Editorial review from Citysearch 9/8/2013

City Search's two photos are not of the correct building, the others of a different building are stolen from other web sites, without permission. Most of the negative reviews are ""sour grapes"" by Short Term PAST tenants who were unable to follow rules. YOU SHOULD CHECK OUT THE real Sandhurst Apartments for YOURSELF and find out it's advantages of management to run a good value and convenient building without them! more

Horrible Management 1/18/2012

DO NOT move into these apartments. The actual apartments, though out-dated and in need of a little work, were decent for the price. But the management was horrible and I wish I had looked at the reviews before I moved in. They never answer the phone or return phone calls (it rings once and goes straight to an answering machine). They took forever to come in to fix a couple problems with my water heater and bathtub while I was living there. The Asian lady manager was extremely rude and completely annoying every time I had to talk to her. And to top it all off, I NEVER RECEIVED MY DEPOSIT BACK with no explanation and no way to contact them (as I stated before, they don't answer the phone). I was a perfect tenant, paid rent on time, and kept everything clean and in working order. Since they outright stole my deposit, I am trying to take them to small claims court, but I have a feeling nothing will come of it and they will have successfully gotten away with stealing money from another tenant. Read the other reviews and you will see they say the same things. Please, DO NOT move in and continue to let them steal from the tenants! more

Do not live here 7/1/2011

Never in my renting life have I ever experienced people like this. Went I went to look at the apartment a nice old man showed me the place and I signed a lease. Once I signed the lease I never heard from the old man again. Instead, all further business was conducted through the nastiest, meanest asian lady. She never told me her name and she never returned my phone calls. When I tried to move out after being a perfect tenant, she was practically screaming at me about how ungrateful i was and she thanked me for my ""charity"" and slammed my old apartment door in my face. My entire deposit managed to disappear, but I was so happy to get away from her and that place I did not pursue it. more

Value Apartments priced 4 LOCATION & SIZES! 5/4/2011

These basic apartments are bargain priced for their location and size. As a returning tenant I came back after moving away. The management was fair to me, but when they correct the tenants not following rules have resulted in retaliation by negative blogs after moving to try to keep new tenants away! more

Awful management. 3/10/2011

How IRONIC that the only (obviously fake) positive reviews here are from an ""IronicIrene"" and ""bobbiefairplay"", when the apt managers names ARE Bob & Irene...might want to be a little more creative next time. more

Terrible People 11/30/2010

First of all, I'm pretty sure the only good posts for this place are written by the owners. DO NOT BE FOOLED! THEY ARE TERRIBLE PEOPLE!!! They never answer your phone call and they are only trying to collect on their money. The owners only do the most minimal updates and maintenance to keep the apartments in shape. more

Good, clean apartments 10/22/2010

These apartments aren't fancy but they are clean and neat. I liked the Sandpoint area and the apartments are close to the lake and public transportation. more

A GOOD VALUE APARTMENT OPTION TO CONSIDER! 10/18/2010

If you have GOOD CREDIT, STRONG RENTAL REFERENCES and a SOLID JOB INCOME this may be the place for you. Many of the prior negative reviewers did not have these and they have long since left. The OWNERS and MANAGEMENT are seeking good people who will appreciate what we can offer them as long-term tenants living in and benefiting from these well-located fairly priced apartments. Take a look and check out many of the unit upgrades that can be had for much less than other less desirable areas to live in Seattle. more

Contrary to most of the Reviews this 10/11/2010

Contrary to most of the Reviews this one will try to be more positive and give an accurate description and more helpful tool to consider living here. The building is an all electric, no frills apartment, with management that tries to be and/is as fair and professional in dealings with tenants as possible. The location strong and the prices are competitive. Management prefers honest, sincere and rule abiding tenants seeking value housing rather than grudges and controlling you to NOT CONSIDER LIVING HERE. SO BE WISE and Come take a look at us to decide for yourself! more

HORRIBLE 7/20/2009

Landlords arrogant and bad people. Oriental woman is bossy. Pros: non Cons: everything more

Renters Beware! 7/9/2009

Worst managers ever! The managers are money-collectors, nothing else. If you rent from this place you will not get your deposit back. Pros: Great location and price Cons: Everything else! more

Thiefs! 9/22/2008

Unless you want to get ripped off, I strongly suggest you never rent here. These people stole my deposit money. The property managers are two rude pigs, they are arrogant and feel like they are the owners. I'm sure the real owners are not as discusting as these two. Overall the worst leasing experience I've ever had. Pros: cheap Cons: they steal your deposit money, so on the long run ends up being more expensive more

Worst Landlords Ever... Seriously 8/31/2008

I am currently in litigation with the landlords over my security deposit. A key issue with the landlords in this apartment is they do not have a direct line to contact them at. You call the number and it goes straight to answering machine, then they call you back from an unknown number whenever they feel like it. My litigation is in regards to returning the keys and the walk through. I scheduled a walk through, went to do the walk through and had a no-show from the landlord. I wasnt able to get ahold of them, though I left 3 messages. And then I get a notice saying I owe another months rent because I never returned the keys as specified in the lease agreement. Seriously, they are out to get your money from you. Pros: Location Cons: Everything else; Landlords, Quality of Apartment more

condo buyers beware 6/6/2007

The place is actually a steal in terms of renting ..great price for the location. yes, the landlords weren't the best, but I still think it is one of the best deals in town if it were just for the location and view of the lake. I am sad that we may be forced to move since it looks like they won't be owners much longer.. even though they haven't informed us yet, you can tell they are going to try to sell the apts since they keep showing them off to buyers. We hope to stay as long as possible even though they may only less than a month to move in the end. From a financial standpoint, I do feel a little sorry for whoever buys them to convert them into condos, since they need a lot of work done. And if they don't fix everything and rip out all the old bad stuff, then future buyers are going to unknowingly LOSE a lot of money. The roofs need to be redone since they leak. the ceilings and walls all need to redone and replaced. the siding should be taken off to expose the moldy wood underneath. the pipes really should be replaced, same with the wiring. the living rooms are nice sizes and the balcony is great. But other than the layout of the apartment, it almost seems as if they would be better off tearing down the wplace and rebuilding a more ""green"" building from scratch. Pros: location, size of livingroom, location Cons: windows leaked air, high electriciy, no composting, useless landlords, awful carpets, black mold more

cheap, good location, terrible managers 10/29/2006

Browsing for a one bedroom in seattle is pricey, and this place has a great price, great location to a park and bus line, but the managers are the worst managers i've ever had, out of 4 apartments! I had been a good tenant for over a year, and when it came time to move out, i gave them my 20 day notice (well 19 since the 20 day mark was a sunday) and they would not let me move out since i had only give them 19 days instead of 20, even though the post-mark was for the thursday before hand! so i ended up having to stay an extra month. I also had terrible water damage that i called about and nothing was ever done until i assume i moved out. The managers are also incredibly unfriendly and do not really care that you are living there and giving them money every month because they are harsh and always have something wrong to come knocking at your door about in the event that they are actually there. There is also no outgoing mail box, which is kind of a pain. They are also unreliable about setting up your electricity. It says that you pay your electricity, which is very common, but when you do the lease signing, they'll say they'll take care of calling, etc, but never do, then let the bill pile up in their name instead. i do not recommend this place unless you do not want to ever have contact with the managers! more

a cheap place, nobody cares u 10/19/2006

I lived in this apt. for 1 year and now ready to move out. It's cheap compared with others. The carpet was dirty when I moved in. The manager only took the money from you, and kept silent when I called him. There's no way to communicate with him. I would not recommend you to live here. more
