eeehhh. blah 7/1/2003

This place is way overrated. Stay away from the Singapore noodles. Tasted like Betty Crocker. Who else puts gravy cream sauce and mushrooms over noodles? Should of been called Ohio noodles. I had to drown out the blandness with plenty of Rooster sauce. This being said after having time to reflect on my lunch experience from last week so I'm not being rash here. The one positive is that the portions were generous, so if you're in the mood for eating a lot of bland so-so American food impersonating the Orient for a relatively low price then this is your place. Pros: lots of food, good price Cons: bland food, Weird ambience more

Nothing Special... 3/21/2003

Unimpressed. Food was bland and lacked any real value. Ate take out so service wasn't an issue. I make better dishes at home and only cook on occasion. I would expect more from a ""What's Hot"" restaurant on citysearch. more

Use Your Noodle... 3/20/2003

and try new things on the menu! The food is delicious and filling. Enjoyed the SPICY (read, REALLY HOT!) coconut soup with fresh tofu & basil. It tasted about a 4-star heat rating. Don't plan on exhaling anytime soon. Wicked heat! The eggplant dish with chicken is consistently outstanding, though too many grilled onions were seen in the last ordering. The yam curry dish is also a favorite. Rich in Asian flavors. Yum! Great food for the $$. My friends and I always appreciate the great service, and the nice guys running the ranch! Keep on herding us in! Pros: good location, take out Cons: no delivery more

Nah, not again 2/22/2003

I stopped in being pretty hungry. I wanted to order noodles instead of rice with a curry dish, but was told that they would not allow that. So that was kind of irritating, but I went with my hankering for noodles and ordered prawn pad thai, figuring I couldn't go wrong with a standard. But I was disappointed - flavor was lacking in this dish. I wound up asking for extra limes so I could at least add that level of interest to the food. The noodles were just this side of being overcooked, and were not the typical small rice noodles I've come to expect for pad thai. Service other than substitution refusal was ok. Pros: medium prices, cool barstools, decent menu Cons: no substitutions, uninspired pad thai more

best asian food in town!!! 1/8/2003

What's not to love? The best asian food in town (at any price), friendly service and cheap prices. I've been going to the Noodle Ranch for years and it just keeps getting better. Try the Cha Ca or the red curry... I'm still hooked on these dishes. Sometimes there's a 10 or 15 minute wait, but it's well worth it! Pros: Food!!!!!, Prices !!! Cons: 10-15 minute wait more

OVER-RATED & WEAK 1/2/2003

I would stick to China Town the next time I'm hankering for noodles. While the atmosphere is certainly hip, the food is pretty disappointing. We started with the gyoza, which we were surprised to find were deep fried in oil, as opposed to pan-fried or steamed lika a traditional asian gyoza. They ended up being still frozen in the middle--yuck!! I had the ramen with tofu: the tofu tasted sour and the broth was tasteless. The noodles, however, we perfectly cooked. My wife had the green curry chicken which as spicy, but not very complext at all. I'll try the Mexican place next door next time instead--it looks better. Pros: cheap, good beer on tap, trendy and hip Cons: bad food, freezing inside, not authentic more

Dreaming of it ever since... 11/17/2002

I tried the curry and red yam dish with chicken and red rice and I've been dreaming of it ever since. My mouth is watering right now just thinking about it. I thought the service was good and the place was packed!! They serve Blue Willow teas that are divine. Pros: delicious food, good value, red rice!! Cons: crowded more

Exotic flavor-fest... 11/6/2002

As a frequent visitor to Seattle, I always make it a point to have at least one meal at The Noodle Ranch. I've enjoyed everything I've eaten there - but to my taste the Hot and Sour Coconut Soup is exquisite. Spicy, yet not overpowering, with the exotic flavor of lemon grass and creamy coconut... Mmmm! I even carried an order on the plane and enjoyed it the next evening back at home - 2000 miles away! Pros: Generous portions Cons: Crowded at meal hours more

Yummy Asian Vittles! 10/30/2002

There is usually a 5-10 minute wait, but it is well worth it! Pros: cheap, yummy Cons: parking more

Downward Spiral 10/29/2002

Used to be good, but is getting worse everytime I return. I wouldn't recommend it. Pros: location, cuisine Cons: taste more

Curry favor with Thai lovers 10/20/2002

I loved the Thai green curry and would definately come here again, even if the parking can be a bit challenging on the weekend! This is one place I will come to again to sample what I didn't get this time. Pros: great curry, good service Cons: no easy parking more

Tasty Funky In-City Deal 10/14/2002

Green chicken curry on rice is delicious. It is perfect for gray or rainy days - though I've enjoyed it even on sunny ones too. Pot of tea, friendly staff, a great little hideaway from the usual corporate lunch places downtown. Pros: Delicious, Variety, Unconventional Cons: Crowded, Out of the way more

Not bad; 12:40 p.m. lunch avoids lines 10/4/2002

I wouldn't exactly rave about this place, but I will say that my Mekong bowl with marinated, grilled beef on rice noodles with cilantro was good. The meat reminded me of steak in a Chilean restaurant... pounded thin and heavily spiced and all in one huge piece instead of chopped into bite sized pieces. :) The service was good when we went for lunch at 12:40 p.m. (I think we just missed the big rush... this was a good time to go there for better service). The appetizers we had were overpriced and not memorable, but the chef's specialty that we had was good. One strange note... we were greeted by a really-bad-food-smell that permeated the restaurant when we walked in. THank goodness we got used to the bad smell by the time our lunch was served! Pros: good marinated beef, good service at 12:40, see and be seen here Cons: no parking, construction outside, overpriced appetizers more

Noodles with a twist 10/3/2002

Growing up in an Italian household I was exposed to just about every style of noodle under the sun, but nothing prepared me for the tantalizing tastests that awated me in this hip yet sublte noodle bar. The fish is fresh, the beef is flavored to perfection and as always you'll find the atomosphere as fun as the dishes. While your taste buds are being suprised by the combinations of sweet and sour your eyes will be entertained by the artistic decor from the chairs to the restroom wall art. Pros: inexpensive, unique, hip Cons: street parking, sometimes crowded more

noodle house with a flair 9/24/2002

Americanize Asian noodle house in the heart of Belltown. Clean and friendly. Pros: great food, location, free parking after 6 Cons: not enough seating, not enough variety, no parking more

Cool Staff, Great Food, Great Value 9/23/2002

Portions at the Noodle Ranch are large and the food quality is high. Add in inexpensive pricing and you have a restaurant that deserves to be successful. I have eaten there frequently (over fifty times) and can report the day to day consistency of the food is great. The setting is very casual and food comes fast so be ready to eat. Pros: food quality, service, price Cons: parking more

Strangest Phad Thai, ever 9/23/2002

Friends of mine have raved about this place, I was truly disappointed. Their version of Phad Thai, while tasty, was nothing remotely related to Phad Thai. They used thick soup noodles, peanut sauce, broccoli, carrots and zucchini. When I went there for lunch, we waited nearly 40 minutes for our food, after being told orders were NOT prepared on a first in, first out basis. And our waiter consistently neglected us. People at other tables had to run behind the seating counter to grab utensils, sauces, napkins, etc because the waiters weren't providing them. And someone at the table next to mine had a special request for the dish completely ignored. The person I was with ordered beef, but received chicken. While my friend's meal was very good, I do not plan on returning. I'd rather go to Shorty's and have a hot dog. Pros: inexpensive Cons: long service, weird food more

Great Food! 9/13/2002

The best Thai place in Seattle. I have eatten in twice and ordered to go once. Every time, lots of great food at a low price! more

Not only is the food FANTASTIC, but the staff is wonderful. Thumbs Up. Pros: Great Food, Friendly Staff Cons: Crowded, Terrible Parking more

Good, not great 9/9/2002

The food is good, but not great. A touch bland and could use some spice. Still, very fresh and great service. more
