cant get any better 1/31/2009

Me and my husband have been boarding our dogs at Rob Cary for over 15 yrs. We have done tours many times and have seen the clean facilities and also have taken many different classes there ranging from puppy training, obedience and agility training. We have also been through private lessons with Gary who is very talented and motivated working with dogs of every breed. The moment we pull into their parking lot our dogs get very excited. The front office staff have always made us feel welcomed and warm. Especially the Ken Techs that check in our babies. Our dogs have always came home clean and fresh whether or not they get groomed. Yes, sometimes their toys don't always come back or in the same condition. I would rather keep boarding our dogs at Rob Cary and having them groomed there than having someone come into my home when we are not there. At least we know that they are safe, secure, loved and respected in every possible way imagined. We could never go anywhere else other than Rob Cary. We are very appalled by reading all of these negative reviews. No, not everything we do in life is going to be perfect, but over the years we have never seen any customer get upset over their service. If anything its because their dogs chewed up and/or destroyed their toys or soiled the bedding. We hope that these negative reviews are not just a matter of disgruntled customers trying to bash Rob Cary. Never in our right minds would we believe that they have horrible customer service or are EVER abusive to animals. They are very kind and caring people there, especially since they have animals of their own and would not treat them any differently. Pros: if you want class this is where it's at Cons: none more

Behind the scenes 1/7/2009

I used to take my dog here for all services, one occasion changed that for sure! I have a larger dog who stays in the kennels in the rear. It was mid day when I went to pick her up from a three night stay. There were two extremely rude girls at the front desk. Neither was with a customer, but one was blabbing away on her cell phone while the other looked at me and turned around. Already upset, I noticed the manager walked up to the counter and she ignored me too. I finally threw my leash on the counter and asked for service. The girl on her phone put the phone on her shoulder and tried to check me out. After waiting 15 minutes for my dog to come up, I was upset when they brought up a full bag of dog food for a sensitive stomach. They had fed her the wrong food her entire stay. She was covered in diarreah and nobody could give me an explanation. The manager wouldn't even come out of her office to talk to me. My dog needed to use the bathroom so bad I just left. As we walked back to the car, I noticed some kennel workers were yanking this poor dog into the building. It even yelped and tumbled over the leash. I was so disgusted. Who knows how they treat the poor animals behind closed doors. They will never get the opportunity to hurt my baby again! more

When I sincerely thanked them for taking such good care of him AGAIN (which is reassuring since I travel), they let me know about this site, and invited me to express my gratitude. Now I know why---happy customers don't always take the time to write positive reviews. When I read through the other reviews on this site, I was pretty surprised at some of the 'dramatic' negative stories! It's terrible to think any pets were harmed there; if true, I hope it was a fluke. Yes, the front desk is typically very busy, but every time I patiently wait for my turn, the ladies are friendly, caring, and thorough. Checking in or out is never a rush-job, and I see that as a careful business practice, which I really appreciate. I plan to leave my dog there over the Christmas holiday, and I am as certain as ever that he will be well cared for AGAIN. Pros: Near airport, caring staff Cons: Checking in/out can take awhile more

Dog always grateful to come home... but, generally in good spirits. 11/23/2008

I've read some recent reviews about this place and I'm horrified. I've had issues with the front desk gals being inexperienced/rude .... But, three years ago I borded my dog fhere for over 3 weeks and she came back totally NORMAL!! She was in perfect health, emotionally and physically. This was especially good since before we moved here she was prone to illness etc. We've used this place exclusively since-- bording and grooming. Last Christmas she was there for 2 weeks and also came back totally fine. I called while I was out of town even and they mentioned that she was given extra attention because she wasn't eating well. I'm not sure what to make of these reviews-- dogs sort of know when they are being left behind... a nd it must be a scary thing for our pack animals...maybe that is why they are shaking? more

Great Trainner Lost LaDonna 11/17/2008

For the past 10 years my wife and I have train out with you folks. And over the years I have seen less and less trainners. The one lady the stands out in trainning is LaDonna which I understand has been ther for almost 20 years. And had just found out that she is no longer with them and they refered me to the trainning Director Gary and have taken class with him before and would never ever let him touch my dog, Gary is a very mean person even thought they have change the class he is not the trainning person that I would want to teach my dog or any dogs. It is a great loss to the place with the lost of LaDonna she is a great person allway very up beat and great trainner. We will miss you and hope to see you soon someplace. Your friends. Taking Care of a Member of the Family 10/20/2008

I have taken my American Eskimo Toy to this facility since she was a puppy (she is now 8). We went through puppy training there and she has been boarded on several occasions. Tammi and Roy, the manager and kennel manager,make sure that she receives excellent care! I have read the negative reviews and have to disagree with them. Will your dog like it here, maybe not, but that is not the fault of the facility. Our dog has a VERY strong attachment to the family and would not like it anywhere we left her! We also go the expense to have her in the luxury suites-TV, nice bedding, lots of attention. So remember as you go off on your vacation to get the best you can afford for your pet also. I would feel guilty getting on a cruise ship not having arranged for the best care for her. This friend was the one that was there for me as I was going through Chemo treatments and I will never forget that. And one last thing, after you have had your great vacation and tipped everyone that brought you a drink or fluffed your pillow remember that the people that work here took care of one of your very best "friends". more
