A year ago we had to replace our inside AC unit (HVAC air handler) by some other company. This year our heat pump died and we had to replace the outside AC unit. We collected the three offers from the three different companies in San Antonio. Schmidt Mechanics offered us the best possible deal. We were surprised with a high level of professionalism in finding the best 15 seer matching unit for the lowest price. Installation, tuning and testing the whole system were smooth and very efficient. Our new AC system works now perfectly. Called Schmidt for their cooling checkup with a coupon. Called on Monday, Rusty Cain was here on tuesday afternoon. The time frame was 3:00pm-5:00pm and he was here by 3:30. Did a good inspection of our system and basically found the same issues I assumed he would find. We sat down and talked with Rusty about new systems to fit our needs, and he gave us multiple options to consider without pushing any particular system. I had a number in my head for what I figured we would end up paying and they were just under that. We scheduled an appt for Thursday morning at 8:00am to install our new system and Rusty and Gilbert were at our house by 7:45 to begin the installation. All of the crew wore shoe covers every time they entered our house, they laid plastic on the carpet and were quick and efficient with the installation. The new heat pump system they installed as well as the changes they made to the draining system were really top notch. They installed a great touch screen thermostat that was very easy to program. It makes our old system look like a ceiling fan. The company owner Keith even stopped by just to introduce himself. We are not a high spending customer by any means but we sure felt like it with this service. If you have air conditioning needs, I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Rusty, Gilbert and Keith from Schmidt. more

After having 2 different companies come to my home and tell me I need a new system I called Schmidt Mechanical Group out for a free second opinion. They diagnosed a bad capacitor and for $235.00 my system was up and running again. It amazed me how many dishonest companies are out there. I was attracted to the fact that Schmidt Mechanical Group offered 60 month financing because three air conditioning units was going to be a lot for one shot. The guy that came out was very knowledgeable and I appreciate the time he took to explain what would be the best system for my large house. They were quick to fix most of my problems. The only concern I have is they installed equipment in my garage and after that I couldn't open my garage doors except for the main one. I told them about it and they said they would send someone out to look at it but that hasn't happened yet. Otherwise, they were very cheerful and I liked that they were very good about protecting my house and being clean. more

This is the second time I've had Schmidt Mechanical do things for me. Sean put solution through the unit here at the retirement center to keep it unplugged the first time. That was so helpful for us, because we can't get into the attic here. This second guy probably didn't realize we have such a tough time going up there, but it was still a fine experience. I especially liked Sean because he really seemed incredibly agreeable. He even put an AC filter on for me. I had just gotten home from the hospital and couldn't get on that ladder. more
