRIBLE... RUN don't walk... if you are a tenant, leave... if you are considering, forget about it. The ""titanic"" describes the hopes of a good relationship/experience that quickly plummets to the depths of the sea. Pros: just think Titanic Cons: the Titanic sank more

SIBA MGT could not be WORSE 9/6/2008

SIBA MGT could not be any less professional. They display complete disregard for their clients and seem to go out of their way to inconvenience apartment hunters. They require an overly absurd amount of information for their applications. They claim to process the applications on a 1st completed, 1st serve basis but when asked about the order of arrivals, can give no answer. In other words, they lie about their own policies. On top of this, they work at a snail's pace and for anyone who knows the nyc rental market, this is unacceptable. It leaves apt hunters stressed out and often without an apartment at a critical time during the moving process. Don't expect them to return your phone calls or emails in a timely fashion either. They will make excuses all day and occasionally make a promises that they will inevitably break. Whoever is the owner should be ashamed of the people that represent SIBA to say the least, and more reasonably, should replace them with people who can do their jobs. more
