I was so excited to have a dentist in Bastrop that accepted my dental insurance. I went in for a cleaning, stayed in the office for over 4 hours, ended up with a crown and a bridge instead. I now have a finance bill for almost $3k and they are still billing me over $1k for something that is not even covered!!! My insurance carrier advised that Castle NEVER called for a pre authorization or approval or they would have found out before they made me finance MY portion and put this thing in my mouth. Which, by the way, fell out 3 times and is still crooked. The X ray tech was a student and it took almost an hour to get x rays. I could go on and on about the incompetency at this office and the fact that all they want to do is everything that costs a lot more than a cleaning!! Don't go there. There are over 15 reviews of Castle Dental, why didn't I read them BEFORE I went in to save some money..... more

This behavior was repeated from my last visit in 2007, and again earlier.\r \r They are pushy. Their primary purpose is for you to buy services that you do not immediately want or need.\r \r Also, the office had a brand new dental assistant that repeatedly made mistakes causing me repeated discomfort.\r \r The office will try to conduct services on the customer, without prior approval. Such as, they did not get my approval or tell me the cost of my x-rays prior to getting them.\r \r If you are wealthy and/or of means and do not care of the expense of your dental care proceed to Castle Dental, otherwise i strongly advise not using this office. more

I chipped one of my teeth on thursday night. My normal Dentist in Hutto was not able to fit me in and I went to Castle Dental. What a mistake that was. On the window they advertise X-rays and exam for $79 (normal charge on the poster said $159). I however was charged $180, my insurane was charged $175 and the exuse they gave me was, I had insurance. I later received a bill for $11.87 in addition to what i had already paid. The office personel told me over the phone, since I had insurance they had to charge me the outrageous price, it was ""Compnay Policy"". On top of it they told me I was going need a Crown and an emergency deep cleaning or I may loose some teeth. All this fictional myths totaled $2800. The next monday, I took myself to the Greatist Dentist in the world, well around here anyway, my normal Dentist. I had to redo my x-rays and exam. because the x-rays they took weren't good and an untrained monkey could of done a better Job at taking X-rays. My total with cleaning and a filling was $32. Makes you think doesn't it. If there was anything lower then one star they would get it. If there are enough people out there that had the same problem, we should all look into legal action for horrible and immoral business practices. Well in addition to being a very painful procedure,it was going to cost me nearly 200.00 out of pocket. I was surprised since I had this procedure done several years before by another dentist. At that time the Dr that did it let me know as long as I flossed I should never have to do it again. Needless to say once was enough and from that day on I flossed regularly. I never did go back to Castle for the scaling . Today after almost two years I went to another dentist here in Round Rock and they were able to get me totally taken care of. No deep scaling required. My out of pocket for today's visit was only 52.00. I was always suspicious of Castle's Diagnosis . Today my suspicions were confirmed. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. more

First of all since when do you have to go get evaluated to get your teeth cleaned (they don?t do eval. and cleaning on same apt.=more $$$ for them)? second of all I take very good care of my teeth, go in this place and they tell me I have all sorts of cavities and I need a ""deep cleansing"". This is what you WILL get told, they will not give you a regular cleansing due to the fact that they make no money on it and make about 400 or more on a ""deep cleansing"". Another thing...if you go here be prepared to have a total of 4 different sets of hands in your mouth. I tried to call and schedule a regular cleansing due to the fact that I couldn?t fit a ""deep cleansing"" into my budget, and they would not do it...doctors orders! I have come to believe that the doctor doesn?t care about the patients and their well being but just about what is in their wallet. Pros: I got to talk to a lot of the employees as they all came around to put their hands in my mouth Cons: everything about this place more
