Best

I was very pleased with my make-up lesson. Kami was very upbeat and complimentary. It is very evident that she loves what she does and that she loves her job. I learned alot from ...

Worst

Unfortunately I had to cur my hot stone appt short, however, the gal was nice but the stones were too hot. Hard to relax when feeling burned. She did quickly remedy the problem.

Go elsewhere 8/22/2007

I was really excited to get my first facial (ever) at ReVamp, only to be sorely disappointed. The reception service was terrible--the people were rude and I was completely ignored. My esthetician was nice, but the quality of the facial/massage wasn't very good. In fact, she talked for a lot of the facial. I was told to buy the products repeatedly, but am so glad I didn't, as I broke out three days later. I expected to be pampered and to relax--neither happened. When checking out, I again had to deal with snotty staff. I won't be going back. Cons: WAY overpriced and RUDE staff. more

UPSET IN UPTOWN 7/18/2007

Looking for a higher end Salon, traveled 40 minutes and paid for parking only to be let down again. Was looking for a trendy new cut and got chopped up with a basic short hair cut. I could of got this at the corner Salon where I live.. Really dissapointed when my expectiations were extremely high (only becuase they build themselves up like that) !! Pros: Location if you live in the area Cons: Location if you do not live in the area .. more

Great cut, beautiful salon 6/12/2007

I went to reVamp because of the great reviews on CitySearch, and I was not disappointed. The employees were very friendly, the salon was beautiful with complimentary herbal tea, and I came out with a gorgeous haircut. The stylist, Angela, was very nice and she had a lot of great ideas. I let her do her thing, and my hair has never looked so healthy and full of body. It was really easy to get an appointment - I think I called a few days in advance. The salon did not push their products on me, which was nice. I hate feeling pressured into buying products I never use (which has happened many times before)! Pros: great ideas, skilled workers Cons: parking more

Amazing Staff & Very Accommodating 6/6/2007

I was introduced to reVamp! by a group party a friend had hosted at reVamp! I have been a loyal client ever since then. My first visit was to the spa; the massage by Molly was what I was looking for, the facial by Kami was out of this world (I fell asleep) and the pedicure and manicure by Rori was great, my nails looked great for weeks. There isn't too many places you can go where you feel like a part of a family. The staff, from the front desk to service providers who didn't even work on me where very warm and friendly. I then decided to give them a try for my cut and color. I had asked the front desk for a recommendation and they scheduled me with Joelle; she listened to my concerns as I am Scandinavian with blond fine hair. I was very happy with her honesty, meaning she wasn't afraid to tell me what I didn't want to hear. I went with her suggestions and I have gotten many compliments; some friends said I look 10 years younger. After my first hair service, Kami, who did my facial a few weeks prior, remembered me and offered to do a makeup touch-up. What a nice guesture! I felt like a million bucks! Fast forward to the present, when I am unable to get in with either Joelle or Kami or Rori, I feel very comfortable see any of the other staff at reVamp! for my beauty needs. Give them a try! They are the BEST! Pros: Frienldy, Honest, Professional Cons: parking, not open on Sunday's more

Over priced and bad service. 4/4/2007

I scheduled an appointment way in advance of going on a vacation, only to my utter dismay to have my appointment cancelled less than six hours before it was set to occur. I was then offered a subpar service in place of the service that I had scheduled. Don't expect them to keep appointments or to give you timely notice of your appointment being cancelled. For a place that requires a credit card for making an appointment and has a policy that they will charge you for half the price of your scheduled appointment if you cancel, you'd think they'd be better about keeping appointments. more

great expeience 3/28/2007

great experience four of us went there for a spa day. it was a wonderful experience. the staff were very friendly and my facial and massage were great. paula did my nails and she did a fantastic job. we spend a few hours their and i must say we were all very impressed. our first time their but for sure will be back. Pros: friendly and skilled staff Cons: parking but there is a pay lot in the back more

Service is not the same when using gift certificates. 12/14/2006

I had a gift certificate for the Replenish package which includes a facial, manicure and 1 hour massage. The facial was delightful. The person who did my manicure was very nice but did my nails in about 5 minutes and did a mediocre job; my nails were uneven and my cuticles were mostly untrimmed. The woman next to me looked like she was actually getting a decent manicure; she was still getting her hands massaged while my nails were drying and we started at the same time! The woman who did my massage was very nice too, and the massage was relaxing but she stopped after only 40 minutes. If you are looking for a back rub I would recommend a massage from this place, but if you are looking for a serious massage then I would go to a real masseuse. After this very disappointing visit I called the manager, of the Uptown location, to give my feedback and he never called me back. It is obvious, from the lack of concern by management, in regards to customer satisfaction, why the services provided by ReVamp are not worth the prices they charge for them. Everyone (staff) was pleasant and the atmosphere was nice but the waiting area was messy and there were no complimentary beverages stocked. I would NOT recommend anyone purchase or use gift certificates for ReVamp because there is no guarantee that you will get the quality of service you pay for unless you know someone who is good there. Had I paid for this myself I would have been really upset and asked for 1/2 of my money back. Pros: Ambience, Friendly staff, Facial Cons: Service quality varies greatly, Gift Certificates more

Beautiful Space but not so Beautiful Hair 9/17/2006

I had been going to ReVamp for 5 years and finally had to call it quits, I feel I'm paying for a pretty place to sit and not very good service. It just seems like the entire staff is unhappy and would rather be doing something else. Pros: Beautiful space Cons: Crabby Staff more

Great atmosphere! 8/30/2006

I recently went to Revamp and got the replenish spa package which included a 1 hour massage, a facial and a manicure. The whole experience was great and I loved the calm atmosphere of the downstairs spa area. I have gotten a lot of massages in the past and this was by far the best I've ever had! The staff was very friendly and they really made my experience great. Can't wait to go back again, what a treat! Pros: Ambience, Very knowledgable and caring staff Cons: Parking more

Would never got back - two botched appointments 8/26/2006

I would never recommend this place to anyone and have even talked people out of going there. My first experience was using a gift certifcate for a pre-wedding massage for myself and my mother. When we arrived they had somehow lost our appointment and we would have to go in shifts, that was if they could find someone else to come in, in order to get our massages done. Since we did not have the time to wait to see if they could get someone in and had other things to attend to later that day, we decided to not stay and were offered $10 off our next visit. Which if you are first time customer, you can get that same discount so really it was no compensation there. I wasn't looking for a lot of compensation but how do you lose an appointment that you confirmed a few days before. We made a second appointment after the wedding and had our massages. As promised we got our $10 off per person. The only problem was that since I was dissatisifed with the way the service had been handled before, I ended up burning the $100 I had left on the gift certifcate on product that I didn't need because I never wanted to make a trip back to this salon. Second time I went there, not by choice, was for my best friend's wedding. We went to get manicures. Again, they botched the appointments and there were only three of us on a Friday afternoon. The bride and another friend were able to get started but I had to wait. Not only that, but she didn't do exactly the same services that other two women had, and because now we were almost an hour behind schedule, I couldn't take the time to explain it to her to get it done the right way. The salon needs to make sure that the services are done the same across the board. The salon did give us $5 off for the inconvenience. And to the person who posted about complaints being typical, I would love to know where you work because if I pulled this at my job, I would be in hot water. Pros: Service was okay nothing spectacular Cons: Horrible with keeping appointments more

Complaints are so typical 6/5/2006

Ladies I have been coming to ReVamp for many years and I must tell you some of these complaints are absurd. For the ones who come in (only once it seems) for a makeover you really need to try hard not to confuse making over your ENTIRE sad life outside of simple hair and makeup. Sure, my stylist has been really late before I have havent you?. Sure Ive had a bad day, my stylist has, havent you? BE STRONG ITS 2006! These people are NOT mind readers, they are NOT therapists they ARE hairstylists!!! I see them suggesting many, different looks outside the typical Minnesota safety hairdo net. Most of you dont listen. OPEN YOUR MINDS PEOPLE!!! You really need to look beyond what your neighbor in Edina is wearing! A real Hollywood attitude isnt just limited to LA! Pros: ALL, ROBERT Cons: NONE more

Want to look like a poodle? Try this place! 5/31/2006

Most unhappy with my visit here. Went for a fabulous makeover....got made over alright.....into another species - poodleus unhappius. Got a cut and color. The cut? Average. The color? Far too dark for my pale skin, but I shouldn't complain because IT WASHED OUT COMPLETELY within a few days. I called to set up a corrective appointment, went back, and asked for highlights instead. Highlights apparently cost more than full color, so they asked me to pay the difference. Very unprofessional. Highly trained in the art of being unskilled and unfabulous. Four paws down. Booooooo! more

i LOVE my new hair!!! 4/12/2006

i have found my dream stylist at revamp! the cut and color i received was absolutly stellar! my stylist went way above and beyond my expectations. i rarely get a creative/modern cut these days, but my stylist did just that. she was very professional and even gave me some groundbreaking styling tips. i bought products that she used and my hair is looking the best it's ever looked. seriously. i've been getting alot of head turns these past few weeks, and i attribute that to my new totally awesome stylist at revamp! more

I would highly recommend. 4/7/2006

Great Customer Service 2/15/2006

If you are looking for a salon that goes above and beyond what is expected this is the salon for you. I had my hair destroyed at another salon and they refused to correct the problem. I called revamp and was able to get in the next day. My stylist Audrey was wonderful. She explained to me what had happened with my color at the other salon and how we could correct it. She also informed me before we even started what the price would be and that I would have to come back in four weeks for the highlights I was looking for. She made me feel comfortable and made my hair beautiful. I would recommend this salon to EVERYONE!!!! Pros: Great Service, Helpfull Staff, Best Hair Treatments more

Jen J 2/9/2006

Oprah can only get you so far..... 2/8/2006

...then you actually need some talent to fall back on. What a tedious experience, I could not wait to leave, although with a dull haircut. Went to a "top stylist" and received a rushed, very cookie-cutter cut. She was immature and unprofessional, spending too much time being oh-so-clever with the manager to actually look at my hair or care if it was what I wanted. I had to PUSH her to fine-tune the cut (something any good stylist will do automatically) and my cut NEEDED fine tuning. The overly-staffed front desk was friendly but also unprofesional (low-wage high school type). I experienced nothing to make this place stand out as deserving of any of the hype it has received. Perhaps they've let themselves slide? There are plenty of other good places out there, I could have done better by just picking any one of them at random. Cons: attitude, service more

Editorial
  • In Short
This Uptown salon has a certain urban trendiness--high ceilings, rough cement walls painted bold colors, high-energy music and aestheticians. This may be due to the fame Oprah brought it when she sent her guests here for makeovers. These services are still available and include hair and makeup, but the stylists can break it down too. This full-service station also does individual styles, manicures, facials, massages and offers spa combination packages.
